- I asked my good friend (and colleague at Crazy Pianos) mr. Johnny Corsie to play piano on this one. This song is one of the most beautiful ballads ever in my opinion and I hope you enjoy it. This is 'Just Once' from Quincy Jones' 1981 album 'The Dude'. Quite the challenge vocally too!

Dude I’m a musician/keyboard player/writer myself. Gotta say your voice is great. A throwback to the great singers of the 70s and 80s. No stupid flashy riffs and runs, just a clean, soulful voice that you can listen to all day. I’d love to hear more.

You got me in tears, I was terrified teenager back then, grappling with my sexuality, terrified to tell anyone. That song just brought it all rushing back like it was just yesterday, but I’m now 54. That’s the power of music, they can take us back to a time or a memory in a nanosecond! I vividly remember sitting in my car, bawling my eyes out, because I had just told my best friend I was gay, it took me months to build up the courage to tell him, hoping he would except me. He told me to F off, that he never wanted to see me again, I almost committed suicide that night. But, it was a turning point in my life, I decided then, and there not to give a damn what anyone thought, and I have been happily married to the same guy for almost 35 years now. That’s the power of music!!! and by the way, incredible vocals!

I'm a recent subscriber, and for a number of decades I've been searching for someone that could really do these classics the justice they deserve, and man, you just - WOW - the art, passion and talent that goes into this is just fascinating! As a musician myself I have an immense appreciation for this kind of work!!
There's people that lazily choose and record covers, and then there's people on another like Clemens, where they choose a beautiful song and kill the production. I can't say enough about this cover. There are parts of this cover that I enjoy as much as the original Quincy recording with James Ingram.
