    Thank you so much for explaining the esight 4. My grandson has ONH and there are limited to no advancements in research so finding anything that may help my angel is a blessing. I am thinking of getting the esight3 as he is only 8 years old and the esight4 looks a bit much to start out with. Maybe we could encourage people to sell their 3's as they upgrade so children can have the chance to see. May God bless you for all you do, love & hugs

      Hello there. I'm glad that he has a great grandma like you. However, I would definitely encourage you to make sure to have him try it before you commit or buy it. These types of assistive technology doesn't always work for everyone. Yes, there can be an adjustment, but sometimes, it isn't the best solution or very useful. It depends on a person's vision and each person has very different vision. I do hope and wish you and him all the best! Let me know how it works out. 😀

    I like your video very much and appreciate the review of the E site. I tried it and it did not work for me I tried all of the wearable devices but I was able to find one that works for me. The one that worked for me was patriot viewpoint and it was the last one I tried I tried all the other five and that one worked the best for me it is truly amazing. I would say to anyone in the low vision community who is trying wearable devices just because one doesn’t work for you I would encourage everyone to try all of them out on the market and find the one that works best for them. I would say to anyone toI would say to anyone do not get discouraged and give up if the first or second one doesn’t work for you because I tried all of them and the last one I tried work for me.

    Thank you Carrie for posting this. my first view of your videos and this is very good. You've answered all the questions I had - meaning you covered the product all-round! I too have the problem of wanting to view from closer distance - with the zoom level needed and head-shake that produces shaky image looks like this might not be the best fit for me. Is there any other product that you use that helps you? thanks again for the great video

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  Před 3 lety

      Hi thanks for watching! So one thing that the esight does not have is image stabilization. They say that they Will be rolling out an update with that soon though. That would help it stop from shaking so much especially at the higher zoom levels.
      However, I will be doing a video in the next couple of weeks about another headset but I don't have it here yet. I'm waiting to get it in. Sam from the blind life has a lot of different videos talking about different ones he has used. I believe that one of the ones he really enjoys is called Iris vision. For right now, I just use my phone with the app called wezoom. It's a magnifier app and if I need something hands-free, I use a phone stand with it. He also have a CCTV video magnifier.

I'm light perception only in one eye and around 20/70 in the other and am looking for something that can get me back to reading music so I can participate in a flute choir. I wouldn't need much magnification, so hopefully wouldn't run into some of the issues you had at high magnification. Thank you so much for the thorough review!

      Hi there Hilary! Thanks for watching. I play flute too! not that well anymore since I haven't really practiced in YEARS, but yay! Nice to meet another flute player.
      I'd like to make a suggestion though... if you don't need too much magnification, have you ever tried using a tablet for your sheet music? It might less expensive than the eSight. Maybe you could scan the sheet music and make it into a PDF and all you would have to do is scroll down or something. Just an idea!
      Wishing you all the best, Carrie.

      @@LiveAccessible Carrie, funny that we both play flute! I've tried using an iPad Pro with LargePrintMusic (a Windows program) to enlarge it with variable results. I've also tried using Power Music on an all-in-one PC. The main issue I run into is getting enough contrast to locate notes within a staff, plus it is super labor intensive trying to prep the music when you don't see very well in the first place. One I am vaccinated, I'm going to make an appointment with a low vision doctor who comes highly recommended to see if he can help me out. Thank you for your thoughts and I really enjoyed your review!

    Might be testing one of these soon I tried out a more primitive version at my low vision specialist the other day. Contacts and glasses won't really help me anymore but this thing will won't be able to use it for every little thing however this will be a game changer for me I've gotten so used to doing things with my limited vision that when I tried on the more primitive version at the eye doctor's office it blew me away. It's definitely worth looking into if your vision has deteriorated to the point of prescriptions not being that helpful for you or even if so I would recommend getting it to wear over your prescription lenses is a pretty awesome device. That being said you might have to redo your whole wardrobe to be cyberpunk oriented lol.

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  Před 3 lety

      Hi there! Thank you for watching and that is so exciting that you'll be trying it out! This is technically augmented reality so it will magnify things for you, but you will still be able to use your peripheral vision. The other option is virtual reality. you would not have any peripheral vision in that case and rely only on what the screen offers so it's not recommended for walking around, but it provides a much bigger screen. Iris vision or ace sight are some options like that. I wish you all the best with whichever device you end up choosing! :-)

    • @Blindy_Sama
      @Blindy_Sama Před 3 lety +1

      @@LiveAccessible I shortly tried one out at the doctor's office. It seems like it's a pretty useful device. I don't know if I could use it for every little thing but even just the most simple things like watching TV or spending time with loved ones things like that would make things a lot easier period that being said if I get comfortable with advice I'd love to help develop another one maybe make a version that's more durable and robust for people to have more active lifestyles. I mean even though I'm very much legally blind I still like to do fairly active things I occasionally go to the shooting range and I used to practice the martial arts. I job is also fairly physical. So maybe I'll love to be helpful in the development of one that is four more active persons to have low vision needs. I mean technology just gets better and better as time goes on the only thing I really noticed in the office was that there was a literal blind spot when it came to the difference from your own personal body out to in front of the camera maybe I just didn't have the camera zoomed in enough. Anyways I'll find out more when I have a chance to thoroughly demonstrate one. maybe I can help develop the next model being an active person. The more I can help my people be more independent and strong the better.

