I live on the kenai peninsula and recently(12-6-2017) bought a ef2600fw and after 3 weeks the crank seal blew and through oil everywhere and left us without power, then when I called Yamaha I found that NONE of the local Yamaha dealers service these "generators_"(only the inverters that they sell)and that i have to ship it over 200 miles away to get "looked at". What a disappointment ! what good is a warranty if you're own dealers won't touch your own products! This will most likely be the last and only Yamaha generator or any other or their products I will ever purchase. Also they are made in China and are of Chinese quality with lots of plastic including the fuel cup on the fuel valve, plastic facia in pushed and pinned "roll cage" unlike Honda's welded frame.. we paid $729. Bucks before tax. Thanks allot Yamaha

Price to price? Honda gives you the wheel kit and the battery (for electric start models) does Yamaha do that as well??

JUST add 3 wheels. i did. Two, near one end....mostly balanced, with a bit of weight at other end; welded steering wheel type of castor wheel, at other end. Now, it can be wheeled easily, and 'turned' on a dime. Just be sure, your wheels have bearings, and can support the weight. NOT like lawnmower wheels, but 'real ones '. !

Question, I am looking at a rigid 5700 or a powermate 5700. They appear to be identical, and both are powered by the mz300 Yamaha engine. Is there any difference, and what would you say in terms of intended use and quality. I am wanting it for backup in case of power outage at the home.

How come Progressive Industries state that the Yamaha EF200is will void my EMS warranty? They claim that it overloads the EMS and will not put out a true sine wave signal.
    Can you elaborate?
