It's such a beautiful RC. Certainly super fast and if they can under cut the price of an Arrma street car and be as tough as an Arrma street car, they may have a real contender there. Awesome. I'd love to see a heads up race between it and a felony and an infraction.

Looks ace, was hoping for a little more on the 21t pinion but faster you go the more room/less curbs/more grip is needed
Infraction speed pinion is 27t and does 90mph… so this with a 21t was pretty quick!
Where do i get the 21t pinion from. And what's the highest you've used.

This larger scale hitting 100 kph, that's the speed limit on our major highways here in Ontario. Can you imagine cruising along on the highway and look down and see you're being paced by an r/c car? hahaha
Haha.. yeah, that would be funny. The speed limit on this road is 40mph… so I doubled it 😂

I’ll be putting the stock ones back on when the arrive in the UK. And batteries were CNHL and then some Turnigy… both perform well

I was worried there when it was only doing low speeds on the 14 tooth pinion. Seeing as people are getting 90MPH out of the Felony with the speed pinion. 80MPH on the 21 tooth though restored my faith.

What's the charging set-up you have in the boot? Is it just a charger plugged into inverter using the car battery as source?

nice runs.. what pitch pinion does it need and is it a 5mm shaft please? be interesting to try a 24T and see the difference.

just watched this awesome video with one of the best cars i have seen in a long time and from FTX its one on my to buy list.
but i have a question i saw in between runs you was using some form of power pack to charge the lipos while you was running what is this power pack and where can we get them from please???

Great video Phil. That thing is a beast. Should've used the EX07 wheels. I would imagine they have a bit more traction than the silver hoons.
Try using the Arrma speed pinions to see how powerful the motor is compared to the Arrma motor.
The rears are taller though… so may have messed the Diff up. EX07 are all the same size
@@TomleyRC ahhh. I see. Square set up while other 1/7 are staggered. Out the box, I think this FTX is quite a bit faster than the EX07 if they ran on the same pinion.

Still undecided.. the Infraction is a beast, but still a 100-200 more than this. So would come down to cost I guess

I'm in the market for a new rc car, I'm torn between this and the arrma infraction.
Most reviews say the infraction is better but it's also £200 more expensive over here in the uk, for that I could upgrade this car or buy more lipos or an extra body shell.
Any advice? 👍🏻
Finally got mine delivered today. Ordered 21 & 22 tooth pinions, better servo and will be changing over to DumboRC. Only had blue in stock but it looks awesome.

After i got my hands on the FTX Outback Tracker they went way up in my estimations. This is next on my list.
I want to get a chassis like that for my 62'corvette convertible 1/7th scale it maybe 1)6th but i measure it about 18-19 inches long sobim not sure but you have awesome videos and projects and vehicle and test runs great work bro
I wish I had one to add some really cool nice wheels and perhaps a custom paint scheme, with sound module...
Do you ever use a watt meter when gearing up? Does the esc limit current, or will it just burn up if you push it too hard?

Talking of speed. I messaged the guy who holds the worlds speed record. I said my modified 4s Typhon could go beyond that I think. He said in what way have you modified your little car. I replied that I put on a couple of electric jet fans. I also said last year on a certain RAF runway, I got to 178mph and that was on half throttle. If I went any faster, my tires would have gone. He said my combo of electric motor and jet fans is good but it would not qualify for the speed record. But it's still an RC car.

That’s a nice looking car. Can you tell me if FTX have resolved their spares issues for the things that don’t usually break. I have 2 ftx out of action as both blew their motors bearings but the rest of the motor is ok. At the time ftx did not stock this. Two 2 dead cars due to a small part. I should not have to buy a complete £100 motor in my option. When your out of warranty companies should stock evrything.
I’m not sure many manufacturers sell bearings separately
You could just measure the size of the bearings and get them seperately

@@TomleyRC seems to be their pattern, they release with one or 2 colours, then 6-8 months later a clear body will come out

Sir this is close to an infraction but it's mostly Plastic which is not good, more like the XO-1. For the price, I would get an infraction or one of the speed run cars. I know this would take over a month to get as well.
Im shocked i must say it. FTX has really stepped up the game here in a huge way.
One thing lacking is 1/8 street. But even more lacking is bodies. FTX has smashed it with the choices for this. Plus the combo looks decent. Hobbywing mayb. Looks fine to stay there anyway.
FTX could milk this but they gotta go ⚽️ ⚽️ deep into upgrade options.
At the very least FTX should be sending the ARRMA upgrade sheds the model to test and design options.
Carbon and alloy. Some like to colour code.
Which is the biggest issue with this car. The red body chassis is still blue. But you get red wheel nuts. If it was black/red chassis ide like it more.
I think a race roller would be nice too. Especially a kit build. With some upgrades mayb.
FTX could be the cheap arrma felony option. They creative with options tho and thats invaluable. Customising the RC is half the fun.
Nothing more cool than a traxxas wearing carbon fibre chassis.