      @claytonclendenny7166 Před 4 lety

      Live Accessible I still have them both but if I decide to keep the new pair I have to send the threes back. I really don’t see that happening because the visual experience in my opinion is about the same if not better with the number three because you can manually focus while auto focus is on and it is fast and easy. Also since the number three is so much lighter that is a big deal

Now, it seems the price has come down (it used to be around 15k) and they now offer financing, whereas before they only offered a crowd funding option, it might be time to revisit this product for my needs. I won"t be financing a car any longer, so perhaps I will put my credit into this product, if it is right for me. Hi there. Thanks for watching. So, the E-Site uses what remaining vision you have and makes things bigger on a screen that's mounted on your face. It really depends on how much eyesight you still have. If you still have some functional vision, I would recommend speaking to one of their agents to help see if it could help you. I hope all the best for you!

    I've been interested on this glasses for a while. I don't live in the US and I haven't found any local distributor were I can go and try it in my country, so a point of view from someone with low vision comes up really handy before getting a credit to import it.
    The field of view is something I really wanted clarification about. I think I'd work better for me if the field of view was wider, and the camera and screen resolution are too low for a $6k device.
    Something with a more immersive view would probable work betterment for men. Do you have any knowledge or have tried some electric glasses that better fit your needs?

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  Před 3 lety

      I would recommend Iris vision and the acesight vr. I've done a video on the ace site, but I haven't been able to get my hands on the iris vision. however, Sam from the blind life has a really great video on the iris vision and so you can compare the two. The two products I'm mentioning are both virtual reality headsets. So you won't be able to walk around with them like you could with the esight, but for me, and my vision, it worked better. There are people who prefer the esite, but I find that they tend to be more on the low vision or hi partial officially impaired side.

      Yeah! The price is pretty high! It is heavier than the third generation, but it's not as heavy as I thought it would be when I first put it on. But if you do have chronic neck pain, I wouldn't recommend it! I'm hoping to get my hands on one of the VR headsets and I can kind of compare them.

      Live Accessible I crochet, but right now, I’m only using high powered readers. I was considering getting a (pardon me if I’m using the wrong term) device that I can use with my laptop like a CCTV, I saw it on The Blind Life video last year maybe? The issue with that is it taking up space I need to work. If I only had 6 grand just lying around somewhere... 🤣🤣🤣

    Update... Tried this device today at my job to see how it would work for me. Did not do well at all. The screens are too small though I like the different concepts that this device brings to the table period they need to go back to the drawing board this device is going to have very limited use for very few persons in my opinion in the low vision and legally blank community because of the screen size and how much you have to fiddle around with the machine even try to get it remotely adjusted to your eyesight level. I do like all the bells and whistles but they need to get a device that works more properly for more people first. I retried a device I tried at my low vision specialist called the ace sight today as well. I had more success with that device though it does not have nearly as many bells and whistles it definitely covers all of the essentials and has better resolution from what the demonstrator was telling me. if they could combine those two devices it would be wonderful the advantage of the ES4 is that the batteries are removable as the lighter weight device so on so forth... The advantages of the ace are very simple it works and is pretty easy to use but you lose your depth perception and peripheral vision period neither of them is perfect.

    • @LiveAccessible
      @LiveAccessible  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes! I have a video about the Acesight VR Too. It has much better resolution, but like you said, you lose your peripheral vision. The two devices are really meant for two different reasons. AR is augment reality and the eSight fits into this category, but the Acesight is VR which is virtual reality. That replaces your whole visual reality with what you see through the Acesight. I have seen that eSight works for many who are lower on the low vision spectrum instead of those who are more visually impaired or legally blind. Unfortunately, right now, you have two basic options. AR or VR. All wearable low vision devices you have to pick a small screen so you cna see around you or a bigger screen and you can't see around you and can't really walk or navigate around with such a device. I'm also wating for one that you can do both! I guess we'll have to wait together. haha. Wishing you all the best, Carrie.

      @@LiveAccessible I really want to help those who are making these devices make them even more accessible period better technology more settings but still fairly easy to use but usable by multiple spectrums of people with visual issues. This will be a very long and arduous task but I'd love to be able to give my input seeing as I try to live a moderately active lifestyle despite Milo vision or legal blindness. I mean I don't think that I should have to stop doing things I love because of my vision so if I can help develop tools or give input on tools that will help other people that feel the same way then I will :-)

Would you happen to know how much it is for them to ship it out you? Or how much is it for a trial run. Any information will be gladly appreciated.

      Hi there! I'm sorry for the delayed response. The first step would be to speak with their agents to see if it would we a good fit for you. Then if you do a trial, it's around $100 or $99. The device itself costs around 6 thousand and they do have different options for the price since it is so high. I hope that helps! Have a great one and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

      thanks for watching and for your comment! I hope you're doing well. A lot of low vision devices are a higher price because of such limited demand. The resolution of the screens are not bad even if it's 1280 by 960 because the screens are so small. The Pixel density on them are outstanding, but the camera is underwhelming especially since you are a photographer! :-)
      There are some lower price options that are by other companies. But they're still over 2000. Better than 6, 000 though. This is a Canadian brand too, so that is a factor. it's really the only one I have tried so far, but I'm hoping to come to a better understanding with a few other products. :-)

    The only downside here is cropping the images when magnifying. The human eye doesn't do that, a person with true 20/20 vision sees a full 110 degree field of view with that range. For this device to achieve the same you essentially get 30 degrees field of view. Hard pass for me. I get where it'd be useful but my 20/100 vision gives me more environmental awareness than this thing will. I value that much higher than pure vision acuity.
