      Hahaha...I try to. I've visited gyms in most African countries. Uganda has the most expensive gyms by far in Kampala. About 130 usd a month on average.
      Most other African countries you can jump in and get a 1 month pass from 30-65 usd. Sometimes in Southern Africa they even have pools, the Virgin chain always does.

    Once again tight work, I was pleasantly surprised by Gaborone developing infrastructure and also the strength of there currency “Pula” I think is it name it was 13 to 1 USD when I visited; I wanted to visit the diamond mines and got a big NO WAY from the local tour guides,the Botswana national museum was under renovation when I was there, I did view there interior courtyard with the mud huts for the baños. Continued success ✌️

    Great vlog! Thanks for talking about it being a car-dependent city. I used to live in Henderson,NV (Vegas suburb), and it looks like that. Did you have a hard time getting Uber or any ride sharing service? I’m looking for a place to retire on the continent, and would prefer a walkable community. Also , you mentioned ants; did you see any spiders in your place as well?

    While at this mall you can go behind it and you'll see wild baboons. I have been going there while im visiting and feed them. They are mellow ❤ and appreciate the snacks.
    The streets seem to always be empty probably because of the low population and they don't market the country for tourism.

    • @JayFocused
      @JayFocused  Před měsícem +3

      I think it needs more people too. It shouldn't become a mega-city but you need more inhabitants to unlock it's potential, similar to Windhoek in Namibia.

      @pushingp6945 Před měsícem +4

      @@JayFocused yes you’re right the two countries are very much similar In population dynamics & emptiness feels ,,,
      but Windhoek is much bigger , organized & has proper infrastructure & road network that’s where Gaborone lacks , if it could push a lil further by investing in its infrastructure it would attract a lot of migration but it’s disadvantaged by SA & Namibia coz they have oceans 🌊 so people who option to move to the southern part of Africa would choose countries with a coast than inland , this is viewed even in the population history of both countries , they both used to be 2.5 million people, now Botswana is 2.6 million & Namibia is over 3 million
      Gaborone has over 200k while Windhoek has 500k

      Gaborone is more developed than most capital cities in Southern Africa. A small population is not a problem; look at the Gulf states like Kuwait, the UAE, they only number a couple of million each (Kuwait arnd 6 million). A large unproductive population is different from a China, or Germany, large and productive populations. In terms of levels of productivity and management of resources; some African countries can not justify having a population of over 5000, even then I am quite sure, given the ineptitude & corruption, that country would be poor.

      No no please. We are happy as we are. We don't want too many people to come and corrupt us. We like to retain our peaceful humane existence where people are not valued by how many billions they have. We want to remain simple villagers who still care about our neighbors. I bet West Africans are too many because they are religious. It is daft to do that. Botswana is fine as it is. The resources must never be overpowered by the size of the population. In Botswana, a child is given a piece of land when they reach the age of 18. That is how you eradicate poverty

      @@youme1414 Who said people want to come to Botswana? I was answering the person who said to fly West Africans to Botswana. It wasn't my idea. Let everyone stay in their countries I say. Over population is self inflicted. If you allow the white man to treat your women like cattle with his religion, causing them to breed mindlessly to enrich him and his capitalism, then you will have that problem. Just contain your population and breed according to the size of your resources, not breed for the simple reason that you are able. That is just daft. Botswana is predicted to be a high income country in not so long a future because we do not breed like rabbits. We contain our numbers so we are not frustrated and unable to deal with that which comes with mindless breeding.
