Been doing this for years.I only use cleaning vinegar and Damon Red Coat. Never had a comeback for over36 years. The majority of my jobs were rust problems.I always solider pin holes with a huge solider iron.

Fun fact if you live in San Antonio…. I couldn’t find redkote at any autozone and figured I would have to order it. O-Reillys carry’s that shit in stock!! I need to redo my tank because I didn’t pay as much attention to cleaning the inside when doing it. I had red fuel for like 4 days😂. Anyway, I’ll knock it out soon and get the ride back on the road. I have a Buell Blast Bobber project that I have had for a couple of years. There is no knowledge base for them. I’ve considered giving up several times but I think if I could finish it that, a VLX chopper would be next.
When cleaning and Coating new Aftermarket Harley 5 gallon split tanks. I would clean each half with acetone, drain then coat as you shown in video then proceed to the other half of the tanks? How much acetone and Red Coat should i use in each half?
