    I am 61 and have been riding 50 years. I have a 2018 that I ride the $hit out of. It is fun to ride and Rock Solid reliable.. I put 8000 miles on it last year. Not a single issue.

      @@telmorodrigues1093 as much as I love the r3 and what it deliever I'll have to stick to the cbr300 as my go to small bike. When you think of honda you know what you're geting . They are known for their dependable amd reliability. I've took my r3 to Indiana a few yrs ago and going to do another cross country road trip with the cbr and feel very confident that it'll do it with no problem. Not saying the r3 can't do it but im more comfortable with a cbr300 in the long run

    • @Madcircle70
      @Madcircle70 Před 4 lety +5

      DEEZ DONUTZ no regrets at all. Didn’t like the more aggressive seat position of the 600. Wanted something cheap to learn on and develop beginner rider habits. Being able to open the throttle with a 300 & shift properly was more important than going 0-60 in 3 seconds.

      I would only say that after the first year I do want to go faster. But it's really all about what you're doing. You can always trade it in, but expect to only get about 2000$ on the offer.

      My mid life crisis at 49 Feb 2019 - happened to know someone on Facebook selling her CBR300R when I was going for my Learner's. No regrets not getting a 600. I think it's suitable as a "beginner's bike" BUT... it's more than that. It holds its own on freeways so I'll be keeping it for quite a while.

    I love this bike. I've owned a Kawasaki Z1000, a Yamaha FZ6, and this bike and this one is by far my favorite. Just know, many motorcycle enthusiasts will not respect this bike because of the small displacement - ignore them. At this point in my life, I'm not interested in doing wheelies and running from the cops. I just want to feel connected to the road and have a bit of fun tossing a lightweight machine around. This bike is perfect for that!

    Hehe, I got a 2016 black and red CBR300RA (with ABS). I too also squeeze my bike out between two family cars to get it out, I too have a black and red Shoei helmet with the integrated Sena bluetooth system. I too had a slight oil leak issue which I had to pay a mechanic to fix (mine was purchased used) It's also my first bike so I have limited experience, however, I think it's a little under-rated. Most videos and reviews I see about the CBR300R seem to emphasise how much of a "beginner's" bike this is, but I intend to keep mine for a long time. It may be considered low-powered (for a sports bike) but it still has plenty of room to accelerate on the highways and freeways even at over 100kmph/60mph and can go fast enough to break the law. While I'm sure a 600 or Liter super sports would be thrilling fun, this bike still looks as cool and is cheaper to run than my hybrid car! With the price of fuel these days, I'm in no hurry to "upgrade"

      what about Suzki GSX250R? ........or this bike here.....or another 300 to consider would be a Yamaha YZF-R3. The Yam R3 is like a smaller less powerful version of the R6. So the 250 Suzuki, the Honda CBR300 or the Yamaha R3 are all great bikes for new riders - they're sport bikes but without the phenomenal power than bigger sports bikes like 600's, 750's and upwards have. The 250, and 300's won't scare you and are ideal for starting off with when considering a sportsbike. They would all be fine for using on the highway, but perhaps not ideal for touring. They're more for commuting, and short weekend ride outs with mates etc, and shorter journeys on highway routes.

    Would you recommend this bike for a smaller rider? I’m only about 115 pounds, looking for a smaller displacement bike and like this one but don’t know if I’m pushing my limits.

    • @axioaxis9539
      @axioaxis9539 Před rokem

      At 115 lbs you’re literally the perfect size for this you’ll be able to keep up with 600’s thru twisty roads easy obviously you’re not gonna be pushing triple digits often but at your weight u can easily hit 110mph on the freeway, the seat height is around 30in so very accessible for anyone to sit on from 5’0”-5’10”, if you’re worried that a 300 is too much for you I’d recommend taking some riding courses cause a 300 is small game all things considered. Hope that helped 😁

    Newb question but how do you go from 1st to 2nd if Neutral is in between 1st and 2nd gear 🤔

    • @kameronmclendon557
      @kameronmclendon557 Před 3 lety +8

      Okay now, take my explanation with a grain of salt as I’ve only looked this stuff up because I want to ride soon, so I haven’t ridden myself.
      The typical fashion of a motorcycle gearbox is ‘1 down, 5 up’. When you start, you’re gonna be in neutral. Press down goes to one, then if you do *half* a shift up, it goes back to neutral. However, a *full* shift up kinda skips over neutral and goes into 2nd. And of course, you have the friction zone you have when you release the clutch to match your throttle so you don’t throw yourself. Now, I am told finding neutral coming down the gears can be tricky for a new(er) rider but can’t say myself.
      Practice makes perfect in that regard, and luckily I drive a manual transmission so it shouldn’t be too difficult for me to adjust accordingly.
      Because I know the gist of that type of transmission, even with me not riding yet I’m confident I’ll have it down more simply than those who don’t.
      Hope that helps! Like that guy said ^ just kinda get on one and feel for yourself. 😉

      Neutral is between 1 and 2 so it’s a half shift up from 1st gear

      You just pull thru neutral it's harder to go into neutral rather than 2nd don't over think it most everything is pretty simple designed and well thought out

    It looks much cooler than 300r and I have riding it for last 10years,went every terrain but honda never hesitated and comfort is good-its a sports tourer
