- To finish 2022, I wanted to share a fun Ice-type Gym leader team I made for an IRL Gym Pop-up event I did in NYC at the start of December! This team utilizes 5 Ice-type Pokemon and Tera Ice Annihilape! It features several fun Pokemon like Frosmoth and Glaceon as well.

Way ahead of you
I really do like Glaceon this generation. Changes to Snow and also Tera make it a real threat. Ice Body + Leftovers can give you a TON of staying power too if you don't want to be as RNG dependant. There's also a bunch more always accurate moves in the format now.
That last battle was incredibly cursed on both ends, wild. Love this team tho and thank you for continuing to make such enjoyable and educational content :) Your channel is a delight. I hope you've had a wonderful new year.
This why I Love Cybertron videos. Not only is your boy AMAZING in the VGC format, he also gets creative and finds awesome ways of building new teams. I'm a huge fan of monotypes and this team just blows my mind!

I really think Crabominable is a stronger AV pick over cetitan in a snow+trick room oriented team for the speed differential but it is incredibly important to highlight that tera water crabominable is INSANELY unexplored and with access to Iron Fist with STAB crabhammer (no iron fist boost here which seems like an oversight given every other hammer move is boosted), ice hammer, thunder punch, and drain punch with an insane base atk stat of 132
It is a tough road to walk having Gholdengo as a hard counter. You're locked into running Annihilape on your team to either take out Gholdengo or force a Steel terra from it which might give you a chance.
Crabominable is an interesting Pokémon that's fallen into a really unfavorable meta.
Outside of Gholdengo, though, its coverage is pretty solid with fighting, ice and electric. I don't think Crabhammer gets you much, tbh. Water is a great defensive terra type, but water only gets you offensive coverage against Fire which isn't super important right now. Water/Crabhammer is a pretty steep price to give up Protect as an option. Imo, it's hard to pass up Electric teratyping giving you resistance to steal and extra stab against Dondozo, for whatever that's worth.
Is Boxing glove multiplicative? Drain Punch would come in at 75 x 1.5 x 1.2 X 1.1 = 148 power? You get your 10% boost to ice hammer (198) and thunder punch (99).
Would have to test Drain Punch. With its lack of bulk, it'll be staring down a lot of 1HKO pressure. Not much point to having drain moves if you're always either 100% HP or 0% HP. Close Combat STABs at 180 power workout any punching buffs. You kind of don't care about your defense and special defense going lower since they're already on the floor.
A nice surprise when the team is made by Aaron. Playing with a new team every episode is so much interesting content

I've been doing a slowking chilly reception into frosmoth for aurora veil set up because the water typing on slowking discourages the fire/steel attacks coming in and sets up double defense. Rock slide is a problem though.
@@trick6pokemon624 Tera ice should make it possible to live with snowstorm and veil right?
@@1020percent it's still 4x weak to it so STAB rock slide will OHKO and if it doesn't for some reason you are still slower so even if I tera on the frosmoth after the switch-in to try and aurora veil (I will lose defense boost) I will still die from the original HP loss and while I still run wide guard on Frosmoth I can't aurora veil and wide guard the same turn so I will be relying on whoever was next to slowking to stop both rock sliders and that's how i play it but it usually doesn't end well.
It may be worth considering whatever the rock reducing berry is but in my experience occa berry still would get me OHKOd by physical fire moves so I can't imagine living through double rock slide, maybe a single
@@1020percent like you want to leave slowking in to hydro pump the ttar and lycanroc but they have doubled spdef from the sandstorm so you want to chilly, but they can double rslide for a a large flinch chance and you lose there as well
So I started to bring choice scarfannihilape with CC but almost all ttar lycanroc run focus sash on the lycanroc and flying tera on the ttar so it's just a hard lose sadly

Mono teams are very fun in this gen. I made a mono water team with Pelipper, Barraskewda, Palafin, Azumarill, Dondozo, and Tatsugiri, and it’s a blast to use and is surprisingly solid. There is a surprising amount of options in this gem even with the monotype restriction
That last fight was insane, that Garchomp must have had King's Rock with those 3 flinches in a row.
King’s rock doesn’t affect moves that already have a chance to flinch

@@wacksonjittemore4013 i mean, it can be true, but the % of games you lose out of 4 consecutive flinches is so small that it won't change your win rate significantly so... it's whatever, also after that game4 i guess the RNG God was balancing some stuff 🤣

In the last game you debated bringing Glaceon as the 4th, would've been epic to see a showdown between Plot Armor Glaceon and the opponent's Plot Armor Garchomp lol. I love making mono type teams just because of the added challenge of trying to synergize and cover for the weaknesses of pokemon that share the same type. I made a mono steel team and it consists of Scizor/Tinkaton/Corviknight/Perrserker/Gholdengo/Revavroom. It's a fun team to pilot in pvp and anyone who wants to use the team is free to do so! Eviolite Sneasel is an off meta support I really like that I think could replace Baxcalibur. Access to Inner Focus, Fake Out, Snowscape, Feint Foul Play etc. High base Speed to add some natural speed to your team and good SP Def. Scary Face/Icy Wind if you want more speed control and dark type so immune to prankster moves. Very underrated support option in my opinion!

Thank you for making a video on this team! I'm building a Glaceon team myself rn and I was hoping to get some insight into how yours worked. I've been really impressed by AV Glaceon, especially with Aurora Veil support + the defense boost from snow it becomes an absolute tank - with max hp it can very comfortably take a choice specs make it rain. I also run ground tera blast on mine to pick up surprise KOs on Steel and Fire types which has been very effective for me. Love Glaceon and glad to see you use it! :)

I actually ran a Frosmoth team myself and I agree heavily, the mon is definitely underrated a bit, I think the utility it provides (while also hitting hard af) + tera being able to remove the horrible weaknesses of Ice helps immensely

I think this was amazing. I would love to push the idea further, probably you could come up with a monthly event, where you can invite other content creators to take the role of gymn leaders (or maybe the elite 4), and draw members from the community to tackle the challenge.
Rock slide PP got stalled out at the end, perfectly balances all those flinches out

Shiny Cetitan looks incredible. The original color palette is a little underwhelming for me, but the shiny makes the design hit so much harder. I know it's just "orca colors plus orange" but it really works well. Might have to shiny hunt it when I get the chance.

Amazing games and showcase of such a fun team! I think the Garchomp went for Dragon Claw at the end because they didn't want to risk a Rock Slide miss, and also to try and tie the game with Rough Skin damage.
