I never paid attention to my dreams as an adult, ever, until I received a dream where I was sucked into a void, surrounded by lightening - and I was terrified. I wasn't Christian, I barely believed in God at this point, but this experience was more real than real life. And I called out to God to save me...and nothing. I called out to Jesus to save me...and nothing. And I said the Lord's prayer, and that's what finally saved me. Before getting sucked into the void, I had been using my mental powers (idk) to 'turn crystals' which then shifted into me annihilating ships in space. It was VERY clear to me that I was (1) supposed to pay attention to my dreams, and (2) that God and the Bible were REAL, because it was only the Lord's prayer that worked. And also to stop trying to control things. It wasn't enough to call out to God or Jesus, it was apparently important that I understand that "thy will be done" and stop trying to control things. So here I am, barely no longer an atheist, starting to record my dream - feeling a bit like an idiot - when I had a dream that my house burned down and two of my neighbors' houses. Well, at this point, I thought "why don't I move our important things and documents into storage, just in case", so I did. Two months later my neighbor's house burned down (just one) but not my house. Honestly, though, that was enough confirmation for me that my dreams were important, and I went back and started interpreting my dreams from a Biblical perspective. I had Bible dreams about things I had no prior knowledge of. For instance, I had a dream where I knew that 'someone was coming to cut me in half' as a way of getting me to agree to something like a contract, but that it was against what God wanted for me. When I looked it up, I discovered that the way contracts were 'signed' in Bible times was to cut an animal in half and walk through the pieces. I was like "whaaaaat in the world is this". I had another dream where I was falling off the earth - again, terrified like my lightening dream - and in the dream I realized "oh, I am being taken up by an angel, I just can't see them, I'm safe and it's okay" and that's how I was introduced to the concept of the rapture. And then imagine my surprise to also learn that most Christians don't believe in it. I was dreaming about churches, or waiting outside a church, so frequently. And it was so strange because so many of the Christians I talked to didn't believe that God speaks through dreams anymore. But my dreams were the only reason I was taking God and the Bible seriously! I wasn't even saved or baptized for many more months! I am now making major life decisions off my dreams, and maybe I am foolish, but I don't think so. God went out of his way to draw my attention to my dreams, I know I am meant to take them seriously.
Dreams are so powerful and profound and have guided me in this figurative language I believe is sent by the Lord. Even nightmares I learned the grace and deliverance of the Lord. Those images were not just tormenting but I learned they were real events. Seeing the position of where Jesus was in those difficult places allowed me to walk free of the affect of the trauma and I no longer had those dark dreams. Now, the dark stuff I see are the things done in secret. I hear the cry of children and those lost. I also have dreams of those without limbs see them restored in this life. I do believe all things are possible Mark 9:23.
I had a vivid dream about India years ago. It troubled me greatly. I went to a pastor and they came back later telling me it means nothing and that it was just junk inside me coming out. I had similar 'rejections' over time, and I don't think I'm dreaming anymore. I got discouraged. I'm hoping that my dreams will be restored. Or maybe God has something else for me. I don't know. Praise God for dreams
He’s willing to, ask the Lord to restore and let him know you want to engage with him in that way and oftentimes he’ll oblige us. Sounds like the Bolz resources would be very helpful to having a framework for hearing the Lord around them too
I was at a church like that and my youth kids began having dreams and I was pretty much on my own to help them but it set me on a journey to learn dream interpretation. If you had a troubling dream concerning India, if I were you I would pray the people and situations in the dream, as you very well likely were called to intercession . I would still try to honor that and let the Lord speak to you for the next step
WHAT!!!! I am listening thinking, oh yeah numbers, yeah I do that. Then Stephen says "when I am driving down the road and see the number 311..." I jumped out of my skin!!! That's my God number. God spoke thru this video right to me at a time my husband and I are being attacked in so many areas. What an amazing encouragement! There's no version of this where we lose!
This is AWESOME!! This makes so much more sense. That dream interpretation is more of a relational connection with the Heavenly Father, and not literal or mysterious symbolism. I hated dreams of mine that were too scary. If they were hopeful, I paid closer attention. Both are worth looking into! If you are more often helping others and not yourself, I wonder if that’s when the dream is actually more for you 🤔 I say all this based on my own experiences.
I am dreaming and see myself as a prophetic dreamer. I agree, we all have our individual language with God, and we need to work within those parameters. I journal my dreams and that is also a key that people need to learn. We have to steward well what God is showing us. Thanks Shawn for tackling this topic. So worth it!

