    If There Is Something I Have Got to Say Its Listening to A Choir Singing at the Episcopal Ordination at the
    Holy Cross Cathedral In Boston Its Listening to A Choir Sing As to How they did And Listening to Them
    Its A Breath of Fresh Air. Lets Hope that there Be More Great Choirs In Future.

    Very sad that bishops appear not to sing the Veni Creator Spiritus, one of the most beautiful chants of Catholic liturgy

    Should all be facing the Altar...not the people

    • @bilcarter
      @bilcarter Před 7 lety +1

      Thank you for your liturgical expertise. Next time they gather a few dozen bishops and a few princes of the Church together for a Mass, I hope they have the good sense to consult you first.

    • @johnnyutah218
      @johnnyutah218 Před 7 lety +4

      You don't need Liturgical Expertise to know that Facing the Altar, Facing God is the Authentic Catholic way of Worship. And the Bishops have been told by Cardinal Sarah to face the Altar, they just don't want to obey him, a Cardinal of the Church.

    • @bilcarter
      @bilcarter Před 7 lety +3

      Not true. Cardinal Sarah is in favor of facing ad orientem (actually, so am I), but his saying so doesn't make it law. Any change to the Mass would only come at the direction of the Pope with the consultation of the Congregation for Divine Worship.
      Further, the diocesan bishops do not follow orders from prefects of the dicasteries. They are the head of their own local Church. Local bishops have extremely wide latitude to interpret liturgical norms as they see fit, and most publish their own for use within their respective dioceses.

    • @johnnyutah218
      @johnnyutah218 Před 7 lety

      I'm sorry but what did I say that is "not true." That they don't obey him? Because that IS true.

    • @bilcarter
      @bilcarter Před 7 lety +1

      No. They don't. Cardinal Sarah is a prefect of a a dicastery. Diocesan bishops do not report to him, nor do they take orders from him. It would be wise for them to show him some respect, of course, as he is one of the pope's closest advisors, but he is not in their "chain of command". Diocesan bishops have tremendous latitude in governing their dioceses. They don't even take orders from the USCCB.
      ALL clergy vow to take an oath of obedience , but only to their own bishop and his successors. They do not promise to simply obey everyone that "outranks" him. It doesn't work like the military.

    Why does it say in title at second 9--the EPISCOPAL Ordination?

    • @arthurchrzanowski5785
      @arthurchrzanowski5785 Před 4 lety +1

      pjmnash It’s an adjective meaning “Related to Bishops”. The heretics of the “Episcopal” Church stole it thinking that they have Apostolic Succession.

    • @nesking3115
      @nesking3115 Před rokem

      The term “Episcopal “comes from the Greek word “Episkopos “(Bishop )..Which only churches possessing Apostolic Succession have valid Bishops ,such as the Catholic Church,Eastern Orthodoxy,etc ..

    If the ordaining bishop was himself consecrated by 3 bishops from separate lines, thus ASSURING valid lineage, why then does it continue to be a requirement that all succeeding bishops ordained by that consecrating bishop also require 3 ordaining bishops? The logic fails me and borders on superstition.

      Jack Bo They go around their respective dioceses and minister to and correct the people when it is needed. Such forms of ministry might be like visiting a diocesan parish school and administering the Sacraments where they are needed.
