You should try Fishing Hut in Maskeliya. It's a hidden paradise with old British Colonial era fishing cabins next to a freezing cold river. You can book it through Blue Magpie Resort. It's a bit difficult to reserve but well worth it. It also has a quick access route to real Adam's Peak through the mountains.

@@theNicoleRyan It's run by the Moray Tea Estate, Maskeliya not a typical hotel catered for tourists. So facilities are minimalistic no wifi. Just youtube Fishing Hut Maskeliya you will fall in love. No online reservations. May have to find their number online and call in for reservations. I would ask a local to do it for you.

If you are into camping, Try Upper diyaluma falls , Amazing natural ponds and great camping site, you can rent out camping equipment for cheap
I didn’t realize you could camp there! We just left that area but we will try and go back to the area before we leave because we love to camp!☺️

There's another beautiful hike to Bambarakanda if you climbed down from the other side of the park. It's a little difficult to find the path and would probably take more than 5 hours on foot. So it will be a one way journey and the path is called the Devil's Staircase - the hardest drive in Sri Lanka. You can get to the tallest waterfall Bambarakanda on the way. It connects to Kalupahana junction somewhere bellow Haputale. The van can come around and take you from there. However it's probably another full day's journey 🙂😉
Horton Plains is my favourite place in Sri Lanka, you almost covered everything perfectly and luckily...❤🇱🇰

We started traveling in Mexico a year ago this month☺️ We extended our time in Sri Lanka so we’re headed back up in the north of Sri Lanka and seeing new cities we didn’t see yet. Our next country after Sri Lanka will be Jordan!
