Facts. I was mad at my compa
@@kevinvargasirineo6690 🤣 yeah, yo me enchilo obviamente pero me encanta sufrir 🤣 y no paro de comer picante!
What’s the point of seasoning the food if your just gonna pour hot sauce all over it god you Mexicans be putting that trash even on ice cream 🤡
@@oAgL214 ahuevo. Y eso chingao 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
@@patsnationok1373 first of all we don't put it on ice cream, sorbet? Yes. Second, just say you're a wimp it's ok.
Once she said she was half Sri Lankan, I knew she was going to win. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too! Spice-loving communities unite!
Edited: Removed references to specific communities.
Right? Lowkey thats the only way DR can compete in this we don’t do spice AT ALL I can’t even handle spicy Cheetos, elote lollipops are the hardest I go and they make my cousins cry
@@shorttbone4193 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s true.
But she took all of the meat and other food and only ate the bread. That’s not accurate
LOL tbh I live in Dominican Republic and NO ONE here can handle spice, their food aint spicy at all!!! That girl is built different, her Sri Lankan side came thru 😂
I am dominican too, you are right!
She don't looks or acts like Dominicans usually do, additionally, her surname isn't Dominican at all. I immediately knew she wasn't Dominican or at least fully Dominican, my original bet was that she was a Haitian with a Dominican passport.
Definitely her Sri Lankan side 😂 My best friend is Sri Lankan and he loves spice and handles it well 😂
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 Im Dominican and I think she looks dominican but as far as the challenge .. that was all Sri Lanka representing cause we DONT do spicy. 🤣
@@xolotlmexihcah4671 you're the bot
Love the dominican/Sri Lankan girl. She's so chill eating everythibg
She’s gorgeous. Can’t stop staring at her 😂
Nah, there was no point in her being the video
As someone who loves spicy food, I think the main takeaway of this video is that I need to go try Sri Lankan food, lol 😂 Congrats to the winners!
Same!
yes!! I recommend trying kothu roti, jaffna curry with rice or biryani, string hoppers (idyappam) with sothi and spicy red coconut sambal, and rolls or patties stuffed with curry 😊
It is discount Indian food, just have Indian food
you have no idea what spicy food is about. you think because it burns its good.
I highly recommend it! It's reeeeeally good
“I’m also half Sri Lankan”
“Yes I will play against this peewee football team but my dad is Cristiano Ronaldo is that ok?”
I’d love to see Hispanics try curries one day. My heritage country is Mexico. I took my family to a Vietnamese restaurant and my dad (loves spicy food and even takes a tequila shot as medicine while sick) tried this crying tiger curry that the waitress literally said it was one of the spiciest on the menu. Just after a few bites of the curry my dad was tearing up to the point he was crying (without the sobs). My dad can eat all kinds of spicy Mexican foods but the curry got him 😭 which made us 😂.
curry is a different kind of spice and hits different. I'm Mexican, but half Indian. I can tell you that chili spice hits in the tongue while spice from spices hits in the throat.
@@nirakhurana yeah I’ve realized after eating curry the first time on just mild. I’m not into spicy stuff but I really like the mild curry I ate at the same restaurant I mentioned.
Tried the spiciest Thai curry this restaurant had an I loved the spiciness and it made my nose runny which you know that means it’s the perfect spice level. I’m just not a fan of the taste of the curry. Maybe I just need to try the right flavor
@@nirakhurana Damn. Mexican and Indian! Your taste buds must be made of titanium, and your stomach too.
On a rando note, I love Indian food. I literally inhale it and the restaurants I go to are legit and specifically make mine spicy. Especially my go to place bc they make the best hyderabadi biryani which they make extra spicy for me mmmm 🤤
For Americans: if you can't distinguish a Mexican from a Puerto Rican, do this test. We Puerto Ricans do NOT eat spicy. Tabasco sauce is the spiciest we can handle.
