  • Father of the nagas, AZ Phizo who is from Khonoma village Nagaland.
    AZ Phizo’s 14 point guidelines to Nagas:-
    1. Nation: The Nagas are a nation in their own right.
    2. Sovereignty: Nagaland is a sovereign state and the Nagas had no treaty with the British and we never became a protectorate.
    3. Autonomy: India offered Autonomy to the Nagas in 1947 when she was about to become independent and the Nagas rejected the offer because we are a sovereign nation before the India became independent. India became a nation only after her constitution became law on January 26, 1950.
    4. Internal affairs: Nagaland’s problem is not India’s Internal Affairs.
    External Affairs: Every sovereign nation has her own external affairs.
    5. Security, finance, defence and communication: These arc subjects we the Nagas need never worry and we must be wise about these things,
    6. Money, finance, and viability: These arc frightening words for educated men who never realized that their illiterate forefathers never worried these things. Only a clerk-minded personality worries because he cannot see one yard ahead of his writing-hand.
    7. Underground, hostiles, rebels: The Indians call the sovereign Nagas as-“Underground” and “Hostiles” to make it appear to the outside world that the Nagas are rebels. And every time the Indian call the Nagas as hostiles, underground or rebels they are telling lies though they may not know.
    8. Secede, secession: The Nagas are not Indian and these words do not apply to us.
    9. Constitution, movement, struggle, independence: The Nagas are defending their country. It is not a movement and we arc not struggling for Independence because we are a sovereign nation, independent, free and we the Nagas have nothing to do with the Indian constitution.
    10. Grievances, oppression, suppression: India invaded Nagaland arid we are defending our sovereignty as an independent nation. Our problem with India is aggression but not grievance, oppression or suppression.
    11. Minority, tribal: the Nagas are not a minority in India and the word tribal is the dirtiest word in politics. It is an insult.
    12. Self-determination, Human Rights: The Nagas are not asking for self-determination. And we are not fighting for human rights. These two phrases are matters of “internal affairs.”
    13. Disputes, problem, issue, demand, claim, contention: The problem between Nagaland and India is not a dispute, it is not an issue as the Nagas are not demanding or claiming Independence from India. Our problem against India’s invasion and the Indian contention is only to obscure this basic fact.
    14. Political right, political justice: The Nagas are not fighting for our political right. We are not asking political Justice. These words are ‘internal affairs” in politics.

    Those who blame AZ Phizo for Shillong accord read this :-
    In 1967, when the Naga underground NNC/FGN numbering around 500 under the command of General Mowu went to China to take military training, back home in Nagaland a new political wing known as (RGN) Revolutionary Government of Nagaland was formed under the leadership of Kughato Sukhai and General Zueheto, the splinter group appointed Scato Swu as Prime Minister who retire from FGN. The RGN was opposed to FGN/NNC. When General Mowu returned to Nagaland from China, he was unaware of the political situation in Nagaland. General Mowu along with 168 of his soldiers were captured along with all the arms and ammunitions by the Indian Army in collaboration with the RGN. General Mowu was sent to Delhi for interrogation and all the captured guerrillas were sent to various prison all over India ( Assam, Orissa and Kala pani (Andaman and Nicobar). Shillong accord of 1975 was signed to release the prisoners of war (Pow) who were ready to face dreaded consequences. The RGN was dissolved and 335 of RGN soldiers were absorbed in new raised 111 and 112 BSF battalion, Zueheto was inducted as the battalion Commander of the BSF and Scato Swu became a member of the Parliament.
    Now if you are in Phizo's shoe why should you condemn the Shillong accord 1975????? he was betrayed by his own people.

    • @ayo8670
      @ayo8670 Před 4 lety +2

      Absolutely a fantastic justification! Hahaha,
      Surrender the very nation's rights you are fighting for in exchange for some prisoners, that way you can definitely free your nation. Lol. I don't know if you are related to him or to those of the Shillong accordists, but please wake up and call a spade a spade. It is this kind of attitude that is breaking up our nation's unity. Those who betrayed their nation are called "traitors" by the rest of the world and here you are, justifying their action.

    • @dogstar4175
      @dogstar4175 Před 4 lety +2

      @@ayo8670 There are about 7 Naga Nationalist groups at present juncture fighting for Naga rights (All against AZ Phizo) . If these groups achieve the objectives of freedom and sovereignty, only then I will consider them as the champion of Naga Nationalism. If they can't achieve these objectives, I will judge them as tax collectors and blood sucking parasites. For me they are equal to the Shillong accord members and nothing.

