    You can see why the V2 engines sound so good.
    The left cylinder arrives at the top a little later than the right.
    Because of that the firing interval is uneven and you get that burble sound. ❤️

      i had a honda and when i take it out after winter, it starts right away. A dude i knew had a harley, and it took hours
      to reanimate that dead piece of shit back to life. And a harley dealder knows their customers by their first name, because
      the customers come there very often to buy new parts and then talk about how awsome the quality is.
      Now when you walk into a honda dealer, then they will be suprised when you need a new part, because it's not usual that something
      wears on a honda, and then you have to wait a few days because they don't have that part in stock because they don't sell many of them.
      And then they need to know your name and number and the vin number or else they can't even find it, but at the harley shop all you need is
      year and model and then they know what you need and always have a few in stock because those quality parts sell like hotcakes.

Apparently they closed the last US based assembly plant in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, in March, and is still closed.......also, as we read their balance sheets, Harley has total debt liability over 9 billion dollars, and we now know sales for Q2 of 2020 down by more than 50%...... Harley is asking banks for an additional 1.3 billion in loans, but doubtful they will get that.

      Since motorcycle treadmills test Tq at the wheel, after the engine Tq has traveled thru the transmission and final drive to get to the wheel, comparing the outputs of 2 motorcycles on the treadmill is useless.......In order to get comparable test results you would need to run the bikes in gears that produce the same speed per RPM
      For example my crotch rocket claims more Tq and HP than my Kawasaki 1700......forget the weight, my crotch rocket runs 58 mph at 4000 rpm in 6th gear, my 1700 runs 70mph at 2500 rpm......if the 1700 was tested in a gear that runs 58mph at 4000rpm then the Tq would be comparable........if the crotch rocket had a gear that ran 70mph at 2500rpm it probably wouldn't run, but if it did it would show way less Tq at the wheel
      Any engine of close cc that has a longer stroke will produce more engine Tq........engine Tq is the amount of boom times 1/2 the stroke length in 1 cylinder
      Harley tests Tq on the motorcycle treadmill, then run the results thru a reduction equation to better match actual engine Tq

The crank weight is sized to "average out" the imbalances of the pistons and rods, but that still leaves a residual imbalance. Luckily, if the crank weight is properly sized, this residual imbalance is approximately circular, which neans a single balance shaft can eliminate most of the vibrations.

      The Honda Goldwing is liquid cooled and is one of the best touring motorcycles ever made. Liquid cooled engines have tighter clearances, perform better and last longer. Remember the old VW beetles? They had air cooled engines and they were garbage.

    • @JETZcorp
      @JETZcorp Před 4 lety +2

      The difference between the two is not all that great, compared to other differences. Air-cooled is simpler, easier to work on, and doesn't face internal corrosion issues if you're buying a neglected vintage bike. Water cooled can have greater cooling capacity and can keep temperatures in a tighter range, allowing tighter tolerances and higher performance. In reality though, unless your bike has a very high-powered engine (eg sport bike or MX bike) then the primary benefit of water cooling will be emissions. Air-cooled engines can be made quite powerful. There are thousands of air-cooled 250cc engines running around, making more power than the VW car engine that someone above mentioned. There are also lots of big, low-performance slugs that are water-cooled. Cruisers are so big and mellow that they can very easily be cooled either way. Other design criteria make more of a difference. Only very poor engineers would make an engine where the air- or water-cooling would be a deal-breaker. So choose your bike based on other factors that are important to you, such as looks and performance, and then if you're worried about it, check to see if that particular model has cooling-related issues.
