Just feel the need to share this with every human being alive: Julian is the absolute coolest and nicest dude in the whole universe. Snuck me into their 21+ show in philly in July. Eternally grateful to him.

Cristina I met him the day before at a meet and greet with the voidz and I don’t remember how the conversation between him and I started but he asked if I was going to go to their show the next day and I told him that I was all bummed out that I couldn’t because it was 21+ (I’m 18) so he said I should get a fake ID and I said I didn’t have the time for that haha so then he just got my name and number and said to show up at the venue the next day and he’d get me in no problem. I show up at the venue and I met him at the back door and he snuck me in the back so I wouldn’t have to deal with the bouncers and I just stayed in the room while they did soundcheck. Definitely the coolest experience of my life, I wish I could have properly thanked him but I was in such shock by the whole experience I could barely talk to him haha

The one thing I absolutely adore about Julian and the musicians he's worked with is that you can hear the influences of the music these people like into their own music. I love how they always give respect to black artists and how they inspire them rather than keep them on the dark and pretend everything is original. I hope to meet them one day. ❤
I managed to buy the original version of that genesis record for like €10 in an awesome vinyl store whose owner I befriended. Enjoyed it thoroughly

Honestly??? That Kingsley Bucknor record was one of the first things I downloaded back in college. Used to spin it heavy during my college radio days. Kind of sad to see it fetishized as just some kitsch record with a funky cover. "Don't Give Up Ya Luv" is an eternal jam.
