Benoit was literally the only possible opponent for Poirier at the time and every other lightweight was booked. O'Malley had more UFC wins and fought no.9 Munhoz to a NC which kinda misrepresented his ranking at the time. AND AGAIN this was the ONLY option for Yan if he wanted a fight at that time. As every other Bantamweight above O'Malley was booked.
They could have easily made Aldo vs Sandhagen in September. There are many bantamweights available for Umar to fight. (Vera/Cejudo/Yadong/Munhoz/Phillips/Bautista) yet they pushed this because they needed a guy from Umars region for an Abu Dhabi card.

How can you score the damage on the face , if fighters uses gloves to avoid cuts on the face, and also they have vazeline on the face. So even if you hit many, many times with the gloves, you still cant see damage you done. Only sometimes you can see it, if fighter hit n the nose etc. But many , many times damage isnt visible. So how can you count damage otherwise than number of punches?>???? If you count punches, then Pantoja wins.

Erceg made a cut by elbow. But you cant call it damage, becouse gloves prevent from cuts. So if elbows doesnt have gloves on it, its obvious they create cuts compare to fists with gloves on them. Cuts from elbows shouldnt be count as damage, its unfair. @@gabe4164
@@bartekgorniak5758 Okay, then you’d understand that based on the scoring criteria of VISIBLE damage you would have to give Erceg the edge for cutting open and piecing up Pantoja on the feet. Pantoja landed, but with much less meaning as nothing caused significant damage or really hurt Erceg.
