I would call it the slaab era. The screw era.I’m from Alabama. I was listening to chopped and screwed music in the late 80s. I had real grey tapes that my bro used to send me in the from Texas

I’ve been saying for a while now that we need to start going back hard with the Screw music and just stick with that. A 3rd generation screw movement is a must right now 🤘🏾🔩🍇💯

The petty beefs didn’t help Houston at all! Paul Wall vs Cham. Ro & Thug, Flip & Tip divided the city, ESG vs Flip, Ro vs Everybody, Pimp vs Atl, Face vs Troy. North vs South. Mike Jones vs Trae….so much beef.

As far as Drill Music and Trap Music, all it is Chicago and Atlanta versions of gangsta rap. As far as Houston, we just made regular gangsta rap or street music in Texas. Houston went through four eras. The late 80s-early 90s era (Rap-A-Lot, UGK (yea they’re from Port Arthur but they help launch the Htown rap scene) Street Military), the mid to late 90s (Suave House, Screwed Up Click and the rise of Swisha House), early 2000s (Lil Flip signing to major deal, Swishahouse blowing up commercially) and 2010 and beyond (Travis Scott, Sauce Twinz, Megan Thee Stallion, Maxo Kream, etc.)

@@ChowtimeTV Yea but I think Houston is so diverse that the city can’t just have one sound. It so many artists in Houston. Dallas is the same way.

Houston is more diverse than all of those other places... (even though the industry tries to hide it)... Zro, Pimp, Flip,Pokey, Botany, Wine-O, 3-2,Fat Pat, Black Monks, Trinity Garden Cartel, Face, Willie D,Slim Thug, Gorilla Maab, Big Moe, KeKe, Lil O, HAWK, SPM, Sauce Walka, Bleeda, Cal Wayne, Tobe, Youngstar, K-Rino, Me.... Alllll sound different, and none of my potnas sound like any of them... We are something else here... Thats why they hated Screw and Pimp or anyone else trying to bring artist down here together without the majors... Country Rap Tunes is a thang... they hold that brand in the mud because the entire rap industry eats off Houston as a market segment subsidizing other cities' artist...
Drake, Kendrick, Jay Z, and Nipsey (RIP) can all tell you that.
They all got songs about Houston for that very pupose.

We gotta bring that Country Rap Tunes back but add some new ingredients and blast that name as often as possible so the masses say it
