It’s very hard to get Black people to request to hear an Eminem record or song. He’s technical as a lyricist for sure, but his music lacks soul and doesn’t move people. It’s very hard to get Black people to request to hear an Eminem record or song. He’s technical as a lyricist for sure, but his music lacks soul and doesn’t move people. Kind of hard to be the GOAT of a Black musical art form like hip hop if your music doesn’t move the people who actually created the art form to begin with. It’s like saying you’re the Goat of reggae music without the vast majority of Jamaicans ever requesting to hear your music.

If you didn't know that, you've probably only heard his straight up hip-hop stuff from 96 to early 2000s. Which is my favourite era too. But Kamikaze, which is more recent, was good because it focused less on pop and more of a return to rap for hip-hop folks.
