Only thing that concerns me is when the tyre iron is hooked under the duck head and you start leveraging the tyre off the wheel, you can hear the tyre iron hit the rim which leads me to think you still have to be very careful not to scratch the rim. Would have been great if Rabaconda somehow had a plastic end covering for the tyre iron to reduce the risk of scratching the rim further.

    Hy Kyle, thanks for the great video and showing all the steps including balancing, and yes I agree that Dual-sports (and Adv) tyres need to be ballanced. I went to a few shops where they refused doing it, because they thout it is not needed what a joke. I have one question though, Tyre manufacturers seem to put a dot on the tyre during manufacturing where the heavies point from that particular tyre is. The reason behind it is that you should place this oposite of the rims hevierst point (mostly the airinlet). While watching this video I did not see that you used this dot. does it not exist anymore, or does this methode does not work?

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching! Tire balancing it very important. Most DOT tires should have dots, If they are not perfectly balanced. The Yellow dot is located at the heaviest point on the tire and a red dot is at the tire’s lightest point. The mechanic wound position and balance accordingly.

    Have you ever used the No-mar tire changer? It looks like because the yellow thing and the other tools, yes. How would you compare the two of these products? . I have the NO-Mar

      Funny you should ask... Here is my NoMar video from 14 Years Ago. The NoMar unit was FANTASTIC until it got stolen from my side yard. Loved it, but it was HEAVY! I had the hitch mounted unit as I wanted it to be portable. I did travel with it... and to mobile changes but it was not stealthy to say the least. This new Rabaconda unit is really portable and I like the duckhead portion over the NoMar bar. The Yellow Thing is a lifesaver! I just wish it wasn't so heavy as I'd like to take it on the trails with me. Both tools are fantastic. Just like I'd like to have a full K&L pneumatic unit too! But they are $3k and the size of a small refrigerator :)

    Great demo, but still too much of a pain for me. 25 bucks each at cycle gear is my non emergency mounting solution.

      I’m on my 8th change since then. It’s so easy and quick. The best part is the bead breaker… so much time saved!
