The other thing that makes this insane with LB is that the energize stacks up on TOTAL UNITS TRAVELED. That means you get a big chunk to 100 when you W/R forward, but you ALSO get stacks when you recall back. Look at his stacks on and after the dive at 5:40

I don’t think you can achieve what the video shows in every match, even if you copy his build 100%. He plays well in the video, but that’s not the only factor. The other team has already lost their lanes and fallen behind. Udyr doesn’t even try to get any magic resist items, and he gets one-shot before he can do anything useful.

I'm almost positive they did see this comming, and left it in the game on purpose. This creates content, some players would return to play a couple of games just to try it. Riot are not that dumb
They said they're aware of mages like veigar using it when they buffed it but said it "doesnt appear strong" so it's ok
"they expected it and said it would be fun"
While I doubt they expected full AP LB abusing energized movement charge rate to such success, "it would be fun" is the devs/balance teams stated primary objective when releasing new content/massive changes. Essentially:
"our approach is to release something interesting and more importantly fun first, and then aim to tweaks things to approach a state healthy for the game (read: "balanced"). in the past we've made efforts to make something we thought was 'balanced' and missed the mark, with players finding it weak and uninteresting. this boring first impression leads to a negative experience for the players, and a lot of wasted effort of the team that worked hard on it. players dont fall in love with something underwhelming, even if its later buffed to be more in line with player expectations."
Also, I personally observe that if a thing is released OP and later nerfed, people will be mixed degrees of enthusiastic and frustrated on release, depending on which end of the experience they find themselves, but overall satisfied or indifferent later. Whereas if something is released underpowered and later buffed, people will be quick to dismiss and forget until its overtuned into viability, where the consensus is loudly negative; frustration, bitterness, resentment. Because the thing was so irrelevant (and rare) to begin with, it suddenly becoming meta can give the impression that its so hyper-relevant its in every game, 100% pick/ban, and cause "WTF" moments for players experiencing a blindside. eg: Rell rework Q stuns. Its been over 2 weeks and people are still surprised.
The fact that this is not a click bait is what's mind blowing. This item is on a whole other level of busted

I feel like even after the nerfs to shiv i might still build this or maybe stormrazor or something into ranged matchups. The w auto w combo (where you just w into auto range, and not actually deal damage with w) with an energized attack has some decent poke and you can heal up nicely with near 0 counterplay. I prefer full ap most of the time but this build is weirdly fun into harder matchups.

I tried this build at master MMR laning against rumble mid. It deals absolutely NO dmg at 1st item. Even after luden came out still felt like I deal little damage, cant 1shot a kaisa with all spell landed. But it works well late game, felt really good to 1 hit minion waves (clears super minions super fast). No dmg early game almost costs me the game.
cant 1shot kaisa with her knocked up by malphite R with this build at 2 item is absolutely insane to me, will not build statikk at 1st item ever again.
i played 10 games and won 8 of them... 2 of them was in Challenger!

This build inspired me to try this out on kayle top. Ngl statik makes kayle laning so easy lol. U clear waves so fast then just go to jungle. Even if your behind this item accelerates your farm so much. Still typical AP kayle just with statik, you can sell statik later on if you feel like. Yes, I am aware kayle has her waves, but till lvl 16 it takes 5 autos to proc, so to clear a wave you need probably 10 autos to clear it, but with statik you literally need 2 (1 statik proc, and 1 e). That's like 10 seconds saved to rotate or get jungle camps
Why do you need Fleet Footwork? Does it increase the speed you generate energized once you have shiv?
Do you think this setup (Fleet footwork + Statikk Shiv rush) will work on Sylas?

This build is more for DPS and burst. Luden’s much better here because you can unironically one shot anyone within 2 seconds. Liandry’s wouldn’t give you the same damage in such a short timeframe. :)

It’s hilarious to me how people can see the same pattern over and over and not understand it.
Riot releases new work in an overtuned state. They’ve gone on record as doing so.
The reason they do this is so that people will actually be excited to try it, and content creators can make these OMG CLICKBAIT videos to hype their work. It’s free advertising. It’s genius because you know nobody would actually read the patch notes but millions are watching, and if it breaks the game, as long as more people are playing it’s fine for Riot.
Once the item has had its honeymoon phase, then it gets the “really actually tuned numbers” Riot had for it all along as a “nerf”.
The only losers are the people still trying to rank up in the face of stupid balance like this. It would be fun if we could ban items right next to champs, though. Nobody on the team is allowed to build this item lol. (I’m proposing that you would choose between a champion ban and an item ban.)

What do you think about using Nashor instead of Lich Bane?
The point of the build is to AA only once. Lich gives you a big hit after an ability and a lot more AP. You do not need AS.
@@cosminionut4420 the point is to hit once, but the question is, do you usually have the ability to auto more frequently than once, giving Nashor's an edge. Can't really tell off this one video alone since it was a stomp, but since you already have some AS from Statikk, Nashor might work? Idk
Also, Nashor gives you more AP? Idk where you got that from, 15AP over Lich Bane, 50% attack speed, loses the MS and has a smaller sheen proc, but procs on every attack instead
@@EmilyAliceTempest The point is that you don't wanna be auto attacking more than you need to. Lichbane is nice because it gives you 1 big hit + it gives 7% MS which synergizes well with Statik Shiv + Fleet Footwork.

Update: OMG This works extremely well. I didn't know Static Shiv was part of LB's recommended items. It gave me so much lane pressure and split lane potential. I was able to take out most of the wave with only one auto attack which means I could save my W in the event I need to escape. She can also actually hurt towers with this item. It really does fix her wave clear problems. I wish I'd known about this sooner.
