Hey man, since you are the Gimp Guru (like blender guru), I'd like to request you to make CZcams thumbnails and tutorials using GIMP - Free software inspired by/similar to other really big youtubers and comparing them side by side. Usually when someone is starting to make CZcams videos and thumbnails they'd go for similar thumbnails of their favorite youtubers like MrBeast, Pewdiepie etc. and it would be a good idea for your channel as well and people who are coming from photoshop and people who are new to GIMP and Photoshop in general. Thank you.

My Gimp 2.10.22 don't have that Palette for some reason, YT Thumbnail Tut Palette (5).....I'm trying to follow your CZcams Thumbnail tutorial...where would it be?????

Ok the alt click option isn't working for me on my Mac(Option click for Mac users) to make the selection paths highlighted with my image...not sure what to do
It great video but every time i use the paths tool and click selection from paths a massive line appears through the subject any help would be great. i figured it ou
everytime i cut out the image and click select path when im finish it shows a random line going right through the pic that I never even added and it ruins the picture.. Im so confused it happened like 15 times straight
Hi. Your ideas and outlay are fantastic. I have been able to update many of my thumbnails to a higher level. But your video is hard to follow. I had to stop and rewind countless times. I watch it on my tablet and then reproduce it on my laptop. What would help to make it easier to follow your video are: Make a circle around your mouse pointer or make it in another way easier to follow. Go way slower when you click on things and move between menus. (That way people do not need to pause the video as much to keep up). You can hover on stuff for a second before clicking or moving to another menu to give people time to follow you. Put large text on the screen when you say a shortcut. Consider telling people how to create something (always assume it is a newbie watching). You selected a color pallet that was custom-made, but I had to go learn how to make it as it was my first time using gimp. If you can, zoom in on the recording when you select something. It may look good on a laptop, but if you view something on a tablet or cellphone, it is almost impossible to see what you click on. These are just what would have made it easier for me to follow your video and would have made your video super in my view. All the best and thank you for sharing the video.

Hey! I've been using gimp on and off for years but jsut starting playing around again (not for any reason. I just like following your tutes!) but one thing I do notice is that you use paths quite a bit, even when stroking a selecting. What's the difference between Alpha to selection > new layer > Right click > edit > stroke selection? -
Pls help. After pasting a new image, how do you scale that image separately from another image without scaling them both together? I feel like I've been trying this for hours and I have no idea how to separate the two when scaling. >.
You have to change the font size of the selected text using the Text Toolbox or Tool Options to scale it up or down without converting the text layer to a standard pixel layer. Otherwise, simply use the scale tool on the text and it will scale up or down (though you have to grab the scale tool from the Toolbox manually if you have an active text box).
Let me see if I got this: 1. Shift + S grabs the scale tool 2. M grabs the move tool 3. etc Great shortcuts - Is there a tutorial showing all these? By the way, you make designing thumbnails look so easy!!!!!

Great Video! You can also reset FG & BG colors with the D key and flip them with the X key.

Nvm, I figured it out...it's in the top right corner Scale: Layer, instead of Scale: Image. x0
