My new quilting studio! We are finally moved in and setting up

- Moving is such a process! We are finally in our new home after quite a delay in closing....and we are thrilled! We just love our new home. I've been working on setting up my studio so we can get back to work, I can't wait to spend time with you!

Sometimes a smaller space is easier to keep organized.
The house I grew up in was an original homestead from the 1860 Homestead Act. It started as a one-room home and was later expanded. It had to be redone in 1917 so that is the ‘official’ year built but the fireplace was original (with a modernized chimney insert added in the 1950s). The portion that was originally the entire home became the living room and everything else got added later.
My parents bought it more for the lot than the house and it was a years long renovation project. We as a family did as much of the work as we could with my brother and I legit helping from ages 6 and 5.
Houses with character are amazing.

Such a lovely home; the older homes have so much character that the newer ones don’t have. I love hardwood floors which I have the original ones in part of the farm house that I live in. Your studio looks fabulous. I have a very small sewing space in a small bedroom with some shelving for fabric in my living room. I have managed to fill it to overflowing!! LOL. When I bought my new sewing machine, I didn’t know how much I would come to love the knee lift - it is probably more of a requirement now for me than some of the other options that I thought I needed. Live and learn! Thanks so much for sharing your new home and studio with us. It is wonderful.

Love your new house and studio. Hardwood floors are a must. We have them in all our rooms. Grew up with them and had to have them in our house. Congrats now time to enjoy it.
Wowser! Your studio is fabulous! To have all that natural light, even though it gets hot, makes me a teeny bit jealous. 😊. But I have commandeered the master bedroom area in my house, and I’m extremely happy with it. Enjoy!

I could see myself out in your Sewing Studio in the mornings drinking my coffee and looking out your sliding glass doors and listening to the birds how peaceful such a beautiful house

Your house and studio are wonderful. I love your deck and yard. Please be careful of black bears they are popping up all over the place. DC, Annapolis, Frederick, and Baltimore Co., Maryland. The fact that you have grapevines and a persimmon tree. Be careful.

For the quality of work you do, people WILL make the drive. If someone is put off by a short drive for the beauty & quality you provide, they need to reprioritize.

Lisa, this is really a neat home, I am so proud for you and of you. I remember the first time I saw your channel, your first videos were in a small cold studio and even though you are now and were then a master in sewing you were so nervous. You have such a sweet spirit and I am so glad to see you flourishing. Sorry you had to downsize your studio but glad you love your space, it is really a beautiful room, I love all the wonderful light and to be able to see the lovely landscape is delightful. I love it ! It's has a farm house feel 😊 a little pond would be great right there in your little flower bed with a little water fall ! Then you could listen to the water while you are crafting

Thanks for the tour :) I feel for you getting moved and settled. It's a job! We moved from AZ to PA (over 2000 miles!) a little over a year ago and at our age (82/76) it was challenging, especially when there weren't many houses for sale. We bought the house without ever having seen it because we had to be out of our house in AZ. It sold within 24 hours, which we didn't expect, and it caught us off guard. Not to mention, we had a terrible realtor here in PA who was NO help relocating us. It was very stressful for us but we made it. We had to have some major renovations done when we got here and actually saw the house and they're still not done. Your new home and studio are lovely. I love the original floors. Be sure to keep the sun off your fabric because it will fade. Ask me how I know after living in AZ. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Stay well.

Suggestion: How about a roman shade for that huge triangle window to diffuse the direct sunlight? Set it with a cord you pull from down below that pulls it up. God bless.
