So glad you are commenting on and breaking down Layne’s beatboxing for us. What he does amazes me.
If you want to hear him go crazy, watch My Mother Told Me.
Thanks!!
Yeah okay.
My Spanish is not even close to your English.
That declaration aside... holy ducking shit you are impressive Xureck. Thank you for sharing your joy and passion with us here
ahhahaha i just read all your comments!
And don´t worry, i can understand your spanish :D
Thanks for your support!! Really appreciate it
Each voice, bass or otherwise, have a different timbre. Geoff's voice is rich, with more harmonic content than Tim Foust. What all us basses have in common, we tend to "croak" at the beginning of our words that start low.
wow so you´re a bass :D
No worries on what language you’re speaking. I like to watch/listen to you regardless. 😉
This one features the bass more than the beatboxing. I would LOVE to see you react to their Little Mermaid Medley. Their beatboxer really does more in that one. Some cool sounds. :-)
Little Mermaid Medley, copied!
I´ll stop saying that for the next vids hahah
@@Xureck23 I enjoy your content a lot. Keep it coming! 🙌🥰
The beatboxer, Layne, is super talented and in other songs he incorporates a lot of different interesting sound effects. This was not really the best beatboxing example from Voiceplay for you to react to. Hopefully you can try a different one like maybe the Little Mermaid medley, Sha-Boom, Carry on Wayward Son, or Kidnap the Sandy Claws. I think I remember interesting effects in those.
I would love to see him :)
Captions are ready :3
So glad cause I don't speak that language
Very excited for this video😁✨
Thanks!!
This was very interesting and informative! This was definitely a song to showcase Geoff, so yeah, not as much interesting from Layne this time. I hope you will listen to more of their songs - their latest, My Mother Told Me, has some more interesting vocal percussion.
OMG, you're actually a really good beatboxer!
ayy Thanks!!
@@Xureck23, no hay problema, mí amigo.
Been waiting for this reaction for a while!
yaaaas!
¡¡¡¡Dios mío!!!!
¡Gracias!
Me encanta este canción y me encanta este relación. ¡Gracias!
Love your reactions and your beatbox, my friend! Keep up the great work!
Thanks!!!
I really enjoyed your analysis and would love for you to do more of VoicePlay. In The Hall Of The Mountain King was just done last month. It is one of the movements from Peer Gynt Suite by Edvard Grieg in 1875 and has no language, just vocalizations of the music.
Love watching your reactions! I learn more from your videos in a few minutes than I did with a tutor for hours. I'm even picking up some Spanish!
I don't speak Spanish, but listening to you speak it I'd just like to say that you make that language sound soooooo beautiful.
Maybe check out Layne Stein's vocal range video in which sample of his work are shown, including high and low notes as well as beatboxing, Carry On Wayward Son and The LIttle Mermaid feature him more, Sh-Boom is also good.
I like how you broke this down. I can whistle on both an inhale and exhale, and can whistle a tune while breathing normally.
It's not super impressive, but it gives me an idea about what you mean about breathing while beatboxing.
Wow sounds sick...
Yeah, thath thing with the k snare, is that requires to inhale throught your mouth and makes immposible to exhale at the same time. But theres another types of snares that allows you to exhale, so theres where you can use your nose to exhale and use it as a cymbal...
Regarding your discussion about Geoffs double track, he's definitely doing the baseline and singing in this one. When they perform live I bet J None (their baritone) does it, Eli (tenor) can do it as well, but for the videos they tend to do double tracks when necessary because it sounds better. I'm sure Pentatonix does the same, they use the same editor after all. I don't know why they wanted you to react to this song in particular though, it's an amazing song but it's not one where Layne truly shows off his talent (aside from his arrangement talents of course).
Great reaction/analysis bro! Your beatboxing is amazing!!! So good! I had Spanish in school but I was not the best 😂
Ayy! Thanks bro! You know i love your work as well! :3
I'm sorry you were treated so badly over your expert opinion. It is why I am here and why I subscribe to you. Pentaholics go way overboard. They do make sure that they can perform live anything they put out. BUT, you are absolutely right in that they use post production on all their non-live videos. They even admit it. Xureck, keep being you and stay awesome.
