Black Ovis Customer Service was a big help when I needed some help picking out my second pair of Crispi boots. I purchased the Crispi Briksdal MTN GTX and could not be happier. The boots fit me perfectly right out of the box.

Thanks for the review guys and I was really glad to find this boot review video as I was wishing I had asked Aron a few more questions about the boot at TAC in SD the other weekend. Great boots and they fit me great right out of the box to the field.

I've had pretty good dealings with Crispi - on my second set of Nubuck Briksdal GTX's because I sent the first pair back for warranty and they got lost at the factory.
I will say my one frustration is the glue and having to be worried about them on an evening around a campfire.
Was able to build a fire a few nights on my last sheep hunt as we were in and around ALders and found some dead stuff and having to take them off and worry about fire around my wool socks and crocs is NOT ideal. Plus the ability to be able to dry them in an emergency with out compromising them would be huge.

Been using the salomon quest for years but want to try those altitudes.. that will probably be my next 2 season hiking style boot. I have a bunch of scarpa and la sportiva mountain boots along with some Crispi birkstals (super stiff 'ski boot' and narrow) but for easy days that altitude would be perfect below treeline. I use obenhauf's heavy duty LP and snow seal on my boots. It will mess with the breathability a bit but they will be waterproof.

I had a pretty bad experience with the Colorado’s, but I trust Aron’s opinion, so I’m going to give the Briksdal mnt a try.

What kind of issue did you have with the Colorados? I just added a pair to the stable.

@@five9eight I had the eyelet bust off the boot on the first hike out. To be fair, I only noticed some shotty work on one of the boots, but still, for $400, I expected better. I literally just laced them moderately tight for a short break-in hike, and the eyelet snapped clean off before I even hit the trailhead in them for the first time. All other aspects of the boot seemed to be great. They fit well, the stitching was good, but the eyelets were loose, and not riveted in flush with boot, and the one anchoring eyelet literally snapped in half right after I laced up and took about 20 steps lol. I have never had any boot do that.

Hey I have a pair of Kenetrek hardscrabble hikers and Hanwag Tatra Top GTX. I want to get a pair of crispi. I'm not really sure what I'm wanting to try out. Super light flexible boot or a stiffer one. I prefer non-insulated boots. Any helpful suggestions to get me started would be great.

How are these stiffer style boots in a archery situation obviously Aaron is a pretty big bow hunter any thought to these boots on archery stalks?
