Did you know that the Groupo Frontera didn’t know Bad Bunny was going to be on the song until the day of video shoot. They were told that they had a surprise. After they did the 1st run they announced to the group they were going to do another version of the song. They were so shocked to see Bad Bunny coming out and they never heard the lyrics to his version . The Group reactions show their faces and smiles are truly reacting to Bad Bunny singing with them. ❤
This is awesome. That just made the music video that much better. You can definitely see the joy on their faces getting to jam perform together.
i heard this too that they were all so hyped and excited actually filming the video
@@whatupitsmanny I’ve been following Group Frontera, they are from the Valley where my family is from so to hear them collaborating with Bad Bunny is amazing! They have given interviews talking how they linked up with Bad Bunny by their producer Edgar Barrera.
Very talented brother you should do: si me Piden un paro by bajo prefil
Hi, Seth. This is "Cumbia Norteña" (Northern cumbia in english), and is a style from the north of México, that's the reason that is also popular in Texas. Some people also used to call it Texmex, and Selena was some of the best in this genre. Saludos desde Ciudad Juárez - El Paso.
Whoaaaa, that's cool how even with a border the music still grows across the land. That's awesome.
Tex Mex ain’t the same as cumbia norteña tho
Is cumbia norteña or cumbia texana. Is different from texmex. Is music style from northeast culture (Nuevo Leon, Texas, tamaulipas and coahuila), rio grande valley, Texas and northen tamaulipas and Monterrey are the powerhouses for this style.
Yeah respectfully Joe, Cumbia Tejana❤ from the Rio Grande Valley
This genre is very popular in the rio grande valley of Texas. Some call them cumbias lites or simply just cumbia norteña/tejano
Like some folks have pointed out…it’s a cumbia norteña. Cumbia is a very danceable style of music that originated in Colombia, it’s been adapted to Norteño music. I did a video on the different types of “regional” music a few years back. Many of todays Mexican genres are a combination of different styles of music/instrumentation. from all over the world.
What about tejano music whats the diffrence ??
Found the channel a couple weeks ago. You’re a natural bro keep jamming 🔥
Thank you!!
waiting on la vida ruina by Ariel Camacho 😈
The ultimate test
Thank you❤for enjoying music like this… I went on a journey and just hearing the strings play and your comments brought back so many memories with my dad… he passed 7 years ago and going through this song progression with you was most needed because we would sit with my dad playing and it was just soooo amazing. Thank you.
That's beautiful thank you. Thank you for sharing this moment with me!
Genre: Norteño (Instruments and Instrument arrangements)
Style: Cumbia (rhythm and beat)
This style of Norteño music saw it's high in the late 90s and early 2000's. It is really a dying style. There has been sporadic hits but far in between in the last years. There is a few bands including Frontera who are trying to salvage what is left of it. Trying to resurrect it and trying to keep it from facing the same faith as Tejano. The cousin from across the river. Outside of Frontera's songs I can think of one other hit a while back. "Mi Trokita Cumbia" from Grupo Obzesion. Other than Frontera's songs and Mi trokita can anyone think of another recent Norteño Cumbia hit?
Tan Bella y tan presumida - secretto and Bonita - Los dorados
@@oncefriedbeans5113 Those are great songs too. I like both of them.

When it’s good
Music the language doesn’t matter , the feeling is what matters when you get goosebumps you know it’s a hit 👍❤️
Bro you blowing up! I seen you in a vlog with fuerza and chino pacas in a boat! 🔥🔥🔥😂
Thank you! Send a link to the vlog in the comments here, I'd love to watch it!`
@@SethCottengim czcams.com/video/OKOz20Ltwno/video.html i only see you taking shots lol!
Its cumbia norteña brother theyre actually from here from mcallen tx that style has always been here in this region but never escalated like they did it im proud to say that theyre putting south texas on the map
Sur de texas? Son de México y ese género es de México es norteño mezclado con combias rebajadas famosas en el norte, más que nada en Nuevo León.

Es Pura musica Tejana con sabor Cumbia !
Bro, I still can't believe there's a representative for each individual in youtube. I'm from Turkey and studied a semester in Spain. Fell in love with language and the music and now I'm obsessed with it. Plus I'm playing guitar but I'm at one tenth of your skill level :D Having extreme fun watching your videos while satisfying my two obsessions. Guitar and spanish music. One thing I might ask from you is how can I improve my guitar skills in order to break it down to the chords and figure the song out quickly as you do.. subbed btw ofc. big hugs.
Duuuude this is awesome. Stay tuned and I'll make a video of how I learn songs by ear. My tip for now is I start by listening for the bass line. If you find the base 2 to 4 bass notes in a song its much easier to nail down what chords are being played
Hi, thats a beautiful song, similar cords as the song played by Bobby Pulido Desvelaado a tex mex song in the late 90’s early 2000’s if you haven’t hear it, listen to it. Nice work of yours! 👍🏻.
