The first tiger was actually a panther, you could see it by the turret, he pulled back to bait you up so the tiger which flanked would get a sideshot :P bad identification which caused you to lower your guard not knowing there was another tank before getting destroyed. Slanted turret side = panther

@@s2korpionic Pretty much, if I remember right the allies only encountered a few Tigers on the western front but Tiger phobia was extremely rampant and kills were super overreported.
@@connorbranscombe6819 also allied tankers would say tigers encountered in after action reports but in actuality it was mis identified Panzer IV or Panther

@@poliznia No, not really. The Firefly used a 17 pounder gun, the head is the normal M4 Sherman but theres an extra compartment in the back (used to fit the gun and added more space). The M4A3E8 76 (W) or whatever its called is used by the Americans.

OMG!!! That was so intense, good team work by all . Credit to the driver it can be a boring job but he was on point all the timeđ and the commander call-outs clear and concise, and the gunner trusting firing commands even when he couldn't see the target . You definitely need a loud hailer on that tank though, like in "Apocalypse Now"

This game gives me chills, it can get so intense so quickly. The guy calling out locations really ramped up the realism.

Ps there is no Fireflys in HLL yet so that's not what you thought you were driving.
They have to support the infantry though, they could spend the whole game hunting enemy tanks but if the infantry can't kill the enemy infantry they won't capture any ground.
MrMattumbo no cog is right. When near a tank or hunting one never fire tracers. Just find the tank and destroy it. Then help infantry. But if you have no reason to believe a tank is near yeah. Go nuts with the tracers. But yeah they will learn stuff eventually. That and target identification and engine audio. Once they learn that they will be set
@@chebb3699 Yeah cog is absolutly right. Even good AT guys will try everything once they spotted you to kill you. Or a good officer will just mark you on the map as a tank and the whole enemy team knows you there, just for firing your tracers.

so no matter if you're the Gunner or the driver you're always the commander. let the commander be the commander at least make your command sound like a suggestion instead of an order kind of takes away from the immersion of the game when you're the gunner in commanding the whole tank.

I would love a tank overhaul rn the driver feels a bit boring, I mean it's fun and all but it's like just staring at the war while you expect orders, I would love to fire one of the guns like the 30 cal, and for the comander rol, being able to actually open the hatch and use binoculars will make the role much more fun to play, because you would be able to spot and have a more open view

Hey Karma 1 tip for the gunner on tanks. Dont use your coaxial mg to much since the tracers gives away your position really fast. Just use your main cannon as much as possible. Only use your coaxial when its really needed. AT's will flank you and kill you real quick.

I'm not sure if you know but you can switch friendly markers to 500m, through video it is hard to tell but it seems that your's is shorter.

It can be iffy. There used to be a bug that was t common and was rare but months ago it would make your shot go in random spots each time. Idk if itâs still in the game tho. Havenât seen it since
In FURY... they were Smart enough to get OUT of the Tank at some point, to kill the enemy in close contact. But overall, decent job.
Well they also weren't weapon restricted by class in the film... đ
0:56 The long gun Shermans in game aren't Sherman Fireflies. They're Sherman 76 with the Easy Eight being the most popular one
Easy 8s werent the most popular one, they were hardly ever used. E meaning experimental. Most 76s u see are just updated M4A1s and M4A3s with the occasional jumbo.

Not exactly the E prefix is for the model of tank not experimental example.
M4A3E2, A3 meaning ford GAA engine, E2 meaning Jumbo Armour layout.
M4A2E6, A2 being the twin engine, E6 being the HVSS suspension.

Also, what version is mostly known as the Easy Eight? The M4A3 and you just said it yourself.

If youre going to battle a Tiger i would recommend getting the 76mm sherman. The 75mm doesnt have the armor and punch to fight it. Unless u get behind it. If he spots youwhile in the 75mm well youre just fucked lmao. Atleast the 76mm can take some hits from the tiger when angled good. A Tiger can 1 shot the 75mm in the front.

sigh...waiting for the day where there is full interiors for tank crews to play in, having to look through that tank viewport 24/7 is so nauseating. And i mean..full interiors for tank crews to mess around with would b friggin awesome.

This game is more an entree into the FPS genre than any game this year. The amount of completely new player to FPS that I've encountered in this game was off the charts the last 2 weeks.
Felt like I was playing people with one arm and one bad eye. Half the time they were just happy to be a part of the team, the other half was them listening for 3 seconds and then getting distracted.
The game is so good, frumpy players who can't work with a team because "muh fun trumps your fun". Classically American.

it pisses me off that you call the 76mm a firefly, sense its probably a m4a2 or m4a3 76 Sherman, and the firefly uses a way different gun

Brilliant game, but impossible to play due to massively poor performance. I'm getting 25 fps on low settings with a GTX 1080 (see a high of 92 and dips to 15, average about 25fps). Karmakut, how do you get good framerate in this?
Hmm, you might be experiencing a bug. I'm using a GTX 1070 and average around 60 fps for most maps and sometimes dip to ~45 if things get intense. I'm using a mix of settings with everything set to high except epic textures, epic AA, epic view distance, epic post, medium SSAO, and motion blur off. You can also try reducing sound to low quality as that may give you a bunch of frames and I haven't noticed any difference between that and the higher settings.
Also there's an update coming out tomorrow with bug fixes so maybe that will help you out.
@@MikeCampo Hey, thanks for the info. I'm hoping tomorrow's patch helps me out. I may also try to re-install the game if that patch doesn't work. Obviously something is awry with my configuration somewhere.

@@MikeCampo Thanks! The new patch did help, I went from 25fps average up to 45fps average and the major framerate swings and stuttering is basically gone. I then went on to delete the HLL folder in appdata and go up to about 50 average. Then I added -dx12 to the command line in steam and gained another 5'ish fps, so sitting in the mid 50's now and the game is finally fun!
This has better graphics than the real movie.

I know itâs just a game but the way you guys are using armour is kind of wrong... doctrine would tell you armour is always placed either in line with or in front of friendly infantry. This is coming from someone who is an actual crew commander in a mechanized infantry unit IRL.

What with the mist n all, I know being a tanker was a hard job but IRL back then spotting and then id'ing infantry and not Tk'ing.... in the icy mists.... o.0 7
I think the tank combat is actually pretty terrible. I know they try and balance things but the Panzerschreck is to weak. Shermanâs survive insane numbers of hits from every direction from panthers and tigers. Like the fact is the American tanks are so over powered itâs stupid. Post Scriptum definitely does tank combat and armor in a way more realistic and way. I really donât even bother being a tanker in this game.
But you know that they do that, because they wanted to make tank battle more fair? What kind of fun will everyone have, when your M4 Sherman is getting destroyed in matter of seconds, because got one-shot from Panzerschreck, or enemy tank. Its only a game. And yes, i know that in this matter PS is better, but now (26.02.2021) Post Scriptum is dying, and HLL playerbase is getting bigger and bigger. BTW, they got one-shoted in 13:30. And they were playing with Sherman Jumbo, that was much more armored to survive Tiger and Panther shots lol. Even in WarThunder Jumbo can survive multiple hits from tigers and panthers.

Not enough active players is the main downfall. Imagine it with the playerbase of Squad or this game