As a puertorican I use hot sauce with everything lol i LOVE spicy foods I think its just a personal preference
@@erikadanielle3571 i think that’s the difference tho… you guys use hot sauce or just add based on preference, but in mexico almost every dish has spice already in it
Lmao right Puerto Ricans do not make spicy food. We’ll add pique on some things buh Thts is lmal
@@jenn2847 lmao nah I think im just one of the few who truly love spicy food I eat all types of food like Korean food Mexican food anything spicy u name it 🤪
nah i put spice on everything. but i think that’s my black side cause my bori mom could never
us Mexicans start eating spicy foods desde infancia jajajaja
My family is Mexican, my grandma loves spicy food, she says nothing is ever spicy enough for her. Well…she went to a new Thai restaurant for lunch and she said that food was spicy!! Lol
😂 As an Asian whose eaten Thai and Lao food my whole life, I love pepper and spicy. I have a lot of Mexican friends and whenever I give them my type of food they freak out bc it’s way too spicy for them 😂
Thai is a whole different level of spice. I know a chef/owner of a thai restaurant (he's a thai immigrant). I always ask the waitress if he's cooking that night before I order. If he's not cooking that evening I order xtra hot. When he's cooking I go with mild or medium at most. His medium is usually still hotter than the xtra spicy from the other cooks.
It’s really ironic how peppers are native to Latin America but aren’t used as strongly in Latino recipes as much as Asians do for theirs😂😭
Yes hahahaha. But I have to Say that I've met people here in México that truly looooves spicy, if the food isn't spicy doesn't have spice, for them is bland. They often add extra spice to an actually hella spicy food. I just get freaked out 😢😂
yeah but it's only heat... no sabe buena... most of those asian chile sauces are just canned fire. saben a mierda.
It is a no-brainer, Mexicans are always known for their ability to handle spicy food and known for their spicy food.
Ave, Mexico.
Be blessed
We Puerto Ricans don't eat spicy food. Anytime we do we struggle lol
It’s so true when I went to PR the food barely had any spices. Funny cuz my PR/White husband + white Fil love spicy food but my Mexican self does not
Yup! I’m Hispanic and went to PR for a study abroad and I was missing the spice 😭 there was nothing!!! Good food-I’m allergic to bananas/plantains so half of it tried to kill me lol-but it was definitely not spicy!
OMG!!! My people here I am! And yesss! The struggle is real lol 😂
Excuse me speak for yourself. I’m Puerto Rican and I can handle a fire burning tongue. I have a little sister and she is my prodigy when it comes to taking heat. We love eating different types of raw hot peppers with our food. Pickled or not. I was thinking this Puerto Rican guy can’t take the heat as soon as I saw him in the video.
Rightt lmao we season our food Buh rarely use anything spicy. Only thing is pique Buh Thts not tht spicy
Mexicans can handle everything but Asian spice kicks you differently but after a week I was beating the Indians and singaporians. Also I think American grown chilies are very mild.
I think is also because the indigenous people didn't cultivate chilies to overpower the food. It was to enhance it. Where I come from, it seems we use our chilies to enhance flavor not just be overpowering
@@mizuwaoo6190 That's how everybody uses chili. The purpose of chili in Indian food is not to overpower it but to enhance the flavor. People just get overwhelmed because the chili is used along with other spices and if you're not used to it it can feel like a lot.
@@divyak9980 I won't speak on other cultures uses of chilies but us Natives first cultivated them to be spicy but enhancing of the overall flavor. These chilies that are cultivated now in other places seem to be bred to be more spicy .
I’d be out 1st round. Happy one of our Mexico representatives did well. 😭
Oh I am so pleased to see that Nicaragua is being represented in this video!!! Thank you so much for including Nicaragua !!!
in my opinion as Nicaragüense , Nicaragua is under represented so seeing that there is somebody from Nicaragua in the video made me really happy thank you so much !!!
Viva Nicaragua 🇳🇮 !!!!!
The girl from Nicaragua y the puertorican guy got me 😂😂😂😂
That "No fregues" sounded so familiar haha I'm from Nicaragua. Actually Nicaraguan food is not that spicy but I do believe that how good we can handle spicy depends on what part of Nicaragua are we from (I'm a baby when it comes to spicy food)
Vamos mi Guatemala querida🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹❤️
Lol the most I can do is like Takis💙🇬🇹
@@meloello you ain’t chapina then

I'm guatemalteco and I love spicy food.
Us Mexicans are born con el chile en la mano 🌶🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽❤️ como decimos “ nacimos con el chile en la mano “ 😂
yeah but a lot of these other cultures don't get it, they think if it makes your culo burn like the fires of hades that means good. una sala no vale verga si no sabe buena.
