The short answer is no. Most of Tabarly's monohulls were designed in an era where sterns were narrow. That gives the impression of similar lines (Pen Duick II, Pen Duick III, Pen Duick VI) but they were all designed by different people and are very different when you look closely. Pen Duick V was a precursor in 1969 with a large planning hull and ballasts. Bruce Farr only won the 1/4 ton with the Farr 727 in 1975, 6 years later. That started a revolution in boat design.
