At the end of the day it's just a name that people will get used to and wont even give it a second thought. I never think about what Samsung means, or Toyota or any other brand for that matter. Let's also remember that there's a little company named after a fruit 🍏 and it's doing pretty good. Nothing high end or fancy about an apple! Onvo will kill it! Thanks P
The amount of sales the “EC4” would have cannibalized from Nio’s ETs and ECs would be staggering. This is where we need to let the CEO make the decisions, not CZcamsrs or middle management. And of course a Nio manager would have preferred the car be a Nio instead of an Onvo because then they would be selling it. Again, big boys need to make the big boy decisions despite that decision being unpopular to those selling Nios.

Maybe in Chinese culture the name is important. I’m not a marketing expert but giving stuff away for free might attract a first wave of buyers but those buyers might not be back to buy a car for many years so what does it achieve.

The charging credits aren't a big cost. A lot of the people doing it are nio owners hoping to get nio credits, most credits will never be used. I had a phone call from an onvo sales person and when I said already had a Nio he was like "oh you are just trying to get nio credits" sounded like a lot of the people he was contacting were same as me, people with no real intention to buy the car. Nio might still struggle when other brands like xpeng are releasing models quite a bit cheaper than onvo is predicted to be. The L60 will be away better built car but most consumers just go on initial cost.

Everything matters when there's a lot of choice. I think people will see the ONVO stores next NIO stores and see the L60 as a NIO EC5 anyway. Happy road sounds good for a family EV, it's not meant to be NIO level luxury. No one will care about this name in the west, as long as quality tech and service is there.
And the stock goes lower. WTF!

sounds like management either does not have confidence in its product or the pre-order is much less than expected.
And they aren’t doing it to get sales, they are doing it to keep sales, if you ordered a car and it was going to be 4 or 5 months before you got it, its possible you would change your mind and not wait.
@@MManStock Not true. I know plenty of Tesla owners who have free charging for as long as they have the car. And, my brand new high end electric car comes with free charging for 3 years. I will say that companies are starting to get away from the free charging but it’s what they do to get interest in the vehicle. Just like Amazon Prime was free in the beginning. It’s called promotion dude.
@@MManStock well said. At the end of the day, numbers don't lie. Nio's financial is just in a terrible state. That's why the stock is below 5. Those people think otherwise are in denial. I am an investor in Nio as well and I want nothing other than the company doing well, but we need to be realistic in our view and put things into perspective.

First many thanks for your daily information about NIO. That said you need to be positive about ONVO brand as it connect with NIO just any brand of Toyota are connected with the quality of Toyota. As defined by NIO, the brand name ONVO stands for "On Voyage", and the literal translation of its Chinese name ("Le Dao") is "Path to Happiness", representing the brand vision of creating "happiness on every path we travel with family".

They spend a fortune developing a car, they spend another fortune on swap stations, then they sell the car at cost and give away the swap. Sure way to go bankrupt. I hope not.
This is just a temporary promo to give them credits that can only be used if they take delivery of the car… it’s like saying, I’ll give you 2000 dollar gas station credit if you buy my car