I learned so much! Thanks. You are very talented.
So I’m compelled to weigh in here because of your skill and dedication as first Lieutenant.
Eli does base fill when Geoff is busy.
In Pentatonix, Scott sings bass when Avi (or Matt) isn't. The beat boxer is actually a wonderful tenor.
Yeah! I love when they do that!
If you search "layne stein vocal range" you will ser that he isn't a tenor, he can do bass
I am truly cursed.
Like your work man
Thanks man, really appreciate it...
This was more like a beatbox class xD
mmm yes, love Geoff's low note there, i have watched too many reaction videos of this song now.
They compared you to Donald Trump? Daamn, that's harsh! How rude of them. (Donald Trump is going to become the new Hitler in terms of ultimate internet insults, isn't he? I can see it already...)
Thank you for these videos - I've learned so much from them. I'll never be a beatboxer myself (and don't have any burning desire to be, if I'm honest,) but I enjoy discovering how the magic is done, via your awesome skills.
Yeah! They did! But it´s ok now :)
Thanks!! That´s the point of making this type of videos and im happy that you mention that! :D
Nice 😎
No sabes k mami? :3

Hola mi bro, oye una canción que te super recomiendo de voiceplay, de las mejores que tienen, se llama "The phantom of the opera" ojalá veas este comentario y te animes a hacer la reacción, ahí si tiene bastante beatbox
Don’t mind the Spanish.
:3
In studio layers are added. Sometimes 3 or more recordings are stacked
Yeah! That´s a natural thing on studios, but some people get angry if you mention that :)
@@Xureck23 Ben Bram, the arranger for PTX, and many other bands, said they layer in the studio. So any one who says differently is mistaken and should be ignored if they insist otherwise.
Layne said he did layer in this. Him and Geoff both.
@@rathar I'm a little surprised Layne layered himself in this (I knew for sure Geoff was layered, because there's a bass line while he's singing lead). I wonder what he needed to layer for his own performance.
Dude, Layne provided the song with the percussive support that it needed rather than launching into an ego filled beatboxing rant.
I know, that's what I said...
@@Xureck23 My apologies, I guess I misunderstood what you said. What you said in English sounded to me like you felt that what Layne did was to basic, not as complex and impressive as you expected. I am sure that in Spanish you said many great things about Layne's abilities.
Xureck......por favor return to Pentatonix and Home Free. Gracias mi amigo. 😀😀
Hi Ryan!
I will, don´t worry :3
A ver, búscale :3
Saludos :D
You picked a not very good song to analyze laynes beatboxing. I’d take a listen to another one to realize his true skills.
Well, this was recommended so i did it, but still i will continue doing some more Voiceplay Analysis :3
@@Xureck23 perfect, excited for you to do a more beatbox elaborate video!
Qué bueno no hayas necesitado subtítulos jajajaj :D
He aprendido hoy bastante vocabulario musical.
Well, I'll say it - screw the person that said you were egocentric like Donald Trump (auto-translate may not have translated correctly but that's what I got out of it). We all have opinions, even in our given professions and we're allowed to disagree. Now that being said, I'm not an expert but I think that part was layered in as they sometimes do for their studio performances vs their live performances (and as you thought might be the case). I believe all the groups do that to a certain extent.
I agree this wasn't this best one for beatboxing. I second the recommendation for Carry On Wayward Son by Voiceplay - lots of beatboxing in that one (even a breakdown spot).
Thanks!!! I check the captions before posting them, and yes, it was with Trump... it doesn’t make sense, but anyways, that’s that person opinion.
Yeah, I’ll check another one of them, that’s why I appreciate suggestions. This one was suggested so I thought in this I’ll be seeing more beatboxing... but it was good though ☺️
You talk to much. I understand the reacting but watch the video too.
