That Muffler Sucker and the laugh track actually got me! Lol, great stuff Jay & Rivera, this was a perfect match and 100% more convenient than analog pedals. Great choice, great sounds, I love your setup Jay
Great video. Mr. Graydon is one KOOL Cat, as Mike Stern would say. Nothing like a "seasoned" (avoided "old") guitarist ..... has been around, and done so many things, that he can come full-circle and find simple pleasures in the "new generation". LUV it ..... rgds, and all the best.
80's rack sounds are so easily had these days HX FX is taking over for my M9 at one point Amazing emulations and usability for when you have to do a live job with many different sounds or studio-rexording
I still prefer analog and distinct everything for tone. BUT for live and quick work, just use something quick and easy - no need even to bring the amp for sure, it only has 1-2 basic sounds, when the models being used correctly could have tons more AND be good into time effects like reverb, flange, echo..
Sounds like garbage to me, somebody give me a joint and maybe this will start to sound good. He doesn’t use this at all, look at his studio, it’s his amp with ananlog effects and a rock crusher. He must have got paid a lot to sell out like this.
That de tune thing with the simple pitch is killer. Can’t wait for Jays CZcams channel
I just watched an interview with Graydon from 2010. That and this one just prove the man's a certified sound geek, and God bless him for it!
"Somebody get me a joint!" LOL 😆

Excellent video
Awesome discussion. I would drag my tube amps back out but the modeled amps and cabs in the Helix are crazy fun, even without a joint 😎

Rocking grandpa, great skills, and with the sweats and slippers!
Jay, I have been using this hybrid setup for the last 11 years.. Only, to the last year going full Modeler/Full range FRFR monitors. I'm sold..
Much respect to Jay…and Rivera amps

I just bought a Rivera TBR-1SL to go with my HX. I can run the 5CM with it for a true stereo set up. The HX FX rules.
Besides being an incredible jazz guitarist, studio musician, composer, producer, he has engineering too!! Renaissance Man Jay!!! He's done with weed!!
Are you using the Rivera head for clean signal only? No switching to another channel?
Use the helix to change channels !
Pure entertainment! I think my cat puked twice!
Yes...he got paid!!!😂🤘
Sounds like some of Zappa and his other guitarists tones from the 80's.
❤🎉

I agree cables and plugs get rid of them. Ditch everything and helix straight into PA, grab some good IR's and you will get that analogue amp sound.
I dont think Jay has enough gear...
Well what else does he need?
Willem Dafoe really went down hill
This guy may have a Rivera amp but I bet with every bone in his body he's trying to come up with a reason why he has to use it
Sounds drunk
