  • While we wait for winter to pass, we decided to work on a new project; converting a cargo van Ford E250 into a camper van. We expect this endeavor to occupy us for the next couple months and decided to bring you along as we transform this van into our new part time home.
We are learning a lot as we are doing (as always), so don't hesitate if you have any questions about your own conversion, it will be a pleasure to share tips and tricks, if possible.
In this episode, we build a simple and cost effective kitchen. The structure is made from 1 piece of plywood. The counter is cut from a 4-foot piece of counter from Home Depot. The drawers and cupboard door are self-locking. This kitchen is big enough for 15 gallons of water, 2 big drawers, a fridge, a stove, and a garbage can.

Love how the kitchen turned out. It’s like having a cabin on wheels. Very nice.
    Thank you.

i like that you dont use so many tools ... you show, that it can be done with just the bare necessities .... it seems like mose woodworking channels have every tool imaginable...

Nice job on the cabinet, even with the tool handicap! I always have a tough time mounting those type of hinges, even with the right drill bit. Flooring for drawer bottoms was an excellent move!

Thanks! We were amazed that we managed to do it first try!

See you prying out wood with a pocket knife. Seems like a job for a chisel!

    • @Alexotronic

You'll use it more than once or twice, it's basically just a sharp piece of metal! :-D

Of course it could be argued that a knife is just a sharp piece of metal too... just thinking that chisel is part of any wood-workers arsenal.

We have one but it was too wide lol. But we will definitely be investing in more chisels soon

Most nails and screws are cleaned in acid before they're shipped out from the manufacturer.. Don't put them in your mouth!

Didn't know that. Thanks for the tip!
