The year is 2037. Finding a vase in Risk of Rain 2 now allows you to skip every stage, teleporter, pillars, and all mitrhix stages, ending every run in only a few minutes with no combat required. Racers no longer even pick up preons and capacitors unless truly desperate. There are no FMP builds anymore. Only vase.
"In December 2036 when during a looped challenge run, a speedrunner discovered that at very precise angles Vase can actually do infinite damage and clip through terrain stopping at any interactable. On top of last months discovery that you could skip teleporter events by a frame perfect teleporter activation upon exiting the wormhole, world record is currently 0:47 seconds."
Just point the vase to another planet
if you're really precise you can land it directly in the boss arena from anywhere on the planet, arriving straight on top of mithrix' head

Mithrix's only weakness: Object permanence
i mean he does only have one eye
About 11:55, there isnt really a threshold for damage to cause aggro swaps, but a timer of a few seconds where the AI will "listen" for what recently hit it and retarget when it runs out (possibly 5 seconds?), so even a measly gunner drone will steal aggro unless the damage on mithrix is constant (like from a dot or high firerate). This is also why Mithrix tends to focus down on high firerate or bleed-causing players instead of slow hitters in coop, as they tend to trigger attacks right after this timer runs out.

Technically, it works for phase 3 or you can always just use a well timed Diablo Strike with fire band. So, now we have Phase 1, 3 and 4 skips

@@Cap_ how would it work in multiplayer? Wouldnt mithrix attack the other player? Or would both players need to get on his head?
@@Jqcksremmurd The exploit only requires that the person who has aggro is always in the right position, so in multiplayer there's two options.
1: One person gets in position then everyone triggers the fight. Only the person on Mithrix's head attacks, because anyone else taking aggro would wake him up.
2: Same as number one, but other people also get on top of Mithrix's head. As long as all the attackers are positioned properly, than anyone he aggros should still be a negative distance away and he should stay dormant.
Keep in mind that Engi's turrets _may_ get in the way of other player's attacks, I can't remember if they're solid for your teammates or not.

I'm guessing in multiplayer, only one player has to stand on top as long as the others don't aggro Mithrix? Similar to the interaction with engi and his turret?
I literally did this by accident when playing with my brother on the same day I found this video. Mithrix just stood there and we were confused for a while so we didn't do anything either. Then my brother hit him and Mithrix charged after him immediately. What a weird interaction

Cap I’m confused. After you get Mithrix out of his dormant state, wouldn’t tentabauble do technically nothing? If I have 100% proc chance (hypothetical) and I stand right next to him applying root, he can’t move or attack right? What’s the point of trying to get the glitch off when he’s not dormant when tentabauble can just produce the same effect? Does mithrix have the ability to move / attack when in tentabauble? Is there a like 10 frame cooldown on when you can apply tentabauble and standing on top of him stops that? I’m confused.
Yeah mithrix is still able to use his attacks while tenta'd. so pizza, jumping to the center, etc. aren't stopped just by having tenta without the tech

Droneman and/or Empathy Cores may break him and all, but if you have those, you've basically already skipped the whole fight.

Man I’m making my eclipse climb on switch. I’ll try my best. But I have done something similar to the vase tech unintentionally before. So there is some precedent
in theory it should work, there's no reason it shouldn't unless the console versions mess with how distances get calculated

@@Cap_ I genuenly do not understand your point and your response, the Mithrix bossfight is very simple with only a few key strategies to understand, there simply is not enough "bossfight" to "master" it for over 1000 hours. At most, it should only take an average person a few dozen deaths, maybe double of that if they're a slow learner, but in no way is thousands of hours justified to spend on mastering just one bossfight alone. Mithrix runs at you and you avoid his attacks, it should be obvious how to do that on the first time you see it, I'm genuenly perplexed at the mention of "thousands of hours to truly master" at the start of the video. There are no special behavior interactions between the boss and each individual survivor, he doesn't do commando, or huntress, or bandit specific attack patterns that do not happen on any other survivors. Mithrix is very predictable and straight forward. I've beaten Eclipse 8 and there is almost no difference, perhaps he is a little bit faster? But the strategy against Mithrix and his own attacks stay the same.

Anybody that plays eclipse seriously knows that chronobauble is a great item. In monsoon it’s not as needed because enemies are just so much slower but chronobauble is basically a movement speed item
