If anyone's asking why the CODM one looks so fudged, it's because the first half is taken from the OG MW games, while the latter cocking half is a weird custom one based on the MW2019 one.
JG Beta(MW Triology), Actual S-74u, AKS underfold stock(MWR), Heavily futurised(2019Mobile), Type 3 dust cover(MWReboot), Type 3 and AKM pistol grip swap(BlkOpsCW)
I love how Treyarch, AFTER MW19 didn't call it an SMG, called it an SMG. I guess they're accidentally correct though, as Russian military apparently designated it as an SMG because they wanted it to be treated as such due to it's compact nature. Whether it was intentional, or not, they still failed practically though as it would not matter to tell the players how to treat such compact rifle in a gameplay sense.
whats funny is lots of people were weirded out by mw22 putting it as a assault rifle instead of smg. They were saying IW doesn't understand guns cuz of that lmao.
Little opinion here (you can luv it or hate it) I would classify the AK 74u as a PDW tbh, here are some requirements that the gun fits in with my understanding of criteria for a PDW 1. Shortened version of a rifle, a Type 4 PDW (I wont get into type 3 or less) 2. Given to specialized troops (tank crews, mortar teams, etc) that are not expected to be in combat, but need a gun if they do (can’t have a full size rifle but need more than a pistol) 3. Can technically be compact enough to conceal if needed
I wonder what made them put it in the SMG category for so many years. I wonder if it was put in mistakenly first in COD4 and then the devs just grew a habit to put it there for the following titles.
Yeah, but the MIP Light short for the 47 is not as short as the AKS-74u, i approximate it to be around 10", so when using the MIP Light Short, it will convert it into a Century Arms Draco or AKS-74K if you use the 5.45.
Rule cartridge and the operating principle determines the type of weapon is not important for developers? Like, if I cut off the butt and shorten the barrel of an AK-74, it will become an SMG... With an intermediate cartridge. The fact that it was issued to drivers, tank crews, pilots and those who work in narrow spaces does not give the right to belittle its dignity. And no, in the USSR it was not called SMG.
Ah yes, it only took 15 years for this gun to finally be correctly classed as a rifle and not a submachine gun. Too bad they _still_ haven't used the right name for it, not once.
Gotta love how much of a kitbash/Bubba wet dream the '74u' from MW(3) is. Milled receiver, underfolder stock, _zero_ barrel given how dummy short the handguard is (it's legit chamber-nothing-muzzle. Thing would be as accurate as a dollar store toy pistol), unnecessary/useless rails on 3s version, I think that one even got a 7,62 mag aswell... If that were real it would give Brandon Herrera an honest to god aneurysm.
It may have taken sixteen years, but the AKS-74u is finally in the assault rifle category where it belongs 😌
So its not an smg?
@@DR-nz9ns nope. SMGs fire pistol rounds. The AKS-74u fires 5.45x39. It’s basically just a very compact version of the AK-74 assault rifle.
@@DR-nz9ns carbine.
@@bohashem921 Carbines are still assault rifles
@@DoingTheBestICan Not exactly. An Assault rifle has to be designed for infantry use, be select fire, and fire an intermediate caliber.
I like how you included the MW2019 one despite it not being a separate gun, just a set of attachments for the AK-47.
I like how this modification is even possible in video games
cod mobile also has the same one with its AK-47 too bad he didn’t show it tho
Funny enough because it really don't look like one, barrel is shorter, the sights aren't correct, it looks more like the shitty "beta ak" airsoft gun

the model originally comes from call of duty online

@@14spiderman The KN-44 from BO3 has the character using a mag to knock out away the empty one. This one doesn't.

the AKS-74U from Cod 4 Modern Warfare (plus the remastered version) is most likely based on the GF-76 Airsoft Gun, which I now realized.
2:15-2:30. I love the look of the AKS-74U.
1:07 this game my Favorite
Fun fact: The first AK is actually not a AKS-74U. It is based of a AK-47 Beta which is not a real firearm but an airsoft gun
AKS-74u looks like AK-47 from Call of Duty The Video Game Evolution 2023

@@polskabalaclava Yes, that's what my comment states.
I wish we were able to put the underfolding stock on the Kastov 74u in MWII to replicate the AK-74u from COD4.
Weirdly depicted as an SMG in most games despite using 5.45 rounds, glad MW2 2022 depicted it into AR at least.

It's still technically correct if you put Soviet doctrine into account where they issued one of these to non Frontline troops.

The best one was definitely mw 2019. It rlly showed how old these ak's are. But they are still reliable weapons
