I see Jordan Peterson is taking the Sam Harris route to intellectual self-immolation.
I was never a huge Jorden Peterson fan; I never bought his book, but I have watched some of his stuff online - I like the older videos of him when he was a full-time teacher. The guy obviously isn't stupid, and he was an engaging professor.
But over time, I've gradually begun to not like JP. He has revealed some major blindspots in his rethoric that I just can't ignore. A lot of which seems to stem from a sense of intellectual grandiosity. I remember when he returned to CZcams after his benzo recovery; his videos were pushed VERY heavily in the algorithm. He was becoming the Ryan Reynolds "Mint Mobile" ad of social media academia. I think it was the interview he did with Matthew McConaughey that I just couldn't take JP seriously, anymore. All I could think of was when Cumtown made fun of McConaughey's audiobook; sounding like a pseudo-intellectual version of his Lincoln car ads.
His greasy-haired daughter was also promoted heavily for a while too. She's obviously riding his coattails. What exactly has Mikaela Peterson ever said that was of any importance? She just seems like some online thot peddling a meat-only diet.
Like I said, I used to like JP. But he's just an emotionally brittle boomer... with an authoritarian streak in him, apparently. And, his daughter is weird.

For what it's worth, i think Jordan Peterson fundamentally wants to be a good person and encourage other people to do so. But he's said before that confrontation and public exposure cause a lot of havoc in his life via anxiety and depression. I liked watching his lectures when he was still a professor, and there are occasionally things his channel has that i see as worth a watch. However, it really is a tragedy to see a guy like him twisted into what he's become. And i know his takes can be bigoted/discriminatory for marginalized groups. My objective isn't to condone that. All i mean to say (from my admittedly limited outlook on life) is that it's a shame to see someone who really wants to do the right thing and be a good man get messed up by himself, his family, and his "friends."
I genuinely hope Peterson can make enough money to retire and go back to writing. Because this public figure life is killing him.
And furthermore, the crying stuff seems to really bother folks, but i remember him showing a picture his son drew during one of his lectures in the early 2010's. Peterson was talking about the Jungian archetype thing and how children have ingrained tropes. Regardless of the truth of falseness of that principle, seeing a man cry when he looks at a picture his son drew as a little boy is honorable and (from the perspective of a father as well) pretty touching. I always remember that whenever Peterson steps wrong. Beneath it all, there's still that guy. He's just wrapped up in a world he should have never set foot in.

Well he’s been through a lot like his wife having cancer, benzo addiction, depression and a lot more in the last 1,5 years and i think the reason he also cries is because he feels the responsibility to care for so many young depressed lonely guys he puts pressure on himself probably too much that he could handle
He also said that himself that he is a more feminine guy so i guess that too is to take into account about his more irritating behavior recently.

The thing that gets me is that none of these people are actually anonymous, a lot of them have their name on there they just aren't in the public eye like he is so he doesn't know who they are. People reply to comments all the time and converse with strangers they don't know with just their nick name or username, and it makes them exactly that ; strangers. Obviously it doesn't make us all KNOW each other, but I'd never claim a commenter was "anonymous " or "hiding" just cause I don't personally know the person. Idk it just seems like a kinda strange way of thinking that everyone is totally anonymous when in actuality a lot of people online will use a name they typically go by whilst being online. Will every single hannah just have hannah? No, that would be wierd and confusing😂 we choose our online handles and it makes it our online "nickname" if you will.

This is genuinely really fucking sad to watch. I have a love for Jordan Peterson, but we've seen social media ruin better men and women. You can't separate people into fans and trolls based off how they respond to your content. Sometimes you have to face the tough possibility that not everything you produce or say or do is well received

Jordan Peterson use to read literature all the time, teach classes, and work his psychology practice.
Those were healthy lifestyle habits that cultivated & cemented the man he use to be.
He’s going on a decade now of just podcasting & Tweeting.. and perpetually at war with society. These my friends, are not healthy lifestyle habits. And I think we’re now seeing the detrimental effect of removing healthy & mentally stabilizing practices, and substituting them with destabilizing practices.
