    To those saying the staff takes longer to travel and the time is just cut out, that might be true for a few seconds but keep in mind she throws it when the battle is going on and never more then a minute at most seems to have gone between when the power rangers are winning vs the monster grows.

    I didn;t think about it the first time I saw this... But if that staff can turn a 6footmonster to a 60foot monster... What if she just made the staff bigger when she threw it. A 20 foot tall 2 foot wide staff impacting the ground would wipe out all life on earth.

The apparent speed of travel was just film cuts, like how you never see the entire shuttle craft trip on Star Trek. I also figured it was self propelled since it has to get back to her right? If not how many of those things does she have?

  • @Merennulli
    @Merennulli Před 4 lety

    With the monsters being grown, that means she's adding mass to them. For every 2000kg, that's 4,494 times as much energy as the kinetic energy mentioned at 5:38. We don't know the exact mass of the monsters, but they would basically float away like a balloon if it were less than that. The monsters may be an insanely inefficient use of that energy, but her staff is putting off more energy than her 42%c throw.

    Moving around and being trailed by a constant mist or fog of blood at all times...? That's the most metal thing I've heard in a long time, and would definitely be awesome for a villain. Maybe a bit extreme for a kid's show, though... though I could see it in an anime...

  • @Esperologist
    @Esperologist Před 4 lety

    4:35 - yeah, it gets to the earth pretty fast...
    4:38 - but within the atmosphere it is traveling much, much slower. Like, roughly it's length per second... so about 2.5m/s ?
    So, it may travel between the moon and earth insanely fast, but once in the atmosphere it isn't. One could even argue that the 'space' views is from her patio on the moon (angled up so you can't see the surface). Leaving it travels the slow speed and arriving it is slow... so either it has a momentary warp that operates after traveling a certain distance after being thrown and allows it to reach earth insanely fast... or it travels at the slow speed to earth and at some point it time travels back in time to line up so it lands at a reasonable time (meaning there are a lot of staves flying towards earth at any given time).
    And then, how does she get her staff back after? She also can travel between the moon and earth insanely fast as well. So, perhaps her staff is more powerful than her monsters, just for the fact that she could actually teleport anywhere she wanted.

  • @douglasanderson7260
    @douglasanderson7260 Před 4 lety

    The problem that you have is with the 3 second observation is that the scene is cut so we actually do not see the staff going at the speed that you are calculating. I think it would be better to take the speed from the frame count at the last second before impact. I am sure it is going much slower, but for storytelling it would be a really boring scene seeing a staff falling in the air for the actual time it will take.

    If the staff did impact the ground that hard and leaving the crater that it would, that would help explain all the steam rising from the ground.
    Gotta switch over to the Japanese Counterpart, kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, for a moment. Before Rita (aka, Bandora in the Japanese), she chants "O spirits that dwell in the depths of the Earth, bestow your evil power upon " Then throws the staff down, creating the 170 meter deep crater to allow the trapped evil spirits to escape and enlarges the monster. So thanks to science, we know how far not to dig lest we unleash the evil spirits lying dormant in the earth.
    And the pig monster never grew in the show (one of the few that doesn't). The Rangers defeated it by using their power weapons together in the power blaster mode.

    Objection! Any time something in a show or movie is shown moving vast distances in a short amount of time, but the object on screen isn't moving very fast, it is implied there was a time skip between shots. It's not an issue with realism, it's that no one wants to watch something float through the void for several minutes. Rita's staff is clear depicted moving very slowly when it hits the ground, there had to be an intentional time skip.

    Its not exactly related to the video but is something i have always wanted to ask. and see if you had any opinion on it.
    So considering that as we know nothing about dark energy/matter we would have to assume for now that their is multiple types.
    Our universe is just one type of matter and our universe works in conjunction with other universes, presuming the universes were layered, but just invisible to others, or this could be other dimensions. as in if we were to progress into the 4th dimension then we would be able to see the other universe interacting with ours.
    I know not a lot is known about any of those subjects, but i'm just curious what your comment would be.
    Hope to hear back. ty.

    So, cause Power Rangers, there is apparently atmosphere on the moon. In Lost Galaxy, we see that humans are able to survive on the moon without space gear like helmets or suits. And this is canon to the OG rangers as Lost Galaxy is said to be connected to the OG timeline, despite it being a departure from the orginal series.

    Kyle, you are also failing to take into account of how dangerous the magic lightning coming from the staff in and of itself, being able to cause massive fissures in the earth's surface just from the staff's point being driven roughly 3" deep into the Earth's surface. Then again, the ranger's zords being summoned cause some rather impressive destruction, themselves. Red Tyrannosaurus? Miles deep fissure. Mastodon? Glacier breaks apart, probably causing massive havoc for sailing ships ocean wide. Pterodon? Volcanic eruption. I don't remember what kinds of chaos the Triceratops and Saber-toothed Tiger create, but it's probably not pleasant. Green Dragon Zord? Godzilla attack at Angel Grove Harbor. Titanus the Brachiosaur or whatever it was? Massive destruction, Cities leveled due to Missiles and Energy beams of various descriptions.

    Only problem with this is it's not the staff itself causing damage it's the energy coming off the staff after it touches ground

    One thing about that staff! Wouldn't using it on the Rangers be the best bet? Humans don't scale up very well, so I assume if she just tossed it their way and made them grow. . . It'd be messy to say the least.

    Right, Rita’s staff reaches Earth at a fraction of light speed. If she can make that happen, she might as well go down there and punch the megazord herself.

    Hold on, wait a second. We can see exactly how fast it's going from the clip at 4:38 to 4:40. And from that we can tell, it's not anywhere close to the speeds Kyle talks about. Looks to be going less than 10 meters a second. Hardly the speed Kyle speaks of. Even if it WAS going that fast, doesn't this mean that by the time of impact, almost all of its velocity has dropped to such a low velocity that the power is minuscule?

    So this isn't related to this video but I had a question. Why is it you can shoot a gun underwater and be fine, but if you were in the water with a grenade the shockwave alone could kill you?

  • @adolfodef
    @adolfodef Před 4 lety

    She HAS to drop it all the way from the Moon to Earth for the staff to collect enough Potential ENERGY to use it to grow the monster size.
    -> The type of "magic" she uses does NOT violate Thermodynamics [this is also why Lord Zed always had energy problems with his "Super_Mega_zord" Serpentera].
    The Staff collects matter from the air & ground around to re-arrange it as "extensions" of the monster´s body [ efectively building a biological exo-suit around it with "lighting"... just like in "Atack on Titan" ].

    • @adolfodef
      @adolfodef Před 4 lety

      The Staff accelerates almost to the speed of light, then slowdown to "terminal velocity" before entering Earth´s atmosphere & keeps it all the way down to ~sealevel~ (this takes a few minutes).
      -> Rita teleports her "monster of the week" to Earth & launches her staff inmediatly, so all the "pre-megazord street_fight" the Power Rangers do against it is merely "waiting" for the Staff to reach the surface of the Earth and do its thing [if they could somehow prevent this (like teleporting the monster back to the Moon), it will instead release all of its energy as thermal/kinetical, devastating everything].