Props to the Puerto Rican! He did so well! My Puerto Rican friends can’t even bare a drop of tapatio 😂 but go Guatemala!! 💕
As a Puerto Rican myself you are speaking the truth lol
Puerto Rican aren't Spanish and Hispanic and Latino until given back to Spain and getting independence only from Spain your Americans now speak English they shouldn't even be on this channel

@@familyandfriends3519 your right we should give back the oppression and the slavery abuse that they gave for over 300 years thanks for the remind you moron
Puerto Rico and DR isn't known for spicy food we're more known for savory seasonings
I'm sorry but Pr food is always salty that not much savory 😂
@@Lexxrios92 speak for yourself. PuertoRican food is NOT salty !?? LMAOO , you haven’t tried the real PuertoRican food.
@@Lexxrios92 umm it must be your country food that is salty and sweet and spicy at the same time mushed up bullcrapp cause pr food is no where near salty..🤣😂it’s known for the bet seasoning Caribbean countries are the shit in everything you wish
@@mu4281 yeah ok keep telling your self that lmao. All u guys eat is rice and beans and plantine with a side of meat same o boring shit that everyone has. 😴 and yet plain and salty 🤣🤣
@@erickfloresma you don't know how your food taste because you've always eaten it since you were a kid so to you is the best. It's like American food taste bland but to them it tastes real good. Stop eating your own food for a while and then try it again, and you'll notice things that didn't realize before. I've done it, and our puertorrican food it's indeed quite salty. It's like this video , telling a Mexican the food is really spicy and they'll tell you it's not at all. The same with our food.
Not gonna lie , I give you props Ivan I thought you’d tap out after tapatio 😂… cuz when I went to PR I asked for tapatio or salsa and they gave me pique, sweetest salsa I’ve ever had 😝
VAMOS NICARAGUA 🇳🇮 💪 🙌 ❤️
THANK YOU FOR REPRESENTING MÉXICO 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽♥️🤜🤛
LETS GO MÉXICO
I’m half Mexican and half Guatemalan, and when I visited Guatemala, there is NOO SPICE anywhere!! I’m surprised the Guatemalan rep is handling the heat well 😂
Probably cause she is half Sri Lankan, the food there is super spicy
I like how that guy says, “at this point Ivan must be sweating” and the camera goes to Ivan coughing lol. 😂 Great job everyone! 😆
I love this video ❤ it was soo entertaining
Monica! I just googled you and I didn’t know you were such a boss!!!!! You’re amazing!
My country Ecuador would definitely fail SPECTACULARLY this challenge. We just don't eat spicy food. If we are given any food to the level, say, Mexicans consider spicy, we would die. I least I would do lol.
Sii. Last I visited, after years of living around Hondurans and Chinese people, I tried el ají of the restaurants, and I could it like salsa haha. Our tolerance is close to 0.
I’m half Guatemalan and half Ecuadorian. I went to Ecuador and had a carne asada. My mom put a chili in the pico de gallo and people were screaming LMAO but it was not spicy like at ALLLLLL
@@HaileyCMartinez other Hispanic countries have Mexican food like carne asada and pico de Gallo?
@@KeybladeMaster64 Well carne asada is just grilled steak. They call it asado I think. But my mom calls it’s carne asada so that’s what I say. And they asked my mom to make pico de gallo for them. However my mom did have trouble finding a spicy chili to put in the pico de gallo. That’s not something Ecuadorian eat.
@@HaileyCMartinez I’m saying that because it’s Mexican origin.
Is Dominican food spicy? Not surprised Mexico handles it well 😆
No really. But some of us enjoy it 🌶
Noooo.. not at all 🤣. You can find some spicy dishes (rabo encendio, chivo liniero o picante, etc) but even then it's pretty tame compared to other countries. In my opinion at least.
no, but the girl is half sri lanka and they food is spicy asf 💀
heck no. we barely use pepper or anything like that.
i love how chris looks at monica when she takes her first bite. Also someone let us know if Ivan survived LOL
Always bugs me that ‘Muricans assume that all Latinos eat spicy food.
In Puerto Rico, the spicy sauce we use, it’s only as an afterthought, and very limited.
Plus it is full of flavors and complex.
Not just hot.
Exactly most of South American for example doesn’t do spicy food nor do most Caribbeans either
Puerto Rican aren't Latinos they are Americans
@@familyandfriends3519
Lol
Ok.
The people in the entire Continent are Americans.
PuertoRicans are a Colony of the USA. Caribbeans, with Native, West Africa and Iberian make up.
