H is how he developed the rasp voice that really made the Nevermind album so great.. if you listen to bleach you will see he had it a little. But i Nevermind you really hear it along with his voice tone. His singing in Bleach is more bassy.. when I was doing H, I would always have the rasp in my punk bands. Our early tapes I sounded like Roy Orbison singing punk. After I got hooked, I sounded like Dabzig in the Misfits plan 9 album. And my song writing definitely improved too.. I see the huge difference between Bleach and Nevermind albums as a before and after analog of proof of when he started using. They recorded all the songs on Nevermind and Incesticide albums in under a week. Bleach was recorded in 16 hours. But the songs were so much more well put together than in BLEACH. I love all the albums
