    Congratulations and welcome to 964 ownership!
    My advise, keep it '90's but enhance it with suspension, engine tuning, and light cosmetic upgrades.... but when someone sees it, they see an immaculate 964 as factory.
    I've had mine for 7 years and drive it every day. They have so much personality....
    Also, it's a good idea to give your videos more of your personality as it's the stories behind the cars, that we also love.

      Everything Brendan says. Mine has Bilstein B16s, but you wouldn't know, 993 Turbo brakes (which you can see ofc) and Classic Retrofit electric A/C. Otherwise, it's stock/standard.

    I own a 991.1 but I love a 964. I want a classic 911 with bug eye headlights and the small and narrow body. If I can't get one, I'd be ok too cos the 991 is really gorgeous in itself. Re restomod, if I were you, I wouldn't consider it. Instead I'd keep it as original and as top shape as possible. Singer have reduced the amount of original 964s in the world, your car will be rarer and that would make it more desirable. The looks is awesome. Congratulations.

    Hey Misha, absolutely love your 964. I'm in complete agreement, and love your take on raw driving sensation of these air cooled beauties. Every shift, timed and ill timed throttle input is excitement inducing. I've been head over heels for Porsche ever since I was young. Among all present and upcoming regulations for road going cars, I'm dreadfully impatient till I lay my hands on a 964 C2 or a 68' 912.
    I also hope you find an opportunity to drive a 1970 911 Targa S and more.
    As for yours and any 964, I strongly believe, it would be best to retain the car as it is, with slight tuning improvements among other trivial upgrades.
    Again, there's no doubt that we love your stories behind these remarkable machines.

    Thanks for doing this video! I have a crashed 964 which I’m rebuilding. I love it, much like you, for its old-school but semi-modern feel - it’s very analogue. I also have a Porsche 928 and a Ferrari 308. These are all so very different cars, but each their own so very fun. The new ones will go so much faster, but have so much less feel. Hope you’re still loving your car!

    I totally agree with you about pure, and simple, pleasure of feeling this car on the road. I Know how is my 964 just after a cold start, you described it very well. Feeling the clutch, to be patient before reaching more than 4000 rpm... You are young but I like your maturity about driving. No need to drive hard from 0 to 100, you are true, pleasure is elsewhere...
    I was on these roads 2 years ago with my 964, unforgettable moments !

    I’ve had a 2009, 997.2 Carrera S for 8 years now. Fabulous era to introduce myself to what Porsche is and was. It’s just before they did away with allowing the customer access to the engine. It has excellent power and response. For the most part, it’s still analog with a few cheesy led displays. Recently, I accidentally won a bid on “Bring A Trailer” for a 1989 3.2, Targa with the G50 transmission. I’ve now an ‘09 and ‘89. (Originally, I was thinking 993/994. But with a 997, I decided I needed a bigger gap in development and went with the ‘89, to truly see the spectrum)
    100% understand now what you say, modern cars you have to drive 100+ mph to feel them, which of course will either get you a ticket or worse, serious accident. With the 1989 3.2, driving it home from San Antonio, TX to Kansas City, at 60 mph on a highway section that was being readied for repaving, stripped to the grooves. I couldn’t get over how the ‘89 responded. It pulled and pushed against all my senses and really let me know what the car was experiencing. Any modern car would have entirely masked that section of the highway and what the car really was doing.

    Scrolling through here I can see there’s a fair amount of older guys commenting, me included. Watching you brings back memories.
    My first Porsche was a 1992 964 C4 turbo bodied work of art. It took me six months to be able to drive that car in its full capacity, I was 25. I’m still trying to find that Guards Red rocket to put back into my collection.

    Like you, the 964, manual, C2 coupe is the sweet spot of Porsches imo. I’ve thought about wide body conversions and retro back dating mine but so glad after 5 years of ownership I’ve done neither. What I have done is fitted KW suspension, RS clutch and flywheel, C4 rear calipers and 993 front calipers and discs. I’ve also fitted leather Recaro Pole position seats (originals now in storage) and can fully recommend this upgrade - expensive but my god they make driving more pleasurable where every drive out feels very very special. I may do a colour change one day but that’s as far as I would go with a 964. Anyway, whatever you chose to do please enjoy. Thanks for posting👍🏻

    964s are great. I keep mine relatively stock because for me it strikes the right balance between vintage and modern practicality. Widebody and restomod are a bit overdone these days. But that’s just my personal opinion. Enjoy the journey!

    Keep loving it the way it is. I own my 964 for more than 18 years. Considered several times to mod it, but still glad I did not. It's quite perfect as it is.

    I love this car
    For the mods I'd say some suspension work + bushings etc would make it better
    I wouldn't change anything else .. Maybe a respray ?

    I would say either going for a turbo-look or leaving it as is would suit the car best.

    Keep it period. You can always buy a ‘new’ car. These time machines are hard to come by. As a ‘93 C4 owner, I’d just add a factory RS rear sway bar, the weighted shifter from the 993 turbo with poly bushings. Maybe some period RUF parts. Rennline makes a great roof rack if you’re into touring. Good luck and enjoy!

