"There's no battery that can live forever"
Well... There's no internal combustion engine that can last forever either. Remind me how much replacement engines cost?
At least they are developing an aftermarket for replacement batteries to allow these older EV's to live on.

EV’s have a ways to go but far from finished.

EV's will be history......hybrids stand a chance of lasting somewhat longer. I'm looking forward to Toyota coming out with that 20k mini-truck. Life will be good.

I am not an EV fan right now but they are not going anywhere. A more logical approach would be go to hybrid, develop battery technology and then move to EV. We also need time to build the grid to support, we a looking at a 30 year transition and then it still wont be fully electric. I think EV production will slow especially with subsides gone but they are not going anywhere.

Have an ev. It only cost about 20 per month on electricity. Drive about 60 miles a day

what about hydrogen fuel cell cars. They already have them, no emissions.

GM just built a plant here in TN. Big eyesore off the highway. We do not and will not have the infrastructure for EVs. Plus a major collapse is on the way so that will not help them.

Those batteries last 10-15 years but by that time the car is done anyways. Most priuses get like 230-400K miles throughout their lifetimes

Very often people take up beliefs that they feel will benefit themselves financially. Old mechanics disliking electric cars is not new. I heard the same thing about "Computer Brains" ruining cars when ECUs started becoming a common sight. Before long the young guys of that day were tuning ECUs and all the hate was forgotten. Some said the first Prius cars would need a new $10,000 batteries every couple months. There are first generation Prius on the road today and you can get a DIY battery rebuild kit for about $1,000, far less than any normal engine rebuild. EVs are no different. Even today people are hacking them and finding ways to repair them. Weber University even offers certified EV mechanics training.
