The only thing I think Jesse missed was to chapter select to ACT II, then type in the correct password for Hopeless Soul's account (2734).
You can see Hopeless Soul being caught off guard, poking the portal file over and over, until he notices you and disappears.
Then you can open the portal tool, and now it actually does something. It portals you straight to the boss fight at the end of ACT II.
Considering the fact that he claims that "it won't be easy to open another portal" to the next core file, adds more suspicion upon his character.

I managed to find most of the tickets on my own, but yeah, I ended up using these videos as guides for when I ran out of ideas for how to discover more tickets.
I was wondering if something would happen if you went on his account before he told you to. I'm surprised Jesse didn't think of that.
What I've learned from Wikipedia about the game's story elements:
The Where and When:
In 1252, the 7th Crusade was in full swing, but took place in Egypt, not Jerusalem. In fact, Jerusalem was under Muslim control since 1244 thanks to the Khwarezmians, who were fleeing the Mongols. As far as the actual Crusade itself goes, there didn't seem to be much going on with Jerusalem.
The Who and How:
Abu al-Kindi (full name Abu Yusef Yaqub ibn Ishaq ibn as-Sabbah ibn Omran ibn Isma'il al-Kindi) was known as The Philosopher of the Arabs and was a philosopher, polymath, physician, and musician. However, it seems unlikely he was involved in the death of someone in the 7th Crusade, having been dead since 873.
So based on what we've seen from the rest of the story, it seems Satan (or the hopeless soul, or Satan's son, or whoever) is just throwing some random stuff together in order to cause you to think you're a Crusader. The timelines don't match up (though it's entirely possible the Abu al-Kindi who is said to have killed you just shares a name with the famous philosopher, and that Theodore was killed at Jerusalem during that time, as the Crusaders did maintain other holdings in the Levant area during that period).
Most likely all of this research means nothing at all, but it was fun anyway. Then again, it could mean everything and I'm on the cusp of the true answer.

15:36 Just anyone wondering what the pokemon reference is there. That is the spot in the game where you would find Missingno, in the original Red/Blue pokemon games. You would have to use surf on the coast, on a spot where you were half on water, half on land. That's why he got the ticket when he was right on the border.
This game is amazing, the creator of Five Nights at Freddy's should learn how to make a batshit insane hidden storyline from this guy.

+TheAzertjuh this was a great game with a great soundtrack and a epic ending but no it cant be compared to undertale with its masterpiece of a sound track interesting characters choices and 3 epic endings. in fact it cant really be compared at all because undertale is a JRPG style adventure game and pony island ... switches between a lot of things but most of the time its a psychological horror game. what im getting at is i love both of theses games and i think they are a great start to the year hopefully we get more :)

Sure, Satan could be the Hopeless Soul, but he could also just as easily be lying in an attempt to frame the Hopeless Soul so that you never uninstall the game and leave him trapped here.

This game made me realize how going insane must feel like. Good job, Pony Island.
Wonder what would have happend in the final fight if you lost all the hopeless souls. For each mistake there the counter goes up and the amount of ponies on screen reduces, but I would not be surprised if you would not just loose once every pony is gone.

Undertale was the earthquake, and this game is the first aftershock. I want more! MORE! Show those stupid business suits and conference boards that there is no recipe for the perfect video game. There is only blind luck, a few good ideas and a lot of creativity.

Arche Knight I don't think the Undertale, and most importantly, Earthbound "recipe" can be copied easily, so I still have hope for more of these psychological games.
Besides, it's more interesting than, let's say: dozens of Doom clones, one hundred WoW clones, uncountable brown military shooter sequels and a few failed attempts at making a MOBA.

There is actually evidence that supports Jesse's theory of the whole Crusader story. The game says he died attempting to take Jerusalem in 1252 (if I remember correctly), while the actuall siege of Jerusalem took place in 1099, almost 200 years before the date given. So there's that

My little theory is that the hopeless soul was the developer of all the pony games (I'm sure a parallel could be drawn to the IRL developer as well). This would explain why he's there in the first place, why he's able to summon up all these devil heads (he created them), why he can mess with the coding of the game, why his fights take place in all of the previous renditions of the game (they're call-backs to his former works). It would also be why the only game not really featuring a pony, but instead a demon, was the only game not used by helpless soul as it was stated to be made solely by the devil. Thoughts?

Let us not forget that the devil is the Father of Lies. Why would the big devil head be granting you correct visions of your past as a crusader? I agree with Jesse when he says that the whole crusader story is simply a ploy to make you believe that the Lost Soul really has been trying to help you, and that by freeing him you are totally benign. When, in reality, this entire game is just a trick, a trap, for the unweary and easily manipulated. I feel that a strong underlying theme of this game is demonstrating Lucifer's complete distortion of reality and lies. As a wise man once said, never make a deal with the devil.
the dev team for this game are geniuses, how on earth would you think on so many levels with so many secrets, tricks and hidden things.

Switching that 0 to 1 in the save file turned the hopeless soul into Satan.

This and Undertale really shows what great devs can make, really hope that we will see more from these devs, this is definitely better game for me personally, and even a top contender for game of the year

+Matěj Rytych Not even close IMO. It does some cute things yes, but the story is far less intricate and more brute forced IMO. That's mostly because this game is so short though.
TheAzertjuh story of the Undertale is nothing special too, its the atmosphere, characters and breaking of the UI what makes its charm

There are a few mysterious in undertale yes but for the most part the story can be told in 1 play through while a second can reveal more while this game you have to edit the game files to find out the true story i mean it was such a mindfuck. and while undertale thinks its cheeky with it knowing ehat you have done the fact that the game basicly says to free everyone you must uninstall the game is pretty cool. plus the 3rd boss was designed so well i mean it tricks you with fake steam notifactions thats amazeing. They are both good games but overal to get the whole story of either game you have to go through a lot more with pony island the undertale.

Welp. That Missingno reference is pretty accurate. In Blue and Red, surfing on the coastal tiles on the right side of Cinnabar Island made you encounter pokemon from the Safari Zone and if certain numerical values dependent on your name (citation needed) matched up, you'd encounter glitched things like lvl 100+ kangaskhan and also Missingno. In this game you triggered Missingno by walking into the water from the land.

While I believe that Undertale has a better story/narrative, this game is the more meta of the two, and it's story is a very close second.

Technically if you go off the Dante's Inferno interpretation, Satan is a Hopeless Soul, forever trapped in the lowest pit of hell half frozen in a lake of ice and bound, Hell tortures sinners but its Penultimate purpose is to keep him trapped, imprisoned for all eternity, sound familiar?
