Your observation that the sculptures in our great temples appear alive is spot on. The quality of workmanship in those sculptures is no less that what Michelangelo or Bernini scultpted in the west.
I have particularly been enamored by Hoysala and Chalukya temples and their depiction of "Kama" in all its form. Particularly impressive, in my opinion is the subtleties depicted in those sculptures. For example, women peering deeply in the eyes of her lover, or a couple holding each other's hand with love and delicacy.
I would refrain from writing an essay. However, I thank you again for this video and eagerly waiting for the next part.
I'm from nepal in nepal lumbini region, in arghakhanchi district there is a ma kali temple and its full of kam chitra kala at the top. The pillars are ful of kam chitra kala, so from here I can say that definitely kam chitra kala was a significant part of sanatan dharm.

And i ensure yóū, yóū have raised a valid question, Hindu religion has strict beliefs regarding s e x
u a l i t y and rightfully so because, such kinds of discussions only make a society weak.
The reality is, this particular style of temple construction with e r o t i c carvings has Dravidian totemic origin, before yóū begin explaining me AIT is a sham, i agree it is but that doesn't exclude out of the equation the fact that there were people in ancient north of India and they were very different from Dravidians and Austroasiatic or Mongoloid groups down south and at far east with regards to appearance, culture, genetics and over all lifestyle choice altogether.
There are three kinds of Hindu temple construction styles i.e 'शैली' - नागर style (शैली ) (Indo Aryan in origin), the द्रविड़ style (Dravidian and Austroasiatic in origin) and वेसर style (which is a fusion between the two above mentioned styles). Out of all three the Nagar style temples don't have any such e r o t i c sculptural exhibitionism going on,
yóū may have seen our beloved Lord Shri Ram's newly built temple, it was constructed in Nagar style and except in the pillars at front entrance, there are no such carving present.
The reason Dravidian and Vesar style temples have these carvings is simply because it was some form of totemistic belief that revolved around s e x , such totemistic beliefs were quite popular in other civilizations as well like in Mesopotemia and Xaina.
When later Puranas were being composed in medieval and early medieval period, these beliefs of Dravidian totemism found their way into the our scriptures resulting in association of this h e r e s y with the Hindu theology consequently gaining scriptural authorisation, when it should not have been the case.
How did they find their way into Puranas ? because religions often have a tendency to explore esoteric ideas and incorporate them within, it's how religions evolve, even other religions went through it during the course of their history, the Majar worship is peculiar to South Asian Muslims not others.
So next time onwards know that this sculpture totemism is just a h e r e s y and have nothing to do with our Gods. Go to the temples without looking at them and pray.

उत्सव काल में दक्षिण भारतीय मन्दिरों में अनेक मञ्च कला प्रदर्शन होने का रहस्य भी यह ही होगा, कदाचित् -- भक्त जन में हृदय द्रुति का सृजन ?

Thank you for your profound discourse on this subject. But greatly regret that you haven’t mentioned anything about Assam, ancient Pragjyotishpura. There are many maithuna sculptures recovered from temple ruins from different parts of Assam. Ruin temple of Madan- Kamdeva , near Guwahati is one of such example. Besides in the famous Kamakhya temple the Centre of worship is the jyoni.

अब तक यह तो समझ में आ गया है कि काम स्वाभाविक है , पर कुछ प्रश्न फिर भी हैं जैसे कि जो थ्रीसम और फोरसम वाली कलाकृतियां हैं वो क्यों हैं? क्या ये भी मान्य हैं और अगर ये मान्य है तो फिर विवाह का क्या , विवाह तो 3 -4 से होता नहीं है और दूसरी यह बात कि इन सबमें प्रेम के भाव को क्यों नहीं दिखाया गया ? क्या मैथुन और प्रेम दोनो अलग हैं ? *प्रेम के बारे में भी क्या कोई ग्रंथ है* जिसमे प्रेम की व्याख्या कि गई हो या प्रेम और काम को एक साथ दिखाया /समझाया गया हो? या फिर ये जो लोग एक दूसरे के लिए जीने मरने की बात करते हैं सब व्यर्थ है? क्या प्रेम जैसा कोई भाव होता है या फिर केवल काम ही होता है ? और तीसरा यह कि यदि काम स्वाभाविक है तो घरवालों या रिस्तेदारो कि अनुमति की आवश्यकता कोई है ? जो मन को भा जाए उसी से विवाह भी होना चाहिए , फिर यदि कोई विवाह करना ही न चाहे तो? और क्या दो लोगो यदि केवल यौन संबंध चाहते हो तो यह स्वाभाविक नहीं है ? मंदिरों में कमशिल्प के पहले विवाह क्यों या प्रेम की अभिव्यक्ति क्यों नहीं दिखायी गई है?
Kamukata natural hai , biological hai , jab tak sharir hai tab tak kaam, vaasna rahta hai ..hume usko accept Karni chahiye , shayad esi liye mandiron mein kaam kaala ko jeevan ke normal part jesa dikhaya gaya hai...eske peeche bas ehi message/ philosophy hai - kaam ko ek normal cheez ki tarah accept karo, kaam ki wajah se sansar exist karta hai ..
काम भाव के प्रति लोग उस समय बहुत मुखर और विकसित भाव रखते थे यह सच है तब समाज में सब तरह के लोग थे। तब भी उस प्रकार के लोग रहते होंगे जिनके लिए कामुकता अलग अलग साथियों से पूरित होती होगी। ये तब की बातें हैं जब वैश्याऐ गुप्तचरों का कार्य करती थी और उन्हें राजनीति और कूटनीति का गहरा ज्ञान होता था वह डिबेट कर सकती थी उनकी बुद्धि तीक्ष्ण होती थी। वे मुगलों की कोठे वालियों जैसी नहीं थी जो बस षड्यंत्र करनेऔर दौलत ऐंठने मे लगी रहे। वो देशभक्त और देशहित में जीवन देने वाली हुआ करती थी तो उनका सम्मान होता था
और रही प्रेम की बात तो प्रेम भाव सर्वोच्च भाव है इसे जहाँ जोड़ा जाए उसका सौन्दर्य बढ़ जाता हैं। समस्त: उस समय ऐसे जोड़े भी होंगे जौ एक दूसरे के प्रति वफादार रहते हो। परन्तु जैसा भी समाज में होता होगा वह सब उकेरा गया स्वतंत्र रूप से क्योंकि वो लोग कामुकता को लेकर किसी भी कुंठा से ग्रस्त नहीं थे।
