- Your #MINI is too small? No problem: let's maximize it with some trendy 270 liter #roofbox for family travels! ;-) #DIY #Ad: GPU offers & more @Amazon: services.exactcode.de/amzn.cg... You can support my work at: / renerebe github.com/sponsors/rxrbln/

Crappy documentation doesn't stop at software it seems. XD Quite a nice video in my opinion even though it wasn't IT related.
How many SGI Octane can you carry now?
Very nice editing on this one, though the text could linger a bit longer but overall really enjoyed it.
The roofbox is only a little over half (13 kg) the weight of an sgi octane (24.3 kg) ;-)
I very much suspect that the measurements given for where the bars must be mounted is a case of false precision. If I mount the front bar 25cm from the front rail it's safe, but 33cm is dangerous. Seems unlikely.
Anyone know what this type of roof box fitting is called? As I can only buy these roof bars separately without the roof box. So I will have to get another roof box from somewhere else but I'm not sure of the name of this type of fitting. Or links would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
I think many companies have compatible systems, like Thule etc.
You shouldn't be fixing cars with that jacket. Get a motor bike already, and complete the Biker dad aesthetic ;) Jk
Did you buy the roof support separately?
I brought both together in a set from BMW, but you certainly can buy them separately. Or other quality brands, like Thule. I would avoid cheap, no name stuff as it is often not very stable, and at times also less aerodynamic, and thus higher fuel consumption, ...
Interesting. You are the second one with an IT-based CZcams channel that is tinkering with the car that I see. Is that such a thing with computer-oriented CZcams channels? Computers and cars?
Well this is not a new product unbox and review channel. The initial idea was vlog with more low-level details and code to support my open-source work. Unfortunely I'm still severely time limited to professionalize the videos though :-/
@@renerebe You don't have to professionalize either. Just do it the way you think it works for you. I also mean the time required.
Does It runs T2 Linux? Just kidding xD
T2 Tesla port when?
it's running QNX: rene.rebe.de/2013-03-31/mini-connected-runs-qnx/ I would try to hack and tinker with it, just don't want to brick our only car, ... I was considering getting some used nav unit from eBay or so just for hacking on it ;-)
@@estanforth6754 I'm not a huge fan of Tesla's vendor lock in, always connected and overall build quality though. I think I drive this MINI at least a couple of more years until electric cards are more mature and the range and quick charging infrastructure makes family travel in Europe more feasible, ...
@@estanforth6754 the new Model S and X will have AMD APU installed so René should be able to buy them and show us his process to get T2 working on the cars from his office setup. 😂 With all the electronics he has, I believe Rene has some Gallifreyan technology making it easy to store his electronics. 🪛
@@renerebe Nice!
Binary blob free?
Unfortunately not. Most cars are multiple large blobs :-/
Did you fund this from your only fans?
Unfortunately despite voting in polls, iirc nobody signed up there yet. So it's financed by 6x ExactScan.com Pro licenses ;-)
