  • The 22-250 is vastly regarded as one of the best rifles for Varmint Abatement. My rifle has a new scope fitment that required an Upgrade.

    Never owned a 22-250. Went from 223 to 243. Figured since I’m running a 26” barrel and 55 grain Noslers around 4200 FPS or a hair more with hand loads with a bigger diameter bullet and energy id stick with my overkill .lol. Good looking BDL. The only one I have left is in 375 RUM.

      I wonder if that point of aim shift was from those new glasses or cheek weld inconsistencies? Certain safety glasses screw me up like that..

    The wood stock on that R700 is B E A utiful 💃 Love the long barrel, too. I just love my Savage 22-250 -- absolute laser.
    Good hunting this week, Dave 👍 Is your wife going along to film again?

      I have a Laser of a Savage 22-250, as well. I should probably buy it in other calibers, since it rather markets itself.

    Dave. Good video and great shooting. I loaded some .22-250's a week or so ago that I need to get out and shoot. Spent my last trip to the farm mowing and cleaning up from the Winter and I'm getting too old to do much of that. All I want to do is shoot! Thanks for sharing and take care.

    👍 on your video Dave.
    I have been working with my 22-250 with different powders. Hoping to work with powders that is fairly easy to find.
    Have you any experience with Accurate 2200 on your 22-250?

    • @davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009
      @davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009  Před 3 měsíci +2

      I have not experimented with different powders on my 22-250. H-380 was the original powder named by Bruce Hodgdon for the 22-250 using a 53gn bullet with 38 grains, (hence H-380, 38 grains). It is perfect for me, so no need to experiment with other powders.

      @@davestrohmeyer-saddleupsho8009H380 is a good powder; works well in a lot of different cartridges. My custom 22-250 from H-S Precision came with a test target shot with IMR 4064 and 50gr Ballistic Tip pills. Five shots in less than 3/8". When IMR Enduron powders came out, I quickly jumped on 4166. Short-cut, temperature stable, decoppering agent. Another good one is IMR 8208 XBR. Long live the 22-250! Thanks, Dave! Looking forward to some rockchuck carnage!😊
