While his Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have gone on to successful careers with plenty of critically acclaimed performances, Taylor Lautner hasn’t gotten there yet.

It is a living wage, but it is first of all, a net worth...meaning they probably yearly don't even make half of that. With being a star comes a higher expectation of life, and 40 million is about 40,000 dollars a year salary to normal people. His career is pretty much dead at THIS point, but as the video says, he can still possibly come up from it. But I highly doubt the guy is making over 5-10 million a year. During Twilight, probably, but now, no.
Stoyan Petkov His fandom is pretty much almost non existent at this point in terms of actual influence. Twilight was a fad, and unlike some groups like "Beyhive" lacks any real influence, also remembering the fact that most Twilight fan girls are in their 20's. He honestly can't get any role he wants, at all. He is not sought out and his name will probably be forgotten in about 3 years to be honest in an actual 'sought out' way. He's just not attractive anymore, which was his real appeal. Dude can't act. If it was 2010 maybe...but who is really fangirling over twilight anymore?? Seriously?!
I'm not disclaiming that, but to be honest, most people who can invest have money saved up and are millionaires. Taylor Lautner isn't a millionaire. And if he is, he hardly is. If he can invest in that, he'd still need to support himself until a profit like that comes. He gets paid per gig, so as a supporting character, probably about 10k per episode on Scream Queens. Other things he has are minuscule roles. With a net worth of 8 million, Iggy Azalea was making about 700k a year, so you do the math. People who invest usually have large sums coming in, so it's better if he invested when he was actually pulling in per Twilight movie around 5-7 million a movie. Probably less. His works dried up, and small roles keep him getting by. That's the point. If you stop working, you're either rich out of your own mind, or retired. He can't retire. Stars go bankrupt too. (know Tyga? Who is with a Kardashian? He's pretty much broke.) mostly due to lack of popularity after a big one hit wonder, or lack of production. When you come to living in a certain way of life, expensive is the only way to live, and people leave you up to that standard. If Chris Brown stopped producing music for one year, he'd probably go broke.

Kardashians can retire, but they'd probably go bankrupt in 2 years. Why? Because they live expensively. The whole thing with Taylor is he has dry work. Sure, Twilight paid well, but that was a long time ago. God knows how he spent his money if he was demanding 5 million for one role. He's obviously very cocky.

Swift actually did write a song about Lautner. Her song “Back To December” from her album “Speak Now”. Though that song wasn’t bitter-it was actually really heartfelt and beautiful-it was a song about how she missed him and how Lautner was [rightfully] heartbroken about the breakup. He really loved her, she realized her feelings a little too late.

You can't base her acting off Twilight, as the character she was playing had no personality. Watch her in The Runaways. She's very vibrant as Joan Jett and it suits her very well. She's also starred in a lot of great indie films (Welcome to the Riley's, Camp X-Ray, The Yellow Handkerchief, to name a few), not to mention films that garnered a lot of award buzz (Still Alice and Clouds of Sils Maria). I will say that she does have weird tics that show up in a lot of her performances (blinking a lot and running her hand theough her hair), but for the most part she's pretty decent. I'm not saying she's Oscar material but she gets too much flack for her acting because people only see her as Bella Swan. Lord knows she's better than Sharkboy.

I haven’t seen the twilight series beyond the first one (which I actually didn’t finish cause I just couldn’t..:) but based on what I’ve seen and what’s in this review of his work, he just tried his hand at a few things that weren’t within his realm of talent. I have seen him in comedies and he’s pretty great. Scream Queens has been an excellent role for him so far (not done the second season so shhhh.. no spoilers please!) but I think comedy is a good area for him. Teen Dramas and comedy. He’s not useless on the screen, he possesses many qualities that the people bashing him could never dream of having, and he has made it to where he is because he does have talent.. the fact that we all know his name and watched this video means he’s doing something right. Not everybody has to like him and he doesn’t have to be good at everything. Very few actors are as flexible as Taylor was attempting to be. Only a handful could do literally any genre.