Ugh i looove that song too
Let’s go another vid love the vids man keep it up❤
Lot's more coming!!
I love your work and style! keep it up ☺️
so happy you pointed out the triplet hit hat... my favorite detail of the whole song
You did great spealing spanish, dont worry! I found ur channel because of the reaction, great skills and reaction btw! 😊
Absolutely felt what you did there on minute 12:46❤❤❤❤❤
@7:58 This is a south Texas brand of Tejano which has more of a traditional norteno influence. The style is credited to Intocable, from Zapata TX. Similar style bands would be Siggno, Costumbre, Duelo, Iman, etc. Great music. Grupo Frontera is from Edinburg TX in the RGV. I’m glad you notice the different musical influences in this style.
Tejano is known for blending many styles from different genres. (Rock, R/B, Country, Jazz, etc)
This group has said in interviews they wrote these cumbias for our generation to have new jams for our functions. I live just up the highway from where guys originate from- I from where Selena is from and ur hearing German polka influence. So much fusion of ppl we grow around who’s parents r also immigrants and our home-Mexico. And they live in a boarder town so the norteno is also there. I love that ur messing w ur guitar the whole time- I’ve learned a few of these songs, I can’t get enough.
Love your reactions amigó instantly became a fan of your channel great work
Greetings from Monterrey N.L. Mex!
I ve just found your channel, amazing job bro.
Just started to follow you. Not sure if someone answered. This is Tejano music. In a sense, it's Mexican-American country music born in Texas. It's the mix of U.S. genres with the regional music of northern Mexico and other Latin American music genres. In this case, it's a cumbia played in a "country" style. I'm sure you can hear the R&B influences in the chord progressions.
Seth my guy! I appreciate everything you do for the youtube community! I been trying to figure out Cuantos Dias by Herencia Alterada and it’s tuff to figure out. Hook it up with a tutorial 💯👌🏼
I like this content keep it up man !
i remember when u told me to but a donner guitar and now i can play anything keep it up
It's called cumbia norteño. Check out Bobby Pulio. Grupo duelo, intocable , and Ramon Ayla .

Do more tejana! Try Sueña by Incotable. Do you have a bajo quinto? That’s what they use for rhythm.
Hi there, the lyrics of this song are pretty cool, is such a great song
I need to do some translating haha
@@SethCottengim don't worry my friend I'm Mexican I can help you out with that there's a lot of Mexican Slang but we can work it out wanna start with this one???
So happy I got to see Grupo Frontera live🙌🔥
Seth i know you just posted but i request if you can do a guitar tutorial on “la ultimata Vez” by ivan cornejo you do so well at explaining the the cords and it will greatly appreciated thank you!!!
That smile was their excitement of bad bunny being in the song. They didn’t know till the day of the video shoot
Only the 2nd white person I've seen react to this song. It's mind boggling because the song had 110 millions views in just 2 weeks!!! Really wish white people would stop using the "language barrier " as an excuse to accept and assimilate to latino cultures the way they do to black culture. It's such a good song and the lyrics hit the heart. I will say I've seen many Black brothers react and love the song. Nice to see you enjoyed it. The style is tex-mex cumbia. I'm now subscribed to the channel
YOU ARE KILLING IT MY BOYYYY🥳🫶🏼
Tejano music/Cumbia Norteña….it’s on record in an interview from Grupo Frontera themselves saying that’s their sound. Tejano/Norteño. Either way. These guys are awesome 👏 and represent South Texas 🤠👏
SOMEBODY INVITE THIS MAN TO THE CARNE ASADA!!!
You should do “ Negro como la pantera “ by chino pacas & Calle 24 🔥🔥
great video man keep up the good work you should reviewing rosa pastel by peso pluma and jesiel nunez
the title works like this, the 'x' in spanish es 'por' which means to multiply. 100 in spanish is 'cien'. so its like a play on words. un x100to= un 'por'cien'to= 1 percent. thanks for showing love to our music.
Wow you got the notes!
That's Tejano Music means TexMex by Mexican/ American artist from Texas...I live on the border grew up listening to Tejano...
You should do Asi Lo Quiso Dios by Eslabon Armado and Luis R Conriquez
Ain't this off the new album??
@@SethCottengim Yes, their new album is pretty great so far
Hi Seth, so awesome that you took a liking to our music congrats on your musical journey. I’m from the northern state of Nuevo León mx. this type of music is our bread and butter. I would like to add to your musical catalog by suggesting two other types of styles that are accordion and 12 string heavy, they are huapangos and polkas. Please react to Toro Josco by Los Viejones de Linares. And for polkas react to triple x polka by BadassAccordion, thanks my friend have a blessed day.
