Yet he sees this reporter clearly distraught and goes on to use the same spin-doctor talking points and gives just a complete word salad of an answer. He’s ridiculous.
Edit: shocked at how many of you don’t comprehend my point. She is crying and hurt, she’s seeing her nation be destroyed. Do you honestly think this long-winded answer with really jumbled points made her or any Ukrainian watching feel any genuine comfort? Or being told that the UK was one of the first to help and will continue to help is in any way beneficial? If you agree with that and are salivating for an argument then ok by all means go ahead, but my god this was a clear question and it deserved a clear answer.

We know how the Tories like to double count things like police, or nursing jobs.
The UK has also guaranteed loans for up to £500m through MDBs.
40m is about 8% of 500m. Which is just over half the World Bank loan rate for Ukraine... Which in 2020 stood at 14.3%.

Sorry... I do really feel for the Ukrainian people, her frustration is completely understandable and the desperation we all feel is quite palpable... But I have to say, what she's suggesting is ludicrous.
She said: "there are 30km of mines" going up to the Polish border.
That's not true, if there are mines, they would've had to be laid by Ukraine, no Russian troops on the ground were operating near the Polish border to lay them, certainly the roads leading to Poland are NOT mined!
or maybe did she say "lines"?(as in 30km long lines of refugees?) in which case, also... how would NATO air defense fix that... only a more effective admittance process can solve that, and as far as I can see, practically everything that can be done to quickly accept refugees, Has already been done.
She also said: "Britain guaranteed our security under Budapest memorandum".
Indeed, but the Budapest memorandum was not a defense pact, It states that firstly the individual signatory nations would not violate Ukraine territorial integrity, and that they would support Ukraine if another of the signatories violated it. The scope of this support was also outlined, and what U.K and U.S so far did in support of Ukraine goes far beyond what the Budapest memorandum demanded of them... nowhere does it state the signatories would go to war directly if Ukraine's territorial integrity is threatened.
then she said: "Because NATO is unwilling to defend, because NATO is afraid of WW3, but it is already started".
-NATO has been doing anything in it's power to support Ukraine's war effort short of directly fighting the Russian invasion, from Intel, radar information, satellite surveillance, military coordination of Ukrainian troops, enormous amounts or armaments, humanitarian aid, opened borders for refugees, Hacking and disruption of Russian communications and the Russian propaganda machine, as well as the entirety of the Western propaganda machine fully and unconditionally supporting the Ukrainian war effort... BUT it can not go in and start shooting down Russian aircraft, Because Ukraine is not a NATO member, and can not invoke direct military intervention from NATO member nations.
WW3 has not started... this is a Russo-Ukrainian war.. when WW3 starts, nukes will fly.
I understand completely her frustration, being from former Yugoslavia myself, And having friends and family in both Ukraine AND Russia I am upset, frustrated, depressed and frankly a nervous wreck ever since this madness started... I know war is not fair, injustice is all around, the world seems blind and deaf to suffering... but we must be realistic here, most of what she said is neither factual nor realistic.
