    It always surprises me how many Americans and Europeans choose NOT to live in/spend a lot of time in places like Colombia. The cost of living and quality of life is so superior, it's like turning down a golden opportunity for no good reason.

      Duncan, you are completely right! Unfortunately Colombia's reputation has kept many away but the word is slowly getting out. My wife and I are seeing more and more Americans and Canadians move here for early retirement.

      All most Americans know about Colombia is impressions they got from "Narcos" on Netflix, without realizing that was in the 80's and early 90's. EVERY country on the planet has changed a lot from the general impressions people have based on the past. None more than in North America! Colombia has been great to me.

    I wish I could live in his community. $300 for a furnished two bedroom apartment is a dream come true.

      You can do it. You just need to make a plan. That's what I did. Now I'm married to a beautiful, feminine woman and happier than ever before!

    I agree with Aaron, the coffee region is the best bang for the buck, and the weather is great.

    Colombia is no different from many countries as far as crime. Be safe, be cautious, don't be stupid.

      I'm glad you liked this video. Thanks for your advice, it is especially good for new expats in Colombia. As for myself, I've lived in Colombia for over a decade, I'm married to a Colombian, and I've traveled to many parts of Latin America since the age of 16. My company helps Americans retire in Colombia.

    It is almost always the same. Stated low rent rate but when you look at apartments for rent there is nothing even remotely close to the low rent stated. Maybe the name of the apartment complex may help.

      Moving to a new country can be challenging! Aaron is an experienced expat who knows how to find good deals. Unlike in the US, you need to put in the effort to physically drive or walk around to find an affordable apartment. Additionally, you must have the necessary language, cultural skills, and connections that expats like us have developed over many years. Consider seeking the help of an expert like us or an expat friend when searching for a place.

    My wife is a citizen. How much easier does that make the process?

    • @mylatinescape
      @mylatinescape  Před měsícem +1

      This will make the process easier, however, the requirements for a retirement VISA for US citizens are generally not hard to meet.

      DONT FOCUS ON DATING IN COLOMBIA. There are so many beautiful women here its like asking if a beach has more sand than another beach. Focus on quality of life.

    • @mylatinescape
      @mylatinescape  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thank you for a new video idea! If you're looking to just have fun and date around, you will definitely find this. Overall, I find people in the Armenia to be friendly and approachable.
      However, if you are looking for something more serious you will find it but, like everywhere, this will take more time. By the way, I also recommend checking out Pereira and Manizales.

    • @mylatinescape
      @mylatinescape  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Quality of life is top notch here in El Eje Cafetero (The Coffee Growing Region). If you are looking for girls you will find that, and if you're looking for quality of life you will find that, too. It just all depends on what you want.

    • @liveourbest2067
      @liveourbest2067 Před 7 měsíci +2

      @@mylatinescape Thank you for the response actually I'm not looking just to have fun sorry if it came off that way.
      As I said I lived in Peru 6 years and really enjoy the Latin culture.
      Especially the family values Latinos have as compared to the US.
      I'm not much of a bar guy I would prefer to meet a quality woman in other ways.

    • @mylatinescape
      @mylatinescape  Před 7 měsíci +1

      No worries, I was just trying to give you some options since I didn't know want your desires were. I think the city of Pereira best suit your needs. It's a nice city, big but not too big, and there are lots of things to see and do. And getting involved with a group or an activity is your best bet for finding a quality partner.