    On future mods-It's only original once. Don't touch it. That carcwill only become more rare over time.

    I absolutely agree with you and would love one of these cars as well. Unfortunately, the cost for the 964 variants in the US is quite high (at least to me). Luckily, I've had similar driving experiences in 987 and 981 generations of the Boxster. I've also developed a fondness for the E85 M Roadster. They are not the same as my old 997, but I find them quite exhilarating to drive on tight ribbons of tarmac.

    Congratulations, what a lovely car! Looks and sounds fantastic. Also it is so much nicer than the current crop of increasingly bloated 992s. As for tweaking your car, I’d keep any changes very subtle, a set of 16 inch PAG style wheels could look great and would be mor individual that the Fuchs.

    Great car. I have a 1991 Amazon green 964 completely stock. Wouldn’t do any mods. Does your car leak oil? Rust around the windshield? How many km? Good luck and congratulations!

    Great car and video. I completely agree that the visceral feel is worth way more than sheer speed.
    It is your car, so do it how you want. Personally I would not touch the classic lines. My bite would be refresh the suspension if needed, add lightness and keep enjoying the drive.

    Perfect it is not. But for me 964 is the sweet spot between classic and modern. I used to drive faster and more modern Porsches but ”stepped down” (or up!) to the 964 for the same reasons you describe in the video. Feel and driving enjoyment at reasonable speeds.
    I choose to update my car only with mild and reverible mods, like suspension, wheels, exhaust, remap etc. I have a ducktail in the garage + an extra hood for Cibie lights that have not yet been mounted. All reversable. Now I’ll go down to the garage and put winter wheels on and raise the suspension a bit. And hope for snow. 😅

    Not about computers and numbers. Well said, Sir. I always prefer older more analog vehicles. Whether it’s a W210 Benz E Class, a 4th or 5th Gen Camaro, a C5 or C6 Vette, or up to a 996 Gen 911… they all have the driving scoring common. The kids nowadays are all about the video game experience and the numbers. They can keep it.

    Well, resto mods is obviously of fashion. Many of them are great achievements. Some have overdone things a little. It’s all a matter of personal choice. But were I to own a beautiful 964 like yours, I would want to keep it like Porsche intended it and built it. The real and true thing. In that respect I don’t think you can get any closer to perfection (even if perfectible through resto mod) 😎

    Great car, nice cinematic sequences and indeed a refreshing style of video. The first thing I would modify on your car is remove that third brake light. 😅 It ruins the shape of the car. As for your other mods, please don't wide-body it if you want to keep it for its value. I would also not do a backdate nor a Singer style car. Keep it as it is, and make it better. I don't know if restomod is the right term for it, because this way you would also loose its classic handling.

    Finding an original unmodified 964 is very difficult. I'd like yours to be left as original as possible. If you cannot restrain yourself, please keep it visually as close to the factory car as possible. Slight lowering aside, they need no visual 'improvements'.

    Backdates are cool asf, especial with the Carrera model's, theres a company called 911 retroworks that do backdates for 110k-130k + a doner car. A bargain compared to theon desings or singer

    If keeping the car's value is important for you (also for me), as you stated in the beginning, then keep it stock or at the very least visually stock. Modified cars almost invariably lose value. Congrats on a great car, though I am partial to the C4 myself.

      ridiculous … Singer and many others take them to better in every way and worth 2-10X … none of these are 10/10 rare collector grade … modify and drive them

    In my opinion keep the factory style, do NOT backdate, enough of them out there....I bought a 964 last year, I LOVE IT.... search here for 1989 964 Carrera 4 One Owner with only 47,000 actual miles Rare Linen Gray Metallic, but I did the following:
    Top End Service in 2022, including:
    Head studs, Piston Rings, Oil Return Tubes, Valve Job, Valve Guides and new Gasket kit, Crank & Temp Sensors, new sheet metal kit
    Lowered to Euro spec w/Bilstein B16 (PSS10) Shocks and new upper mounts
    Cup 1’s Powder Coated with Hyper Silver Metallic, New Michelin Pilot Sport 4 All Season
    New Rotors and brake lines. Calipers rebuilt by PMB Performance in Utah
    OEM Rear Spring Plates, and Trans Mount, Sway Bar and bushings, Tie Rods, and drop links
    Rebuilt Distributor, new Conti belt and new bearings, new Wires, Plugs, Caps and Rotors
    Steve Wong’s ECU Chip, open air box....what a difference!
    Turbo style steering wheel
    Secondary muffler delete using SCART “Swan Neck”….music!
    Heater Delete replaced Fabspeed RS Fiber Carbon bypass hose
    Rear Wiper delete, and installed new OEM rear RS glass
    New OEM front windshield
    Rennline Strut Brace and RS Carpet in front trunk
    AC evacuate, Vacuum and R22 Recharge, AC font condenser and fan Assembly replaced, new receiver filter frier
    Euro side makers-white, new OEM head lights
    New Fuel Pump ECU Relay “R41”
    COCO Matts, Pad Keeper in Engine area

      @@MishaonWheels Also I would just modernize suspension maybe get Cup 1 wheels, brakes and good tires. Maybe some moderate engine work but I woundnt go much further then that.