I have shared one dream, to an old friend 4 states away, and he saw it take place as I dreamed it, in starting his own business. Wild that you referenced Brad Pitt - in late November/early December 2022, God put him on my heart so strongly that I asked my prayer friends to join me in praying for him. It lasted for a few weeks then lifted. I always wondered what God was doing in his life around that time. I still think of him every now and then and pray blessings, favor, and salvation for him and his family.

I used to listen to Alice Cooper and when I told people I felt like I should pray for him, they thought I was crazy. He would come to mind occasionally and I would intercede for him. Years later I heard his testimony about becoming a believer!
I love when Gods talks to me thru dreams and I’ve been dreaming for years. I don’t always understand them but many of them were and are prophetic and many of them came true ❤
So, both my parents died from cancer. Dad, when I was 17, and Mom when I was 28. I got saved at 18, and I am now 46 years old. The reason I gave that info, is because, I sometimes dream where I am back in my parents' house, and different events take place there. They started after mom died. At first, these recurring "house" dreams included partial memories of my folks puttering around; but over the years, other family members have been there, and even me and my wife. One time that stood out was that it was empty, and another was that a businessman was going to buy the house along with the whole neighborhood. I know these dreams about my folks' house are from the Lord; possibly to show me His tender regard for me, but also to help me move along the various life stages I am going towards, getting on with living.
I've had more dreams this year than I can remember over the course of my life. I started recording them on my phone, typing them up or sometimes taking a video then turning that into something typed later. I've struggled with interpretation on most of them but have put together some pieces. Very cool though that God's using this way I just wish I had a better understanding of the meaning.

#MyTurn the Lord had corrected me on using cannabis back in 2021. Basically told me I need to lean on Him to help me sleep and get through my anxiety. Within a month of quitting, I went from not dreaming at all to having extremely vivid dreams. 1st one was one I saw lighting creat fire in the walls of my home. It ended up being a warning for my dad having a stroke. I put it together, sitting in the hospital with him. My dreams haven't stopped since. If anything they have ramped up and I've made it a mission to understand them and act on them.
I had a dream about a month or so ago...where i saw a parrot in a tree, sitting not too high on a tree branch..when i looked again it was gone and in its place was a huge young eagle. I asked my wife to help me to catch this eagle, which i did..while holding it against my chest, its claws dug into my right hand pointing finger...it was painful at first but the pressure of those claws had on my finger was like it my finger was in a huge clamp..where ever i walked the eagle was sitting on my right hand pointing finger, not heavy or in the way at all, however i was aware of the pain in my pinting finger and the tremendous pressure on my pointing finger.. i was also concerned how i will feed this huge eagle as it clamped to my finger..
I had two dreams about my work not specifically about work but about things that I do at work. I really don't know what it means I couldn't be overworked maybe it's something I have to do at work. It's quite strange
I keep seeing 11:11 a ridiculous amount! People will call me at 11:11, I keep looking at the clock a.m. and p.m. it’s crazy how much I’m seeing this and I know it’s God. am I understanding is that things are off and judgment to follow
I've been seeing 11:11 or 1:11 for years and I find it very encouraging. I find it as a great promise for our families. It brings up the scriptures: Deut 1:11, Hebrews 11:11 and Hebrews 1:11.
But I do have many dreams of other people or acquaintances that end up being messages or revelatory for them, it’s confusing for me to know when dreams are for sure just for me
Last night I dreamed I was asleep and woke up to find my husband wasn't home and it was late around midnight (I'm divorced in real life) I kept trying to text him but it wasn't working on my end - like I just couldn't get it typed. Then his siblings showed up and I asked them if they've seen him and they tell me they saw him briefly and then he left. Next, I was at an event sitting in the stands and Hillary Clinton sat one seat away and a baby lay in the seat between us. I picked up the baby out of the blanket, the baby was naked, and I just held it in my arms. END