Finally some nicaragüense representation 😍😍😍😍
Me, an Asian rooting for the Sri Lankan Latina girl 😍
I need to be on this show...I love love love spicy foods

I don't watch buzzfeed anymore but I came back for this video because it reminds me of the old videos they used to do. I miss the old Pero Like crew, the only one I recognize here is Carolina and Iván (I didn't even recognize him until he said his name)
As a puertorican ecuadorian Panamanian and Nicaraguan I LOVEEEEEE spicy food 😋 👌🏼 😍 it's. Personal preference
Us Panamanians like spicy foods
@@miyuki0408 oh really I didn't know that !
Definitely not from your PR side
Lol
As a a black - American I picked the Mexican to win but I guess the Dominican/ Sri Lankan was the strongest soldier. I like hot food, but my stomach has gotten weaker over the years to super 🔥 Hot foods
Do somebody from zacatecas! We love spice more than any other state
🇵🇷🇵🇷!! We don’t do spicy Lmao maybe a couple drops of pique but a whole dish isn’t gonna be spicy lol. My mom hates anything spicy lol I don’t mind it from time to time.
I think it depends on the Rican. My mom’s side drowns everything in pique and my dad’s side thinks black pepper is spicy. I love very spicy food & my sister hates it.
@@tessgonzalez Very true, my uncles are the same they drown it in pique and you can smell it lol. But Yupp my mom is the “black pepper is spicy” type 😂
@@tessgonzalez
Yes,
But PR doesn’t cook spicy dishes by default.
El pique del país is just there on the table for anyone who likes it.
I Mexican and I hade a friend who was purto rican and he could handle spicy food.
He ate everything I ate and with tapatio sauce on everything.when we got drunk and orderd pizza we would dump a whole bottle of tapatio sauce on it. Or we both wouldn’t be satisfied eat it.
I'm Mexican and I don't eat anything spicy, absolutely nothing spicy. but it is true that from babies they give food spicy to almost everyone, and if the food is not spicy it has no flavor
Oh Ivan!, this PR loves his spice. Guess that is what happens when you like in California for most of your life. Overcome and adapt!!! I laughed so much....
I was waiting for the next level 😂
Let's go Mexico
i’m so proud theres Nicaraguan representation! It’s so slept on 🇳🇮💞
I’m half Mexican and Guatemalan, yet I love spicy food and if I get spiced out… I’ll be literally crying and nose snot running and still eating because it’s so good! But I just learn that in Guatemala is not about spicy food too 😭 my Guatemalan abuela gets mad at me for eating so much spicy stuff, even on anything !
That second one looks 💣 yum!
wait u guys only made it to habanero 😩 i eat that on the daily until my stomach hurts 🤣
Can we have them all do the hot ones sauce challenge? Hehehe
As a fellow Puerto Rican that hates spicy food I love to see it 😂🇵🇷
Puerto Rican aren't Latinos until given back to Spain
Ivan you’re letting me down 😂😂😂
My mouth is watering 😋
This is surprising I think out of all the Latin countries Mexico is known for spice
I'm Guatemalan and Dominican so I knew we would do just fine.😝🙌🏽
I cant imagine how their bathroom sessions went later lol 😂
My Puerto Rican Mexican mixed wife's dad is Puerto Rican, and whenever he sees me add hot sauce like ghost pepper and such, he says "that's just wrong" the man enjoys salt and pepper, that's all his flavor is, occasionally seasoning but not much lol
OMGGGOOISHHH i never see Nicaragua in videos. FINALLY!
Nah, I need my cousins on this. They eat spicy food since birth 😭
Food isn’t spicy unless my nose is runny and I regret putting so much chilies/hot sauce. Then I add more hot sauce after it subsides
I love spicy I’ve had my fair share of different foods from different countries and Thailand and Indian food have fairly good spicy levels to their food and it’s delicious 🤤🇲🇽
I once went to a Sri Lankan restaurant nearby and the food was so spicy I never went back even though it was decent lol
As a Mexican, when I saw that a Puerto Rican was in this video I started praying for him to survive lol.
"Whats good mi gente!?" Something a true Mexican from Chucotown would say! Love seeing someone from the 915 on Pero like. I've been watching for years and Chriz is representing El Paso very well👏👏👏 Bravo!!👏👏👏
The secret... eat it slowly, savor the flavor, and you'll be fine.. sort of, more of a fighting chance.. the faster you try to get it over with the more it will kill you, you will be coughing and choking lmao.
