I grew up in a small village where I had the luxury to be able to walk to school alone every day.
One morning, I noticed a dog turd tucked away under a Bush but just visible on the pavement.
I walked past that turd every single day and watched it turn from a brown poop into a white fossil over the years.
Two decades later that petrified turd is still there, fused to the pavement like concrete.
I'm probably the only person who knows it's there and it represents such a stable element to my life in such a chaotic world.
