We first discovered this tune from Priscilla Ahn's beautiful version, which was featured on a J-Pop compilation given to me by a longtime Japanese family friend. Happy End was a pioneering Japanese folk rock band in the early 70's whose front man, Haruomi Hosono, is still performing and making music at the age of 72.

Hi from Japan. His Japanese sounds truly fantastic. 9 out of 10 blindfolded Japanese people would find it coming from native speakers. (One is a Josh Turner fan.) That natural, except for the slightly shortened ending vowel of "TE" in the chorus line "Kaze wo Atsumete," which, on the contrary, makes the whole performance cuter and more precious. Luv this.
