11/22/63 is always my go-to recommendation for anyone whose tastes I don’t know! Everyone loves that book and it’s one of my favorite books of all time!

My husband asked me to read a book and let him know if he’d like it. It’s marketed as time travel but maybe not the kind of sci-fi he’d like. So I’m reading “this is how you lose the time war.”
Yeah I am a guy and it was okay. It’s not really a science fiction (don’t mean it derogatory) but a quirky romance set in vaguely science fiction setting.
I always hated reading, i failed English in highschool twice, just could not give a care in the world for it. That being said, there is not one Stephen King book i haven't read. The stand and It was tough for me to stay committed, and TDT wizard and glass was just a tough one over all, but Stephen King did what 13 years of school could not, taught me to enjoy reading
@@Makaneek5060it absolutely does. It’s crazy think back to red rising because it really only scraped the surface in terms of characters, world-building, and story. Especially as you move into the second trilogy
@@kameryngreer3098 All right, that sounds promising. What I like about good fiction is when a ton of elements about the world connect together in surprising but sensible ways, like how the one ring makes you visible to the Nazgul, and how the spice likewise is a powerful tool and a crutch.
@@Makaneek5060 I honestly think you’d enjoy it if you continued, then. There were so many “ohhh, shit” moments for me when I first read through. It’s definitely not for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed its complexity
“All Systems Red” by Martha Wells has been a go to recommendation for everyone for me. It’s really short, so it’s not too overwhelming, and if you DO like it and want the option to read more it’s part of a big series. So you can read the one book pretty quick and decide if you want to keep going without having to commit to a 500 page book before deciding.
I have a recommendation!! White Bird by R J Palacio who is also an author of Wonder. White bird is a story of a grandma who tells her grandson her story. It’s about 1940-1950 in France when h*tl3r was taken over a lot of countries. Also it has a movie! It’s suuuper good!! I highly recommend it
I’ve never been able to get in to books about just stories. It’s always gotta be some sort of self improvement book lol (because I’m lagging so far behind in life)😅
Tons of books out there. Even fantasy can help you out. Avatar the last Airbender replaced my need for therapy later in life basically lmao. Brandon sandersons fantasy stories are amazing. They're badass and about broken people saving the world.
@@JaredPalmerVlogsI mean it definitely teaches the dangers of not having healthy boundaries and the failure to understand what proper BDSM relationships are all about. The more you know 🌈
My recs: I Am Legend- short read. Kinda horror, kinda not, post apocalyptic, but the main character is just a guy trying his best to survive. The Flower War - a little longer, standalone, incredibly well written adult urban fantasy Altered Carbon - better than the tv show by an order of magnitude Aurora Rising - sci-fi space opera but also kind of a crime novel?
