    On a sidenote, that small disassembly tool is priced at around 30€. I mean come on I know that italian pens and goods generally have a price up but that small piece of steel should probably cost somewhere around 10€ tops or just come with the pen itself like TWSBI does with their pens.
    It's not like you need to get it but it's just funny that there are decent quality piston filler PENS around that cost less than that tool.
    I do think italians make some really gourgeous pens but sometimes the pricing on things can get a bit ridiculous.

      @racerx1326 Před 2 lety +3

      They should just charge $30 more and include it in the pen. It just makes them look greedy when they do that.

      @rsinger2597 Před 2 lety +1

      I made my own Montblanc disassembly tool by bending a thick paper clip into shape and bending down the two prongs with pliers. I bet you could do the same for these pens.

    I am not normally a black pen kind of person, but that one is particularly good looking
    Also I had just convinced myself to stick to a steel nib on the Leonardo i've been saving up for and I see that flex nib in action and am back questioning my need for the the gold

    That nice ebonite feed is substantially thicker at the end, than the plastic Leonardo feed. Were it my pen, I would gently reduce the thickness at the end, just enough to let the tines of the nib spread, without the feed touching the paper. (Of course after checking with the Leonardo team if the design might be made on purpose, so as to protect the tines from being splayed)

    Two lovely pens, David. I confess that I’m partial to the Pietra Salata, but my next acquisition will be a Santini, I think-currently closed for vacation, but I’ll be lining up outside their door

    On the Pietra Salata it looks fine, but on the matte black I find the ink window appearing when the pen is closed detracts from the overall clean appearance. Obviously, a matter of personal taste.

  • @RichRayEML
    @RichRayEML Před 3 lety

    I really like the overall look and features of the model, but that small step they put on the lip of the cap really bugs me.. I don't understand its purpose from either an aesthetic or functionality standpoint. It may even be more prone to cracking with the thinner material. I guess it's a good thing none of the current finishes really speak to me, the honey version's okay, I guess, but hopefully they release a later version in a finish I like that doesn't have the step. They've made some minor changes to this year's Momento Zero, so that gives me hope.

      @@FigbootonPens It occurred before the ink swatches were present. Look at the end of the figure 8 squiggles and several of the downstrokes where you were demonstrating the flex. Not a big deal, just curious what would cause that.
