  • This is the new Cressi Corvina 5mm wetsuit for 2018, brought from the Spearfishing Store for £217.90
    I've put this video up for those interested in what this suit looks like. I've compared it to the Tracina which is a popular spearfishing
    wetsuit.

    Hi Ryan, thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. I am actually choosing between the corvina and the tracina.
    Which one do you prefer? I would go for the corvina, but since it costs a pit more I'm not sure about it.
    Thank you in advance!

      Thanks man, so far, I don't think there is much difference! I use both, the tracina has better protection on the arms and legs which I think is good if you spearfish near rocks.

    I wanna ask u what is weight of this wetsuit ?

    Hey mate! How are you finding the suit now in terms of durability, comfort and warmth?
    I'm trying to decide between the Corvina and the Scorfano, but am hesitant because of the smooth neoprene on the Corvina. Like you mentioned in the video, there may be an issue with abrasions on the smooth material. Have you experienced anything yet?
    Thanks mate

      Hi there, I haven't really used it enough yet to give a proper review on the suit and how durable it is etc. It does fit well and is warm but I'm not sure how much better than the others it really is. I think I've got a couple of small holes in the arm of the suit because when I wash and dry the suit I see salt crystals coming out between the layers at the wrist. It's a good suit but I reckon if you'll be lying on rocks with barnacles it could scratch up a bit.

    hey dude, fantastic edits. Also based in dorset and deciding on a new suit, any advice? seppia or maybe a Salvimar Krypsis

      Thanks for the comment mate, the main thing is making sure the suit fits, rather than the colour. I've used a lot of cressi suits and they have a good fit for most people so I would recommend them. Most people use a 5mm suit during the summer and autumn.

      Hi ghutchy I have only used it twice so far and it has been great but I haven't used it enough to review (durability and all that) it yet

    Is 5mm thickness adequate for UK waters? I thought that you would need at least a 7mm.

      most people use a 5mm for June to the end of October.

    Hey, is the tracina an open cell? And have you been diving more with the corvina, is it durable? Is it worth sacrificing the durability fof the tracina and get corvinas flexibility. Has there been a big difference in terms of flexibility and comfort between the suits? Sorry for asking so may questions, Im getting into freediving and really dont know which suit to get haha

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi yes it's open cell. I've been diving with it a lot and I find it really comfy. The outside has scratched up a lot more than the tracina if you're just getting into freediving then either will work fine and won't be holding you back. I'd say pick the cheapest or the one you like the looks of most haha

      @@ryane8881 Haha ok thanks. But they are equally flexible right?
      Also Im almost on every measurement except for height, Im 185-186cm and the limit for L is 181cm. Should I get L anyways?

    • @ryane8881
      @ryane8881  Před 4 lety

      @@Benjamin-ii3ke The corvina is probably a little bit more flexible? I'm happy using it!
      Hard for me to say really but if XL would be too large on most measurements then definitely go for L!

    Hey Ryan, thanks for the video. Question - how did the wetsuit hold up over the years? I'm especially interested in the openings - hood, sleeves and ankles, as there seems to be no reinforcement on the inside of those edges?
    My old Cressi wetsuit also had no reinforcement along the face opening and after a while it started cracking there due to my habit of stretching the hood to hear better while on the boat or when I wanted to let in some water to cool off.
    Cressi Sepia seems to have that problem figured out if you look at the edges. Cheers!

      Thanks for the comment!
      I’ve used the wetsuit quite a bit and found it to be a very soft and comfy wetsuit. No real problems with it for me! Only downside is that it has scratched up a bit on the outside where you get the smooth black finish.
      I know what you mean about the reinforcement on the inside but I’ve not had a problem so far. It’s been my main go to wetsuit for summer diving.
      Obviously wetsuits don’t last forever if you use them a lot and they will wear through eventually! 👍