The guy that said everything itches, sometimes that is brought on by whatever vitamin the peppers have, his body is telling him he has a vitamin deficiency and needs more of that vitamin.
I don’t know why people think hispanic is one culture, mostly Mexico and some Central American countries eat spicy food, most latin countries do not.
Damn we really done lost 💀
I’ve noticed something tho, the trigueños in PR can usually handle more spice than the paler ones (at least in my family).
But yeah no we pretty much just use a shitload of goya and adobo 🇵🇷😂
Guatemala for the win! :D
🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮
Síííí México 🇲🇽!!! I’d say we came in second place!!❤️❤️
Yall shouldve put me in to represent 🇵🇷😂 I love spicy food
I’m Cuban I love really spicy food!
The thing about this is i dont like eating the way they are 😂 i don’t like to shove food into my mouth and have it all over my face/mouth i eat with grace😂😂
Thing about us mexicans is that we are not spicy-proof, we get hot but we like that, we’ll keep eating. Si pica rico, mejor.
Being half Sri Lankan is an unfair advantage tbh and not representative of the typical heat profile of Dominican food. In this case, Guatemala should've won. 😂
All chili is native to Mexico
I appreciate a nice endorphin rush.
I wanna do this!! I Def would have won😁
I cannot handle spiciness as I’m getting older. As a kid, I could bite into hot peppers like nothing. 💥 adulthood hit, spicy level decreasing each year to now a bag of taki is too much😭same with sweetness… but I’ll curse the day I cannot handle sour!
I developed IBS as I got older so it’s not that I can’t handle spicy food, but it will leave me out of commission and need immediate access to a bathroom for the next 24 hours. Kinda depressing since I used to just douse my food with tapatio lol.
As a puertorican, i feel Ivan's pain. We cant hold our spice. 🤣🤣
should of put an indigenous Mexican we can for sure handle it 😂
@Michelle colonized & anti indigenous term. Blood quantum is bs
@Axcel I. “lighter skin” are of Spaniard or Portuguese decent 😅
Yo siendo puertorriqueña siento que perdería Puerto Rico, no espero mucho 😂
Puerto Rican aren't Spanish and Hispanic and Latino until given back to Spain
@@familyandfriends3519 why? Por qué?
So, the other countries aren’t Latinos because they’re aren’t given back to Spain?

The champs of spice in America 🇲🇽
Are these made by their own chef or are these dogs made from a restaurant? Please, I must know!
I think that there are places like southern India and Sri Lanka that do spice very well and deliciously, and the people there have a high spice tolerance. But for everyone else, spice tolerance if much more personal thing than it is a regional thing.
Ever been to north eastern India or Bangladesh? Both of these regions have the hottest (not the spiciest but certainly the hottest) cuisine in the world. I am a Bangladeshi and I could have easily finished this challenge or any other hot food challenge that they cry over here in the west without batting an eye to be honest. Cause in our regular meals we use green chillies, naga chillies or ghost pepper always, more like 3 times a day for everyday. I have ordered carolina reaper wings quite sometimes that they cry over in the US saying that that’s the hottest pepper on earth, but I honestly did not feel any heat which isn’t tolerable.
@@aap9490 Assam or Nagaland?
@@Toomuchbullshitt what do you mean? I clearly said I am from Bangladesh! That's a whole different country! lol
@@aap9490 you referenced northeastern India? Was wondering where exactly just curious

Spicy food is associated with Mexico. The US, Canada, Caribbean, and South American cuisines are not known to be spicy.
I'm Irish and Mexican. I started eating hot chiles like potato chips when I was a little kid. Then me and mi primos would have que es mas macho contests to see who could eat the hottest things. Years later, I still love spicy food, but now I have an ulcer-must be the Irish- and can't eat it anymore. No offense, but I think the Mexicans won. Just eating the bread shouldn't count.
Facts 🇲🇽🇲🇽
I'm Dominican and Puerto Rican and LOVE me some spicy food 🙂🙃🙂
Spicy good can actually get you high😂
“Is that in that moment (eating the habanero pepper) they knew they fucked up”
If I remember correctly there was a study that said that Mexican women can handle more spicy food than men xD hahaha yass Carooo
Based on the comments I guess my dad, husband and I are built different. Because as puerto Ricans we love spicy food! We collect hot sauces and put it on almost everything ❤️

I think it also just depends on the person and their preferences 😭