Mannn!!! That intro you do idk if you making it up but I always think you boutta start playing Sembrado by Peso Pluma.. !! Listen to it!
ur such a goat seth
Hey I think it would be cool if u did bass videos too on songs and show adornos and the chords
yooo what's that song at 0:23 I've been looking for it for so long
Review carlos ulises gomez requitos. I think hes got one of the most unique styles in the genre (imo) songs like el gross (beging and middle part acustic) and momentos de ti. Great job.
hey Seth i think you should really react to Atrapado en un Sueño!!!
Mis respetos brother
You should react to Sobran Motivos by Conjunto Real y La Pócima Norteña!!! You’ll love the drums by guy!
Seth, you are one cool dude, plus you know what's up with good jams... Please react to El Azul by Peso y Junior H and then you will be pronounced honorary Mexican lol!
Hi Seth, you should listen to Intocable (norteño/tejano). I love your content!
Day 1 of requesting how you strum on your corrido videos 😊
You should do Culpable Tu by Alta Consigna
Not sure if he’s using a bajo quinto or sexto, but on the recording it’s the bajista and the producer playing a 12 string Takamine.
It’s Tejano music, created by Mexican Americans (Texans from the valley.)
And regios, many of this groups have regios that live in rio grande valley.
MUST TRY IS DENVER RULETEAMOS BY JAVIER ROSAS Y SU ARTILLERÍA PESADA Y LOS MINIS DE CABORCA!!! damn thats a long to write 😂
I'll add it to the list!
Shut the front door my dude! Your Spanish is good bro! Just keep it up!
Hey bro have you reacted to the song called.. El Gavilan.. ? Peso pluma is in that one. If not than you should
You should try it on the 12th string guitar 🎸 please brother
Theses guys are from the south of Texas. By McAllen and valley area
La vida ruina by Ariel Camacho both requinto parts :DDD
bro react to 100 dias 100 noches by lumar perez there's a crazy requinto solo on it
Cumbia Texana/Norteña (debatable but either style is correct since they are based out of Texas) , normally played with bajo quinto(10 string) or bajo sexto(12 string) but sounds like 6 string guitar on this recording since they they don't sound as heavy.
You have to do Pacas De Billetes
🔥 Tomas Ballardo -Soy Manuel 🔥
Its Tejano music from South Texas
React to abcedario by junior h the guitar and vocals in this song are so good and I want to hear you do the requinto for this song because it's very creative
Hey bro you should do a reaction video to Danny Felix playing tololoche/bajoloche and requinto también!
You’re a beast lol
It’s Tejano, Tex-Mex. Look up Intocable, Emilio Navaira, Etc
Bro if you react to somos gente de sombrero by cuatro de oro you’ll like it a lot
It would be fire if you could try to play) Donde Estara by Anthony Santos. It’s Dominican bachata
El Hechizo de Peso Pluma pleaseeee 🙏🙏🙏
you should do a reaction for Empresa SM from chuy montana!!!!
Your comment about Mexican zac brown band is cute & sweet, but I do want to clarify the OG's of country or where the american country culture came from is Mexico. Texans and southern ppl living that cowboy style, dress, music, etc copied the Vaqueros as we know the West Coast was Mexico's so more like Whites singing/playing music Mexican style
It was not copied beacuse is was created in that area (northen Mexico and southern USA), it have a blend of different traditions and cultures from Spaniards settlers, native Americans, Europeans immigrants and cryptojews.
Do TQM by fuerza regida!👌
he smiled because they didnt know who was going to sing with them
React to el beisbolero by cuatro de oro please. Requinto is crazy
Norte- cumbia, I think Also known as texmex, I’d say Selena Is the one that got started it or made it popular, I may be wrong. Don’t attack me lol
"Don't attack me" hahaha
@@SethCottengim internet has no filter one wrong thing and it’s over 😅
Ramon Ayala and eliseo Robles are the ones that started this texano cumbia movement in the late 70’s and 80’s. And in the 90’s and early 2000’s it have a new wave with groups like intocable, duelo, pesado and Bobby pulido
u should do mejor acabar by eslabon and junior h
You should do La Barca by Luis Miguel. Listen to it!!
Last chord on the melody is a major
Could you do Castigada by ldne?
Seth can u show us how to play adueñarme by Nivel Codiciado plz
Yo ik the video isn't avout this but desde morro was fire 🔥
hahaha thank you!
Aka now as cumbia urbana
Is that what they decided to call this "sub genre"?
I would love to do a tutorial for Mafia de la calle by Angel Tumbado
This is cumbia norteña Tex mex if you will . You’d probably love Intocable or Grupo Limite