    • @ayo8670
      @ayo8670 Před 4 lety +1

      @@dogstar4175 You have the right to do so, and I totally agree with you. They will be contempt more than the accordists if after rejecting the shillong accord they cannot bring a better solution, but in the meantime we the people need to give them our support. It would be a terrible mistake on our part to judge them now. Most of the time we tend to look only from the angle of affiliations like my village, my tribe and boundaries. If we take out all these from the issues at hand we can clearly see who is for the Nagas and who is not. I'm not excluding myself from these weaknesses. I wish we all can rise above these.

      The division of naga national workers(and formation of RGN) was because of internal conflict. The leaders of the FGN were alienated and betrayed because of misguidance from external sources which led them to leave the FGN.

    I belong from changlang District in arunachal. Many from our present generation won't know about phizo or who he was in our areas or even know about why there is nscn in our area in the first place. Nscn are looked as outsiders out here. And today they really are different from what they stood in the past.
    I was always interested in naga freedom movement history despite being from arunachal and our people and area having not much history in it.
    As someone who always studied out of my native place I used to come home during vacation and get in touch with old people and listen to their tales of tribal clan origin, war stories etc sipping local rice beer in the fireplace.
    During such stories I heard the name phizo by one of my grandfather. He said that phizo came to our place. He was like a magician.he could disappear or something. 😅
    They the villagers had no idea probably who he was.
    But he must have had a strong personality that even in a remote corner an old person remembered his name.
    Personally, I think that was probably the time when phizo was said to be in hiding in Eastern nagaland from the Indian forces.
    Mrever our region was under NEFA and not properly administrated.

    Hey guys, as I continue reading the valuable comments, I can see that we are so engrossed with our own respective unique cultures and tradition that the comments by different communities is starting to turn into debates, then to arguments, then verbal abuses...
    Why bros, why? Why can't we be ever continue having constructive discussion?
    Why are we all trying to show superiority against one another? Are we actually that childish to act so stupidly that any wicked minded person from beyond North-east will find it very easy to instigate hatred among ourselves and each other. Why are we developing ourselves as easy targets for them?
    If we do not know how to appreciate something then let us not try to at destruct anything.
    I may sound a little out of propotion but let's try to think and act together for at least once and see if it REALLY WORKS!
    God bless North-east 🙏🙏🙏

    Phizo is no doubt a hero to the Nagas.Because of him the call\idea to unify the Nagas spread far and wide. Therefore, the spirit of nationalism among the Nagas came into being. He was a legendary figure in the history of the Nagas but sadly, he fled to England and never came back to unite the Nagas. Whatever the reason maybe, he can't be considered as the father of the Nagas. The cry for unity and reconciliation among the young Nagas has become stronger. We the young generations are the torch bearers of the Nagas, and will uphold, and will let the freedom movement become stronger.

Had he not go to England to become Englishman, had he endured with the Naga people in Naga territory during the infamous grouping by the Indian Army, he would have been undisputed leader of Naga freedom struggle. After he left for England with all the financial contribution by the Naga villagers, nothing about his achievements was heard. P. S- This statement is not to contradict but the fact statement.

When General Mowu returned to Nagaland from China, he along with 168 of his soldiers were captured along with all the arms and ammunitions by the Indian Army in collaboration with the RGN. General Mowu along with all the captured guerrillas were sent to various prison all over India ( Assam, Orissa and Kala pani (Andaman and Nicobar). Shillong accord of 1975 was signed to release the prisoners of war (Pow) who were ready to face dreaded consequences. The RGN was dissolved and 350 of RGN soldiers were absorbed in new raised 111 and 112 BSF battalion, Zueheto was inducted as the battalion Commander of the BSF and Scato Swu became a member of the Parliament.

You need to travel back in time and see the atrocities and the pressure when they were badly outnumbered, with better and more equipment. I bet you have not seen even one person got killed in front of your eyes. And here you are talking as if you had been there and as if you would say No. You don't care about rapes and killing done to your dear ones? You don't care if I burn your house, the one you are living in right now, and make you homeless and force you to live in the jungle for years, surviving on leaves? Try to suffer and sacrifice like them and then speak or get some help.
