- We had a wonderful mini break in Wollongong recently, it is located about 68Km from Sydney and it is an easy drive. Lots to see and do.
We went to City beach, and walked around the gorgeous old light house, and enjoyed the wonderful cliff top views.
Wollongong is a coastal city in Australia, south of Sydney along the Grand Pacific Drive. Surfing beaches and rock pools line the coastline. Trails encircle the forests and rocky cliffs of Mt. Keira in the Illawarra mountain range, which frames the city. To the north, hang gliders launch from Bald Hill. South lie the Buddhist temple of Nan Tien and Lake Illawarra, a large lagoon with boating and fishing facilities.

Wollongong is fabulous, nice in that it is like a small coastal country town but with amazing amenities, the most glorious beaches (so many of them) and wonderful food and things to see. The pace is beautifully chilled, unlike Sydney. Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and for taking the time to watch ☺️

Hi Dean, LUCKY YOU!! What a gorgeous place The Gong is, and there are many many other beaches, this is just one I visited. I am sure you will be blissfully happy there, as it has lovely amenities but still has that lovely unhurried feeling to it! Best Wishes...

There are many fine beaches around this particular area, one just needs time to visit them all, hope you are well, I have to get cracking and catch 2 of yours I have missed since being away :)

Yes there were some body boarders there that day, surf was nice and powerful, you got a really good ride....
